"The food is amazing, I didn't know food could taste this good, if I come here too many times I shall be the size of a house!" She giggles and pops a beet in her mouth, "Oh my... Oh my." She almost purrs as the tastes slide down her throat. "This is wonderful."

"Thank you Sabine." Finishing one glass she places the next in front of her and nods to Adrastia, "If all else fails, I can see that finding this person is shall we say something you'd like to avoid?"

"My go!" Grabbing the dice she rolls, cursing her luck as she rolls two 3's (Snake Eyes [2d6] = 8-2 = 6)

"Here we go! Round 3!"

Snake Eyes: [2d6-2] = 10-2 = 8

"Double doubles... 3's and 5's... that sounds kind of lucky."

Upper Skald, The Old Kartakan Inn: Adrastia, Elsa, Mira and Pyros
Elsa giggles at Mira’s joke, tasting a sample of the roasted beets. She makes a contented sound as she chews, the ruddy root staining the corners of her mouth unnervingly like blood.

Adrastia pauses again before addressing the Bard’s remark. I think we should use that avenue only as a last resort. she says finally, apparently unwilling to say more on the matter at this time.

Mira and Pyros toss again, the bard coming out on top once more. The cleric takes up the cubes and makes a new toss, throwing a 3 and a 4. She shakes her head ruefully. That lets me out.
Elsa bar-dice [2d6] = 7

The warrior glances around the room and back to the group. What else did you hope to learn here? Should we investigate the inn itself a little further now that we have some information on your ‘friend’? As good as the food here is, I’ve already eaten and I’m not much for idling away the time… Adrastia says with an obvious air of restlessness.

[Lol. Mira 6, Elsa 7, Pyros 8]

Jerry shrugs, and indicates with eyes and gentle pressure that she thinks they should leave.
When outside she says with an expansive gesture, "This place defies, eats at my sense, my experience of reality. I'm trying to make sense of it by picking back at it; trying to find something that's odd or doesn't fit and then to follow that thread to it's heart. Without that how else do we get back to whence we came." She looks fractured, distressed for a moment, gripping Merrick's arm and then hugging him, "Or at least to have that choice."
Releasing him Jerry adds, "Let's try the special shop." She avoids using the word 'magic'.

======
Undead Hunters have an ability to sniff out Undead and their lairs. That's what I was trying to do without using those words.
Without looking, one would be less likely to find such.
With that as a 'profession', I think it likely to be a preoccupation, a habit maybe, rather than a part time, hobbyist thing.

"Not quite!" Mira giggles and rolls her dice the pair falling on 2 and 3, feeling quite proud of herself she sips some of the wine and nods in agreement. "I'm done here, she isnt around and my presence will be mentioned, so thats a good start, we probably should find what Jerry is up to.."

Snake Eyes [2d6] = 7

Upper Skald, The Old Kartakan Inn: Adrastia, Elsa, Mira and Pyros
Pyros and Mira make one final toss each, tying their final throws. Adrastia nods and gestures for the waitress who reports their total to be 8 silver and 2 coppers. The warrior stands and Elsa puts down a gold piece nudges the bard, From the part we’re reserving for meals. Would you tell her we really think the chef is a genius? That food was so good!

Adrastia smiles and nods at the shorter woman’s remark. Indeed. I was very surprised. Once the others were ready she leads the way outside. So. Your friends are in Lower Skald, yes? Are they meeting us back at the Broken Wheel?

Lower Skald, the Wharf: Artanis and Cross
The pair continue to fish. Artanis gets several nibbles, but no bites for the time being. After a time there is a call from the road, Ho there! How is the catch this afternoon? Looking back the pair see Merrick and Jerry on the main street.

Lower Skald, The Park: Jerry and Merrick
Merrick and Jerry leave the small establishment. He listens carefully to the cleric’s remarks. I suppose it’s natural to want to find something to explain it all. he says in Elven. You must understand, this is all quite normal to me. Unfortunately the few cases I’ve heard of ‘others’ coming here have never ended with them finding their way home… Rautant knew a man named Tannis. He has a journal that describes his coming here and many long years of struggle trying to return to his homeland… I don’t think he ever did, but I’m sure I don’t know. Rautant tried to help him find his way, and by his own account Tannis was far more ingenious than he. If the two of them could not puzzle it out, the way back must be rare indeed. However… I certainly don’t think the way lies in a small tavern in the run-down area of Skald. he says, not unkindly.

Rubbing her back and shoulders comfortingly he continues, This Crown, if there is anything to it, is supposed to be some kind of magical artifact right? Perhaps it will have the power to… allow transport to your homeland… I suppose we won’t know until we find it. Nodding at her final comment he turns southward along the road. The pair begin to pass the wharf where Merrick stops as he spots something. Ah, there they are. Seems they sought out a better fishing spot. The half-elf waves and calls out to the ranger and dagger-mage. Ho there! How is the catch this afternoon?

[Mostly just curious about the specific Lich slavery and Vampire ‘blood bank’ remarks ;) Merrick is simply reacting to the way she seems constantly paranoid about everything in his world. To him, it’s all normal.]

"Thank you for the meal." Mira tells Sabine handing over the gold piece. "Payment for our meal, and a little something for you.. Please pass on our compliments to the Chef, the food was wonderful. I do hope to see you later." Standing she takes Elsa's hand and heads outside. "Lower Skald, well Art went fishing in a way that Art will do, so we would find them down there. Hmmm lets go back to the Inn, they can meet us there.."

