Re: Dragon Magazine in .pdf format
I also have the CD set but I was unable to get to the dragon issues and kept getting an error, even when trying from the main index page. Dungeon worked fine I even tried using MS Edge and just kept getting the error message. Any clues?

Re: Best Wife Ever!
Very cool. Must be nice to have such an understanding spouse. While mine has less than zero interest in gaming, at least she's letting me have my own big game room when we move soon. Of course, that room will also have to double as my stereo cave as well but I'm fine with that. Make sure you provide...

Re: It REALLY IS scary IMO
Hi Matt, It took me awhile to warm up to "smart" phones also. I feel they have become something of a crutch to many folks in our society today. I used to find it amusing to see folks bent over their phones intently concentrating on whatever the "app" of the moment might be. Now I...

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..
Damn, Bro. Not sure how to respond to that. Sounds like he might be feeling a little more like himself, based on how you described him in the past. I told you the VA would be a good idea but I can tell you from personal experience they will not do DICK without his DD214. About 12 years ago, when my ...

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..
Glad to hear you actually spoke with him. I bet he was happy to hear from you even though you've not been very close recently. I hope he will seek treatment for his depression and I still think it would be wise for him to at least look into VA benefits for discounted meds if for no other reason. Let...

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..
As I indicated and AFAIK, even a general or other than honorable discharge sill makes him eligible for VA benefits. If it was dishonorable he might be out of luck. There are plenty of online resources for getting a copy of your DD214. I just did a Bing search and got a full page of options. Most of ...

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..
Hey Gar, just a quick thought. Was he ever in the military like you? If so the VA would be an excellent source of info and help for him. Anyone that served and was discharged for anything except a dishonorable discharge can use the VA's facilities. He doesn't have to be a retiree. Just needs his DD2...

Re: Family woes.. Boo hiss..
Damn, dude... Aspergers is normally thought of as a developing as a childhood malady. Do you recall him ever having any tendencies for such a condition? Are these folks looking for anything from you besides legal stuff? Have you reached out to him? The first thing I would do is try to give him a cal...

I don't have that permission either. I'm guessing Cole has to provide access... Shoot him a PM and he'll probably add you. That said, it doesn't seem to be a very active page...

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap
1E Unearthed Arcana is the worst offender I think. I am not sure where it ended up but I had a UA that the spine was crap and the pages falling out. I have a really nice one now and I think I gave my beat up one to a friend. I have a 1E PHB that is separated from the cover but that is strictly due ...

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap
(My 2E DMG's spine is currently held together with duct tape and I have to open it carefully, or several loose pages will fly out, due to years of wear and tear, just as an example. I've had to replace my 2E PHB twice now, and each time it's harder to find a good, intact copy.) I wish I had known t...

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap
Thanks for the refresher on the timeline. Once again, I submit you might be correct in assuming Paizo are now the ones playing 'catch-up" and get some folks back in their fold, as it were. But in your haste to make your point, you failed to see mine. A return to a more classical feel. I submit,...

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap
Hal, didn't you at some point in the recent past, post the timeline of version releases for D&D? I seem to recall: 1st Edition 1978-1989ish - 11 years 2nd Ed 89-98 - 9 years etc. I can't recall the rest of the exact dates but I seem to remember 3.X had a pretty long run, too. Like 7+ years. And ...

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap
JadedDM, you might be right but I'm willing to bet dollars to donuts that 6 Ed is already written or mostly so and any new editions they propose will almost certainly be advertised and sold as "5th Ed compatible", unlike 3rd & 4th which were essentially stand alone editions. Or possibl...

Re: Sold my 3rd Ed crap
You make a valid argument, Hal. But according to the very nice sales associate I spoke with, there was a gentleman that came in once about a year ago that bought essentially all of the classic stuff in one fell swoop. He made an offer to the store's owner for the lot and walked out with quite a haul...
