He will then sigh as he looks at Cait who is now attacking the Snake-Priest body if the armour and weapons have been removed.

"My spells are severely depleted. Would it make sense to head to the surface to fully recover?"

If the Snake-Priest has a pack Jar will see if it has any of the material components he needs, maybe the component for Augury even? [LOL]

[Is Ornvul currently wearing the snake ring the group found before?]

Searching the bodies of the snake people reveals little more than their obvious clothes and weapons. Apparently they came prepared only for the attack, without even spare pouches or packs. Neither of the two wear armor of any kind, their own scaled hide quite tough on its own. As requested, Seos burns the snake people down to smoldering heaps of bone and flesh once the useful gear has been removed.

The party can finish their rest in about 3 hours. Seos’ ice wall will last about 2-1/2 hours.
Jar knows his magical shelter lasts 14-17 hours. It has been up for 6 hours I think.

SnakeWoman Had:
Magical 2-Handed sword (with snake head pommel)
Magical Girdle
Serpent ring (Identical to the one Ornvul has)

SnakeMan Had:
Magical Mace
Magical Cloak
Holy symbol (to Vytholus)
Components pouch (Priestly components for up to 7th level spells)
Serpent ring (Identical to the one Ornvul has)

Ornvul carefully gathers up the magical items* being careful not to contaminate their aura so that she can do an Identification in the morning and explains the same in case anyone thinks she being greedy. She ignores the Holy symbol & components pouch.

"I need some more rest to prepare for Identifying. I think we should be ok here for the few hours required. But it's probably a good idea to have two on watch, one to watch the watcher, if you see what I mean," announces the scout.

Yes, Ornvul did put the snake ring on after she got a blank on Identifying it. I don't think she ever took it off. However, if that would have changed anything that has happened since, I'm relaxed if you tell me she took it off at some point (without telling me when or giving any clues.) She will put it back on now if not already on.
And do we know the name "Vytholus"? i.e. The party can act on it should it suddenly become relevant.

Yelb watches as Ornvul gathers the stuff. "I think "Vytholus" was the name inscribed on the top of the snake head. It's their snake god, right?" and once all are settled he goes back to sleep.

Chris: Ok, then she has had it on continuously since then.
Vytholus was the name of a snake god found enscribed on the roof of the giant snake-head’s mouth in the first room encountered. Bish, Ornvul never actually asked that aloud though.]

As Jar says, Cait can stay awake and the unseen servant can make some kind of alarm if there are intruders. There are also alarm spells on all the windows and the door, but with the massive gaping hole in the wall those are less tenable…

The unseen servant can carry a max of 20 lbs... it cannot drag the troll bodies.

Jar replenishes his components from the pouch, and recognizes the unholy symbol as one devoted to Vytholus. Jar gives some instructions to the Servant, then moves to cover the opening with a blanket and Cait’s assistance.

Yelb heads to bed, as does Seos after dismissing her Flame Aura spell. Pik decides to stay up with Cait, I got dis, Jar. I rest later.

Having gathered up the magical items, as an afterthought Ornvul lays them aside and casts Abjuration cantrips on anyone that appears to need one starting with herself and then whoever else is nearest (moving to range as necessary): "Begone troll mess & gore, let us be as before."
When that's settled, she regains the magical stuff and settles down in an unoccupied a bed or bunk farthest from the gaping hole in the wall. She completes her resting ready to regain spells and does the latter as soon as she's able.

81 pages, 1200+ posts, over 1 year spent on this scene… yeah…
I think I’m going to be a little less tight with in-game time, especially scouting and minute-by-minute tracking is a bit of a mess. Plus, it seems to drag things on a bit. So far the party is making good progress, at least they keep finding things to keep, critters to kill and sigils to obtain. The game is moving a little slower than I anticipated, but not enough for it to be a big deal.
