Re: Need advice from 5e enthusiasts

I own most of the 5E adventures but honestly I dont know if I will ever get around to running them. The large scale adventures don't interest me too much. If you wanted smaller scale adventures to go into a homebrew world you should look at Kobold Press. Prepared and Prepared2 are both filled with e...

Re: Need advice from 5e enthusiasts

My group has repeatedly told me that they have had more fun with Waterdeep Dragonheist than any campaign they have ever been in, but I have a hard time recommending it to any group that isn't really into roleplaying. The adventure could also be run as written but I think it would be really fast and ...

Re: Need advice from 5e enthusiasts

I cannot recommend Lost MInes of Phandelver enough from the Starter Set. It's a great adventure with a great mix of play styles in it. It's really geared towards teaching new players (and DMs) but it doesn't hold your hand. It's a lot of fun. Here is my campaign thread from when I ran it. http://www...

Re: Lurking with a paint brush

There are so many good minis coming out to paint lately it's really taken a hit on my wallet. The D&D Nolzur's and Pathfinder Deep Cuts lines are great minis for the price. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4817/45786451401_9a679877ca_b.jpg https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4872/44873586985_33a05ef31a...

Re: Lurking with a paint brush

Welcome Bryant. When I returned to D&D after a couple decades off I decided I wanted to build up my miniature collection fast so I started buying cases of each set of the Wizkids Icons of the Realms minis. I have thousands of minis and a great collection to work from so these days I have stopped...

Best Wife Ever!

Tomorrow is my birthday but today is game day, so the wife decided that I needed to get my gifts a day early. What better than a Polyresin Dragon head to mount in the game room and beer for game night! I am going to hand paint the head once I figure out exactly what color scheme I want to use and ge...

Re: No permission for Podcast forum

Nope, still getting this:

You do not have the required permissions to read topics within this forum.

I can see the forum and see that there are posts in there, but I cannot even see the threads, its just blank.

No permission for Podcast forum

Like the title says, I don't have permission to even see topics in the podcast forum. I am assuming that is an error.

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap

1E Unearthed Arcana is the worst offender I think. I am not sure where it ended up but I had a UA that the spine was crap and the pages falling out. I have a really nice one now and I think I gave my beat up one to a friend. I have a 1E PHB that is separated from the cover but that is strictly due t...

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap

I haven't had a problem with my 2E PHBs (I have 3 of the original printings) but my original 2E DMG is the same as yours, pages falling out. At some point I will probably find another.

Re: G'day everyone!

Welcome Lyrwik. I am curious to see what you think of 5E. I read through 3.5E some and it seemed to add too much for me. I bought the core 4E books and absolutely hated it. It never felt like D&D at all to me. I have heard a lot of people say 5E has that "old school" feel to it but I h...

What other hobbies do you guys have?

Just like the topic says, what other hobbies do you guys have? I have been a PC gamer all my life but these days my main hobby has gone back to my childhood hobby, I collect and restore Arcade and Pinball machines. It also happens to be my side business since more of them end up going out my door th...

Re: Your favorite Setting

My favorite setting is Ravenloft but I am not such a huge fan of the whole demi-plane idea. I love gothic horror and think the setting fits well into any world. I am currently running my own homebrew world in a campaign we just began. It was a last minute decision for me to take over DMing for the g...
