Nocturno (Private thread) Labyrinth of Madness

A classic 2e Puzzle dungeon for High Level characters
Beware, this one is substantially longer and (IMHO) even harder than the legendary Tomb of Horrors!

On the way in, Jag will cast Stoneskin on Himself and Landro.

[Yeah, we can say he cast Phantom Ar on Jack at the end of Day 1. Just mark off one of those mithril pieces from your eq list]

Jack leads the way down, followed by Jag and then Landro with Binky floating behind. Being familiar with the natural tunnels quickens their passage somewhat until they reach the bottom of the spiraling stair inside the giant Stalagtite. Jack avoids the last step, which Binky reports as 'still magic', and they reach the edge of the bridge.

[how would you like to proceed?]
====
Jag casts Stoneskin on Himself and Landro
Expires 9:40 AM Day 5.

Phantom Armor: base AC 3, [12/12]

let me get 2 separate 1d4 rolls for stoneskin. The first for yourself, the Second for Landro

"Well nothing new so far."
"I agree. Let's get to that first landing. Maybe one of the hatches will be different. Slow and steady, let's make sure we don't attract any new attention."

Jack leads the way down to the snakehead area. The snake head is still open with the name "Vytholus" carved inside, but otherwise remains empty. The four hatche lids are in the same configuration they were left in, but the burnt troll bodies have been removed.

Where to first?

Jag raises an eyebrow. "Clean up Crew has been around."

"Well that answers that question. Let's start with the shortest paths."

Jack will start down the tube with shortest available path.(It ended right at the bottom of the ladder right?)

[Landro has the link. Jack remembers there was a magic trap somewhere on the ladder and ground before. How do you want to go about that? Guessing he is using a Continual Light stone for visibility?]

Ok, lets make sure he fills the camp in that there was a clean up crew.
Did we have a stone already? I am assuming Jack would have said something, instead of me not remembering.
I was thinking of giving Jack the Fly Spell again.
Shoot forgot about the magic trap things. Gonna need a sec to see what I have available for that.

[Yeah, Allikhain made one for jack on day 1. We can say he has that one. There was a magic trap on the ladder and one on the floor in that tunnel. Gur spotted them both on day 1 w/his magic vision. Binky is with them, so he can do that if they direct him to]

Oh he came all the way. Ok!
===============================
"Doomy, could you come tell me which of these rungs is the magical one?"

Jack will then make it with a chalk or tie some cloth around it indicating the one to avoid.

"Then, one of those floor tiles I think was also trapped? Could you show me that too?"
Jack will then outline it or put a marking to indicate the trouble spot.

[Let me get a dex check for Jack. If he ties a cloth or string over the rung he may not trigger it. If he has the fly spell active the check will be normal. If not it will be with a 4 pt penalty]

Binky flies down as Jack descends. Yeah, that one.. it's all glowy and stuff. Oh, and the floor? It isn't a single tile, the whole thing glows. So maybe don't touch that part. Like... the any of it part. I don't see any way out though, just kinda looks like a dead end to me.

Let me know if Jag is casting Fly on Jack for sure

No, he won't yet.
Also he doesn't need to tie it on the rung, just above it, and will let the group know what it stands for.
"So there is no place to step down there?"

Binky points out the rung and Jack ties a small bit of cloth on the one above so it drapes down over it. Climbing carefully past it he moves down to the bottom of the pit (80 ft below the rung). Binky shakes his head. Nah, the floor is all magic. Bad juju. I don't see anything on the walls though.

"Well let's go back topside, this certainly seems like a dead end."
Once at the top Jack will mark the lid.(Chalk, Thieves Cant?) - Danger Rung, no safe area on floor.

He will move on to the one with the bone pit.
"Can you inform the others above of our progress so far?"
