How to Improve NWN Graphics (Read Me)

Hi guys,

For those of you who will be joining us online and want a little more out of this old classic, here is what I run and several others in the community. It makes the outdoor tilesets, the caverns and the indoor sets look much much better. Hell I won't play without these now. Follow along and I'll show you how to install them in no time.

First go to this link and download the following files; ... elift-haks

override hak for the forest tileset (11.5 mb) ... 7z&nid=625

override hak for the rural tileset (15.28 mb) ... 7z&nid=625

(mines tileset) fixed a few bugs reported by Shadooow and AlgernonsGhost (13.66 mb) ... 7z&nid=625

(interior tileset) walkmeshes of h08+09 fixed (10.19 mb) ... 7z&nid=625

(winter rural tileset) added missing wall texture (13.43 mb) ... 7z&nid=625

(city tileset) lag and tilefade problems fixed (14.03 mb) ... 7z&nid=625

Now once all those files are downloaded, unzip them all, then put them all into one folder called "patch".

You should end up with a folder named "patch", with these files inside of it.

Now you need to copy that entire (or cut n paste) your new folder into your NWN install directory. Yup copy that entire folder into the main directory where your game is installed. Right with all the other folders (such as "override", "saves", "portraits", "movies" etc.

Then all you have to do is make a patch file like so; Open note pad and paste in this

then save the file as "nwnpatch.ini"

then dump it into the main NWN install directory like you did with the patch folder (NOTE, not inside the patch folder, in the main directory where NWN is installed)

or just click this link and download my ini file, then just dump it into your NWN install directory.

done! start up your game and see the difference! Just awesome!
