Act 3 Scene 1: Arrivals and Leavetakings

[Jenara]

"Pyros!" Mira shouts, exasperation in her voice, "Where are you?"

[Nocturno]

I don't think they spot Pyros,.unless invisibility ended. But you will have heard him.

He will go take a glance at the bar,.then come back to the group.
"Indeed. You won't believe what we found......"

[Jenara]

(AHH I haven't been reading so I didn't know, Tristen said he was there so I assumed. Post will be amended)

Pyros still goes to the bar and back to the front without stopping.

Pyros invisibly runs just past Mira, his voice unmistakable even out of sight. He passes within inches of the Bard to peek beyond the curtain leading into the taproom. In the dim beyond the bar he spots... Haldrake himself!! At some point during their searching the big man had made his way back around to attend to his tavern duties!

Turning back to the others, he finds himself face-to-invisible-face with Mira, Merrick, Cross and Sir Karl!

Jerry, still nearby their new ally the Human fighter, moves towards the bard and begins to address their findings. Yes, Kybalion is correct. We have yet to find the misty form of... my father... She says, the word twisting her mouth in distaste but chosen so as not to alarm any locals overhearing. He will be helpless until tomorrow night, but... well we have lost his trail, so to speak. It appeared he came here, but after a... very thorough search we find him absent... We have, however, stumbled upon some... other concerns... She adds with a tone of significance. There is a pause as her face casts a much darker visage, We found master Ontash... beyond my ability to assist him... and it was decidedly not the work of my... former father.... The half-elf's eyes convey the serious gravity of those twin revelations...

[Nocturno]

Pyros switches to Common, on purpose.

"Lady, Mira. It was awful. What they did to the kind Ontash, ripped him to shreds. TO SHREDS!"
He calms himself, then back to Elven.
"I don't think we should talk about that here, we lost Haldrake then came across that, that place." Deep breath.
"Now he is back at the bar. He seemed to think we needed to find this, uh Jerry's father, post haste, but now he is just back to toiling away."
Another deep breath.
"He also said if we don't take care of the problem, he will or was it they will? Either way, he said people scared at night were bad for business."

[Jenara]

"I think we are caught in the middle of something that has been going on for a long time. A battle of sorts with both sides keeping an unsteady peace.." Mira answers slowly and carefully, "They take care of their own, and to the Abyss with anyone who upsets that peace. And WE have upset that peace. Now perhaps you understand why I tried to keep things calm and not upset anyone."

"So, where is he? Where do we find him Jerry? I don't want to fight another situation like this.." she sighs

[Jenara]

"This is simply unacceptable." Karl states rather bluntly, "I agree with Lady Mira, we should try to avoid making any.. ripples and end the sorry creature as soon as possible."

[TristenC]

Jerry shakes her head grimly, We have been unable to locate him here so far, unless there is anywhere else in the inn we haven't been... If he is truly not here then unfortunately that means we have surely lost his immediate trail. He is likely wherever he has been making his lair by now. There is only a short window of time for such creatures to seek shelter when reduced to vapor by damage. So if he is not here, he must be somewhere nearby, perhaps no more than a few streets away. She considers the issue further.

He will be powerless until he has fully recovered, which will not until tomorrow. If we can find his lair before tomorrow night then we can deal with him more permanently. And likely without another battle.

Pyros realizes that there are areas visible from the front of the inn that they haven't searched yet. There is a small space above the servant's entrance. There is also a 2nd floor above coat room with large windows, but the servant's stairwell and common room have no visible entrance to either of these areas...

They have also not checked the stable.

The areas in question are the little rectangular portion sticking out above the side-stairs, and the 2nd floor of the tower-like construction at the front of the inn.

Ok, we saw footprints around there, but we never found a door right?

Pyros shares his thoughts, in common, knowing Mira and Jerry understand.

"There must be more secrets, in that secret area. Secrets, hiding secrets! Haldrake is back at the bar somehow, so we should have some quality sneaking around time. Though, it seems odd that he is so upset with the thing hunting folks, that it would be living here!"

[Jenara]

"Because they are his people Pyros, this is a society just like any other, good and bad." Mira explains as she nods at the idea of the hidden rooms. "Then we go and take a look, I would suggest that if there is a way in someone would know it. Perhaps and I wouldn't suggest it if there were any other way; you should watch for a while and see who enters? As you aren't visible?"

"Later, we need to discuss how this thing could possibly be your father Lady Jerry." Karl adds with a hint of confusion. "Although it would explain your particular set of skills."
