Out of Character discussion

The 2E AD&D Homebrew Sandbox world of Genwald is large, ancient, and magical. There are many undiscovered/untamed places. The Sun Kingdom (European style, Late Medieval Human NG Monarchy) is the basic Campaign area, but PCs can end up anywhere.

The scars of ancient battles of titanic proportions mark the land. Wild magic zones, fantastical terrain, grand adventure, political strife, and even artifacts of wonder await. Choose your part and come make your mark on the world. A wide array of unconventional races and classes are available.

Better late than never

Ok, knowledge is a victim of the play by post for me.

Are the characters satisfied that we have gotten what we came to this cave for?
IE, the item, and kill the leader.
Or do we think we will need to return to explore the rest?

The details of the actual quest have gotten foggy, Im guessing I can read the knowledge thread to get back on track.

Yeah, they have pretty much done the main things they set out to do:
-Retrieve the piece of the magic item (pommel shaped like an egg)
-Free the captives
-Kill the Wetrock leadership and disband the tribe
(all 5 leaders killed between this & 1st attempt: Chief Wrolk the Axebender, Worgmaster Gnaw, Gnaw's Mount the Largest Worg, Subchief Craw, the Smoke Shaman)

Only about a half dozen worgs and goblins remain, some were on patrol some intimidated into backing off by Nocturno. Those will probably leave the area in short order with the non-combatants, but the tribe as a whole is well and truly broken.

Breaking the Wetrock tribe will give a pretty huge story reward since it is a major milestone in this campaign arc for pretty much everyone.
It is a big step for Katten protecting her forest, for Nocturno protecting his hometown Misan, Linar proving to surface folk he is a good person and can be trusted, Fin dealing with potential threats to the underground.

I will put the following in the XP post when I close the chapter here for ease of reference (I suppose I can put it in the party knowledge thread as well. Maybe I can add a task-tracker as the initial post there...)

The party just retrieved Part #2, giving them 4 of the 6 pieces [see below]

-Next goal for the party is to take all the pieces and the journal they found with instructions on assembling/ using it to Lesoger to convince the Elves there to let them borrow/use the sacred relic, the Amber Sphere.

-Once they have the Amber Sphere they must find the 'wierdling' in the black swamp to channel it's power. Then they can use the device to defeat/ drive off 'Ossunin' (once they discover his location)

Collected pieces:
-Part 1: Rod (chrome look) about 2-3 ft long with one end threaded the other has pin holes. found in wetrocks outpost
-Part 2: Egg shaped pommel/ Base. Goblin Chief main lair. (Worgs), [Collected this chapter]
-Part 3: Figurehead, found in Dwarven ruins of Dorinkak. Discovered by Linar, Collapsed entrances. convinced Pech to release
-Part 4: Journal of Reywalt Mythey, Basilisk Cavern

Clues to other pieces:
-Part 5: Amber Sphere. Must borrow from Lesoger. Signa will help, Katten has a token that will help
-Part 6: Weirdling. Black Swamp northwest of the great pit and the Yew river. Very dangerous. Very rare creature (Katten knows appx where)
-Ritual (from Journal) 'sacrificial stag'
