Re: What Generation Are You In?

Not a lot of them. I know people born in the 60s in South Korean are called the 386 Generation. And Japanese born in the mid-60's are called the Bubble Generation.

Re: What Generation Are You In?

I went with the years given in Wikipedia. While it's true there are no set numbers, most sources agree that Millennial is 81-96. I was born in 82, so I literally became an adult (turned 18) in the year 2000, the turn of the millennium, so I feel that fits me pretty well. And yes, it's very US-centri...

What Generation Are You In?

I figured we've probably disrupted Meph's Greyhawk map thread enough with our off-topic discussion on who is the youngest here, so I thought we'd put it to the test. Let's find out the exact demographics, age wise, of the members here. I'm going to guess most of the forum is comprised of Boomers, bu...

Sorry, I'm afraid I'm neither a math nerd or a backgammon player. :(

No worries. Necroposting isn't illegal here, at least as far as I know. Reanimate away.

Re: Diversity changes

So you're mad because you cannot say the n-word without being labeled racist? You want the 'freedom' to use that word as much as you want without consequence? Why is that?

Also enforced by whom? The police? Do you think you'll be thrown in prison for saying that word?

Yeah, that was the very first issue, where they upgraded to 3.5E.

Re: Diversity changes

So being labeled a "bigot, racist, sexist, etc.," offends you? Aren't you then defining those words as 'offensive?'

Re: Divine alignment stability

Order of the Stick is still 3rd Edition. Which kind of highlights how long that comic has been running, as 3E has been defunct for 11 years now. (Looking it up, it seems Order of the Stick is a whopping 17 years old! Man, it's almost old enough to vote. Oh, now I feel really old...) Anyway, as for y...

Re: Diversity changes

That they focus on innocent words when they could be focusing on more important features Such as...? Also, words are not always so innocent. They can do real harm when abused. Even very minor stuff, like the words in a D&D book, can add up over time. "Negro" is actually Spanish for &q...

Re: Diversity changes

Hahaha, that's so faqing ridiculous Which part is ridiculous, and what is ridiculous about it? (and Ezmerelda is not a name, the name is Esmeralda, and its Spanish not Romanian thus not vistani) It's something you see a lot in high fantasy, though. You take a real name, change or add/remove a few l...

Re: Diversity changes

I don't have either of those adventures, nor have I run or played in them, but these changes sound fine to me. I understand they hired an actual Romani advisor for the changes to Curse of Strahd.

Re: Opinions on Premade Settings

For those of you who do steal from other settings, what kind of stuff to you steal? For me, it's maps. I rip off maps constantly, from just about everywhere. Not just modules, but even videogames. I once ran an entire dungeon from Skyrim. It's not that I can't draw maps; I mean, I can't draw them we...

Re: Opinions on Premade Settings

The only setting I've run actual campaigns in that wasn't homebrewed is Dragonlance. I've run modules that take place in Greyhawk or Forgotten Realms, but that's it. And I do put a lot of effort into making sure my Dragonlance games are true to the lore. I'll spend hours on the wiki, making sure I g...