She attempts to remember the way, letting Adrastia help with the directions she pays attention to each turn trying to remember the way.

Jerry smiles waves to the other pair and says quietly to Merrick, "Would I be able to read that journal do you think?"
Holding on to his arm she adds, "I want to go home but I like being with you."

Upper Skald, The Old Kartakan Inn:
Sabrina thanks the bard and nods, Oh yes, I’ll certainly tell the chef! And I’m excited to hear you play! She moves off to tend to the other customers.

Mira leads the group out of the inn, the roaring falls greeting them with a rush of sound as they step outside. Once the quartet crosses the bridge south (noting another to the north that leads across river) they comes to the first intersection where the noise is somewhat dampened by buildings. The bard begins to turn West, but Adrastia stops her. If we go back the same way past the shop it will take considerably longer. We are actually not far from the Broken Wheel now.

Passing straight south through the intersection the warrior leads them to a much wider intersection, almost a small square, where five roads meet. Pointing westward the dusky hued woman says It is just down the hill here, a few buildings away. Looking down the street, the others can see what might be the roof of the inn just past the steeply pitched drop of the hill. The buildings in this area of town are quite fine, even more so than those below the hill. To the SouthEast Mira spots a truly elaborately designed two-story building just over a block away [Area GH on the map].

Lower Skald, The Park: Jerry and Merrick
The pair continue on to The Stone, speaking along the way. The journal? I’m sure Rautant would allow you to peruse it. He never lends it out, but you could probably read it at his shop. The half elf takes her arm in escort, I’m… well to say I’m a wanderer would be inaccurate, but I’ve left my homeland certainly. There is nothing for me in Sithicus, and, well… while I do enjoy the music of Harmonia very much, I certainly feel there is more out there. Perhaps… perhaps if the way back for you were to be found… He falls silent, stopping short of saying the obvious.

Tell me about your homeland. What’s it like there? What is your hometown like? The pair near a small, square building on the East side of the road. The wooden sign is painted with a grey keystone-like shape bearing a common magical rune often used to describe ‘Power’ or ‘Energy’ in magical writing. [Area TS]

"Of course, I would like you to teach me the way around if possible." The Bard suggests as her eyes fall on the property before her, "What is that rather interesting Building Adrastia?" She asks admiring the buildings..

"Do you think we would be happy in a great big house...?" she sings to herself, the song was written for Yasir. He was gone, at least for now, right now she needed to focus on herself and move on.

"That would be just wonderful.. on both counts," answers Jerry looking unexpectedly happy and snuggles into Merrick's arm, matching him step for step.
"It's less grey.. and also less threatening," she replies after a few moments' thought. "There are dangers aplenty, of course. Maybe it's just that I understand 'the rules' there. Whereas here.. I don't really know what's going on. Also, I feel more removed from My Lady here. That's not just an emotional thing. It's very real and tells me this is most definitely a different plane, but most probably the same Crystal Sphere. It's much larger, greener, more people and a lot more variation. The pockets of people tend to be larger but with bigger spaces between them. No weird rolling mists. No unnatural nightmares, in general, anyway. And some of the the buildings will take your breather away. Most of them are mundane though. There's a very large amount of mundane. My training and background make me look for those things that aren't mundane. And to sentence a proportion of the threatening things that aren't mundane. If you see what I mean..." she ended somewhat lamely, aware that she was starting to ramble and that being there would be wonderful, but without Merrick, would be somewhat hollow.
She gestures for him to lead into the special shop.

Upper Skald, The Old Kartakan Inn:
Adrastia shrugs, I just have a good sense of direction, and I try to keep where I am staying in mind when I wander about. she say simply. The warrior looks at the large building the bard indicates. Hmm… I’m not sure. This is my first time in Skald… As the four stand there, the faint sound of music can be heard coming from the building.

Lower Skald, The Stone: Jerry and Merrick
Hmmm… it sounds nice. These towns may not be very impressive architecturally… actually there aren’t any substantial cities in my homeland either… Far to the north there are much larger cities with more than twenty-thousand people! Can you imagine so many in one place? He says, intrigued. Yes… variation… Humans are the dominant race by far, of course. There are precious few of Elvish descent outside of Sithicus, which is almost exclusively Elven. The only reason some Kartakans speak the language is because they’re in trade with us. There are precious few others… we, umm… we demihumans are not always very well treated outside of Sithicus.

No mists…? he asks, almost disbelievingly. Then how did you come here if…? He trails off as they enter the squat, square-fronted shop.

The interior of The Stone is simple, and quite similar to the Silver Scale in Harmonia. Rows of shelves bearing books, bottles, curiosities and various writing supplies hang on the wall beyond the plain counter. A small table with two chairs has been set aside as a designated study area. A man in his forties with short-cropped white hair glances back and forth between them as they enter. He squints at Merrick slightly as if he were puzzling something out. There is no one else in the shop at the moment. Yes? He asks slowly in a gravely voice, speaking in that a-tonal Elven Merrick used.

Jerry drops the man a curtsy and says, "I'm Jerry," and smiles, waiting for Merrick to introduce himself, adding, "Do you know each other?"

After the introductions, Jerry will follow Merrick's lead but wants a quick look around and then will ask if there are any reference books on crowns, 'special' crowns.
