"Yep, here you go," says the cleric, handing over the maps.

Roger takes this as his cue and heads off.

"There is a patch of wall close to the well we came down I want to take a closer look at. The secret door I found reminded me of it."

"Thank you Roger." Sue shakes his head as the skull leaves. Not believing he was in league with an undead.

"Ok, Jim let's go." He will trace the route on the maps.

Roger turns round, still moving away, "Thank you, too!" and then turns again, disappearing round a corner.

The group plus floating disc return, a bit slower than usual, back to the corridor leading west from the well.

======
Anyone searching the north wall for a secret door has advantage on a Perception skill check, DC 20. (For Jim, DC is 15).
A relevant tool skill, masonry for example, gives +2 to the skill checks.

If the door is located (by anyone) then Investigation skill checks can be made (by everyone) to try and discover how to open the door, DCs remain the same. Proficiency in thieves' tools gives an additional +2 bonus.

Alecia searches for the door without success.

She gets ready to try and discover an opening mechanism in the event of anyone finding a door.

======
Alecia Per advant DC 20 [1d20+3] = 15+3 = 18, [1d20+3] = 12+3 = 15
Alecia Inv advant DC 20 [1d20+4] = 8+4 = 12, [1d20+4] = 5+4 = 9

Sue walks up between those searching.
Perception (Dis)Advantage: [1d20+2] = 2+2 = 4 [1d20+2] = 19+2 = 21

"Here." He trace his finger around the door without touching it.

"How it works though... I've no idea."
Investigation (Dis)Advantage: [1d20] = 6 [1d20] = 3

"Well done, Sue!" says Alecia. She offers Guidance [+1d4] to Jim on his attempt to work out the door locking mechanism.

Jim looks for a door in the wall. Perception: [1d20+6] = 8+6 = 14 , Perception: [1d20+6] = 9+6 = 15

Investigation(0): [1d20] = 10 , Investigation(0): [1d20] = 9
Guidance: [1d4] = 4
GM Inspiration reroll on Investigation - Inspiration(0): [1d20] = 6
"Good eye Sue. Hmm, I ave no idea how to open this one."

OOC - Nope. 3 rolls. Nothing lol

If Woody fails to find a way in, Jim will suggest "If we really want to get on the other side, we could go take a look at the door we already found. If we know how to open that one perhaps the trigger for this door is similar. I am also pretty sure we didn't explore all that far eastward when we took the north passage up from the pillar room. Who knows how this place is all connected."

[would it be +3 for thief tool proficiency sinc my prof bonus is +3 now?]
Nix inv +2 thief tool prof [1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15
moot point in this case

if adv applies
Nix inv +2 thief tool prof [1d20+2] = 7+2 = 9
no better

After Jim and Nix finish searching for a locking mechanism, it's Woody's turn.
Alecia offers Guidance to Woody [+1d4] for his Investigation.

[academically speaking, if alecia had offered guidance on nix' first attempt and the bonus for tool proficiency were equal to his proficiency bonus (i.e. +3, because proficiency bonuses increase at lvl 5) then guidance woukd give him 1/4 chance for that first roll to have succeded...]

[1d20] = 8 + 2 = 10 + 3 = 13
[1d20] = 7 + 2 = 9 + 3 = 12
Guidance [1d4] = 3

"Can't find the door".
