Re: Campaign defining encounters

Pretty cool, and to be honest, I would be reluctant to kill normally animalistic creatures that had gain sentience as well. Oh, yeah, same here. But this particular party tended to solve any and every problem with violence. The only time they'd even consider parleying is if the enemy were to bring ...

Re: Thoughts on writing encounters, scenarios, and the such

I've always had a dislike for missions that key on "You must find/get through XYZ", making it to where even one bad roll, can making someone not find / get through it.. IF ITS so bloody important, why write it that way? If it matters that they find it, don't put in a die roll, where regard...

Re: Speak with dead, Compels the truth or not (1e or 2e focused)

True, but as someone over on DF said, it makes for an easy get-around', of having to use the Identify spell, sages etc.. Just kill the one holding the magic items, then us SWD to question him.. That should not only get you what items are magical, but command words etc....

Speak with dead, Compels the truth or not (1e or 2e focused)

When a priest (or paladin, once he gets to cast spells), casts a speak with dead spell, Is there anything REQUIRING the spirit being compelled to answer the question, forcing it to tell the truth?? Can the spirit flat out lie? Could it just be evasive (IE answer in a riddle)?

Re: Clerics and scrolls of other gods..

Clerics and scrolls of other gods..

Who here, ever bothers having scrolls be linked to the god of the priest who writes them? If they're so linked, do pcs ever have issues casting spells OFF of scrolls, say they earn by defeating evil priests, thus would have been made to that god?

Re: Maps, tiles, or theater of the minds eye?

I will admit when I first saw "theater of the minds eye," my brain processed it as Mind's Eye Theater and my excitement went up thinking this might be a WoD discussion. Silly me! :pos: I was excited to see everything you are doing with your 3D printer. It is an awesome visualization of wh...

Re: Maps, tiles, or theater of the minds eye?

Nice.. If you print out the sheets, how do you 'balloon' up a map you have, to where it is sized for 1" squares, on the regular size paper?
