Well, they are making a new D&D movie, so you never know.

Re: Spellbooks and YOU

How quickly can one write spells into a book Well, scribing a scroll takes one day per spell level. One could argue that scribing a spell into your spellbook is basically the same process. But honestly, I'd probably just say maybe 30 minutes to an hour for each spell? I don't really see any reason ...

Re: Spellbooks and YOU

Can't really speak to 1E, but I know in 2E all of that stuff is pretty well explained in Chapter 7 of the DMG.

Re: Magical weapons that return.. how?

I've never had one in any of my games, at least not that I can remember. But if I did, probably the third one (fade in, fade out), as that was how it worked with Wulfgar's hammer in the Drizzt books. So I tend to imagine it working like that as a result.

Re: Gaming and the vaccine..

On the bright side, I actually managed to put together a game. Sort of. It's just one player (who is also fully vaccinated). I've decided to convert one of the old HHQ series, specifically Wizard's Challenge, over to 5E. My hope is to eventually build up a full group, some day. But for now, this wil...

Re: Gaming and the vaccine..

Really depends on the convention, I suppose. Some will probably still be canceled this year, just to play it safe. Others might open up normally, or at limited capacity. It will probably depend on a number of factors, such as where it is held, when it is usually held, how big it usually is, etc.

Re: Gaming and the vaccine..

Four months later, and now I've had both shots and am totally vaccinated (or 'vaxxed to the max' as I like to say). Unfortunately, my work hours have quadrupled, and I don't actually have time to try putting together an in-person D&D group now. :(

Re: D&D Humor

This reminds me a bit of something I saw years ago online. PC: I open the door into the next room. DM: You see an orc armed with a battleaxe guarding a chest. PC: I enter into a frank and meaningful dialogue with the orc, validating his right to guard chests, but not pigeon-holing him into a stereot...

Re: Right for the wrong reasons. Covid-19 and climate change

There are so many anti-science movements over on this side of the world. Climate Change Deniers, Anti-Vaxxers, Anti-Maskers, Creationists, Flat Earthists, Moon Landing Deniers, just to name a few. There is a lot of overlap between them, and they are growing in numbers, too. This is largely due to Yo...

Re: A Dungeons & Dragons film reboot

Yeah, Chris Pine is an odd choice instead. I wonder if this film is going to be set in the same generic setting as the old movies, or a new one?

Re: A Dungeons & Dragons film reboot

I only ever saw the original one. I suppose it can't possibly be worse than that one.
