Re: Campaign defining encounters

Pretty cool, and to be honest, I would be reluctant to kill normally animalistic creatures that had gain sentience as well. It makes me think of the comic, Legacy of Luther Strode. There's a point near the end of the story where he asks one of the villains "You know why I don't want to kill you...

Re: Thoughts on writing encounters, scenarios, and the such

I just let my game prep work load build up too much (I am running three different games, and playing in two others), is all. I usually read ahead (but not too far ahead), but this time, with things going on, eh, only ended up with the time to prep the stat blocks. As for modules, they're alright, yo...

Re: Thoughts on writing encounters, scenarios, and the such

Yeah, as I was reading it during the session, I was like....why the hell would you make the entrance be blocked by such a hard thing, if they NEED to get past it? At least have some downside to failing and just let the party progress.

Thoughts on writing encounters, scenarios, and the such

So as I'm trying to hype myself up to do some prep work for some of my games, I'd thought I'd bring up a little situation that I came across in a published adventure I was running. This was in a Starfinder AP book, for the record. Here's the situation. Party is a military squad on a planet in a syst...

Re: Campaign defining encounters

I take it its the rats wanting to spread things, and the werewolves not? Correct. Their leader desire domination over the continent, in part due to the persecution she suffered early in life, and in part she's a egomanical nutcase. Her end game is to increase the number of lycans in the world to st...

Re: Campaign defining encounters

Nah, it was technically a moderate encounter, the two on the far right wasn't intended to be part of the fight. One wererat was immediately pushed off the ledge and fell to his death, and the players made pretty short work of the rest, although their objective was less to fight the players, but to t...

Re: West March Style Game

Overall, this looks to me as though it's trying to address a similar niche as the official Adventurer's League games, where you can play with a random group and go on a different, unrelated adventure each session. The closest I've been to running something like this is games where there's no over-a...

Campaign defining encounters

What stories does everyone have of that one encounter that defined, or changed the direction of your campaign? Let me tell you about the one in my current game. This is a Pathfinder 2nd Edition game, using the Eberron setting. The group has just left a small town after completing an adventure titled...

Re: Features Wanted - Public Debate Open

Here's a feature that I totally take for granted and didn't think to mention from Roll20.

The ability to pop out the window. Here's the feature in question

For anyone using multiple monitors, this is a really handy feature to have. It occurred to me looking at your post about the DM screen, Cole.

Re: Features Wanted - Public Debate Open

Now not to bash the comp, but wow, way to much stuff going on for a DM to run an effective game IMO What do you mean by this? what features as a DM or as a player would you really want to see in a virtual tabletop The important part of a VTT platform is being a shared point of centralized informati...

Re: Monotheism vs Polytheism

Have you ever noticed that every D&D world, both published and homebrewed, is always polytheistic and never monotheistic? Really has to do with how active the gods are. Settings like Forgotten Realms or Golarion (Pathfinders default setting), where the gods are not only active, but are killable...

Re: Map A Week Archive - Tons of Free Maps!

They're a lot better than the ones I used in Roll20, that's for sure!

I also might have added every region in Eberron to my Roll20 campaign that I'm running. To scale. I was very bored that week. lol.

Re: Check In Everyone!

Agreed! We should all have way more time to spare now, thus why I'm givin er on the site. Nice to see people checking in though. Hope everyone is healthy  My free time hasn't changed all that much on my end. Can't work from home with warehouse work, ha. Though no idea how long it'll last. There...

Re: Devices / List Your Preferences On PADnD

If I were to make use of other parts of the site, I'd be doing it via my desktop. Don't got time for anything indepth on my phone.

Well....actually yes I would, but I wouldn't enjoy it, so...nyah.
