Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
Katten ponders this, the creatures could easily have attacked from behind if they knew that path.. she notes the closest tree with a mark to remind herself and others that the path exists.
She passes Dran, giving him a hug and a kiss on the nose, "You wait, stay safe." She warns the wolf
That done she heads back inside planning to catch the refugees on the way out and attack any fleeing creatures.

Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
Findalsip spies what the grow points towards. His normally steady demeanor slips and he gets frustrated at the sight of the words and goblins. He whispers under his breath “Unstable rock and poor cuts!” He readies his sling and stones.

Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
Trying to look as intimdating as possible, and making sure he gets between the worgs and the prisoners.
Loudly he will state. Positioning himself in the middle to get the most attention.
"We have cut down your leaders and guards. Flee now or meet the same fate!"
He will then raise his longsword and let out the loudest battle cry an elf can.
(He's had enough of these things.)

Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
The heavily armored Elven protector draws his sword strides between the Worgs and the remaining prisoners. In a loud voice he demands the enemy's retreat, indicating the dozens of bodies nearby, including their Chief! The figures begin to slink back down the passage away from the group, the pace of their withdrawl quickened by his battle cry!
Quickly the captives huddle near, clutching their weapons and watching every direction in anticipation of other threats. Well done, warrior. Let us leave this wretched place. she says.

Nocturno stands his ground watching.
"Go! I will bring up the rear."

Findalsip will keep his sling and stone ready and advance in front of the group to guide them to the exit.

Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
A tentative silence falls over the scene as Fin begins to lead the others from the cave, Linar bringing up the rear. Nocturno stands, watching the passage where the goblins retreated until the others are past, then joins them. The group makes haste past the dozens of bodies of worg and goblin alike, drawing gasps and looks of shock and wonder from many of the captives. Finally they emerge into the moonlit night, the freed slaves taking in the outdoors for the first time in weeks. Some squint through tears of joy and relief, others stare at the vastness of the chasm and the world around in stark contrast to the claustrophobic caves.
Jordek pops up from behind a rock just as Katten and Dran appear from the West around the rocky terrain. I told the others to go hide past the treeline over there. The Forest Gnome says, pointing south. We should join them and then figure out what we're going to do next. he advises

Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
"There was another patrol that came upon us, but I managed to intimidate them into cowering in a deeper corner of the cave."
He sighs.
"We should put some distance between us and this place."

Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
Katten hives Nocturno a wide smile, she was impressed.
"We go others, bring back to safety. Path lead back up." She motions in the general direction of the mark she had made. "You bring other things?" She asks Findalsip.

Cloaked in shadows Linar, silent as the darkness itself, brings up the rear.

Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
The four rejoin the other group with the freed captives and find a secure area to set up camp. Several of the former slaves come up to thank the party one by one. Jordek sees to the bandaging of the injured, and using his last healing spell on himself.
[Any last spells or actions before the party turns in for the night? Jordek can take a shift keeping watch but Bull is too exhausted from his K.O. ordeal
Otherwise I'll close the chapter and start calculating xp]
====
Jordek casts Cure Moderate Wounds on himself.
CMW [1d10+1]=4+1=5 hps
Jordek is upgraded from Hurt Badly to Hurt

Re: Act 2, Scene 3: Twisting Paths
Seeing that Bull resembles a a ravaged zombie with myriad accumulated wounds and punctures rather than his usual pristine, vibrant, martial self, Linar sets about attempting the low-level magical equivalant of a bed bath to try and head off infections. Or just unpleasant odours.
Two Evocation cantrips:
"Let moistening air descend to wet out the top half of bull, my friend."
"Damp fog caresses and swirls making Bull's lower parts dampen into curls."
Two alteration cantrips:
"Beefy body belly-up now all clean like fresh-washed cup."
"Cleanse the body, belly-down. There, all done! Nary a frown."
Two Abjuration cantrips:
"Dirty water going fast. Bull's top wetness is of the past."
"Hind legs and dangies now all dry. Close to that I will not spy."
OOC
As most published cantrips seem to have an AoE limit of a cubic yard I've assumed that Bull required sparate treatment on his upper and lower halves.
