Labyrinth OOC

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

I suspect we're waiting for Tristan to emerge from a particularly grueling marathon session of Pencils and Paychecks. Attendance is generally mandatory. And trying to negotiate a less demanding schedule from the GM is an exercise in futility. When that GM says "It's game time!" you have no choice but to drop everything else. I've had to pause/drop other games when my P&P GM really insisted on more of my time. Leaves you feeling drained and not up to doing much else.

Hope you get a chance to catch your breath soon, Tristan! We're all pulling for you!

Oddly, I replied to this a week ago and it did not appear... I may need to get in touch with Cole about some things...

Sorry for the delays

Maybe, or I accidentally hit 'preview', saw the post as it should display and closed the window thinking I was done. I've done that before, lol.

I messaged Cole again about the connections error, it seems to be getting a little more frequent to me, but I don't have data on that. Also the bot traffic is wild. The board page says there are 900 ppl online right now, and the highest was 1900+ a month ago; both of which are absolutely absurd

Update:
Cole went through and cleaned some stuff up, hopefully that will help alleviate the issues.

Regarding getting through this secret door, if we don't care about finding the opening mechanism, both Axid and Stephen can open a dimensional door to the other side (although Stephen's feeling a bit tapped out. He's got some reserves he can draw on if necessary). We'll need to guess how thick the door is, but Axid might be able to determine that by thumping the door and listening to the sound it makes. If Axid can't tell, we can guess.

If we don't care about keeping the door intact, Axid also has Detonate, which should be able to open up a passage. Or we can use Jag's Disintegrate.

Thoughts?

Meta-question. Should this discussion be in the Mad like a Fox [Party Tactical Planning and tracking] thread? Or is this the right spot for it?

Either here or 'mad like a fox' is fine. I had thought of that as a way for people to organize tactics and stuff they want to keep track of the can get lost in the mix of other ooc discussion, but honestly it'a just whatever the players prefer

The powers at be clearly know someone is here, the Troll bodies were cleaned up.

I would assume that someone is "always here" so I don't think hiding our entrance is a big deal.
This could be a good test of seeing what the "clean up crew" is able to do. Can they replace a gigantic stone "over night"?

I think I asked Mourkul to shove his head through the door and it didn't work. So for that matter I assume dimension door will also have difficulty.
There was a hint that there might be something in the trolls barracks. Also we found invisibility rings but I think there was one different and there is the ioun stone we found, maybe something would allow the passage. Could also be a secret word...

Just to make sure: we searched the room thourouthly and found nothing but marks indicate the wall can be pushed, tried to brute force it, did see arcane markings on the wall, but found them unharmfull. Right?

Maybe we can press the marks at some order or try to make sense of them?

It is correct that Mourkol could not pass through the door with the blue metal lock and banding that is covered in thousands of tiny runes, or the wall covered in thousands of tiny runes (West wall) but he has not tried to pass through the Secret Door/ Massive stone block to the North. There are no runes on the North wall or the North door/block

The hint about the troll barracks was in response to people wanting to use raise dead on a dead troll to figure out how to open the first secret door. It could still be investigated for the same reason as before.

If you are thinking about items found, the party also has the green serpent ring that no one has discovered a use for yet.

Oh.. OK. So yeah, Mourkul go through the stone door please. :)
And yeah, maybe the serpent ring helps with opening the door. It is all about snakes here...
