(OOC: @TristenC, in the past you marked used spells with italic font. I remember Faladair used detect magic, but maybe it was more than a day ago? Currently it is not italic. Anyway, if no one can detect magic Galan can try dispel magic on the entire pit or we can just skip it and Galan will fly the people over the pit.)

Van has Detect magic as well. He used it on the ring they found which was a day ago so his is available today

"Brother pass me that ladder." Zafron will take the ladder and angle it before the spike trap and the top of the ledge assuming it's long enough.

"Faladair, can you see if you can find a place to tie a rope down on the other side.? I want a rope tied to the ladder and the other side so it won't slide when we try to climb the ladder due to the angle. If that doesn't work continue flyng and hammer 2 spikes in the wall on the ledge so the ladder can have an anchor. I have some and a hammer that he can borrow Faladair."

[I think I'm picking up what you're putting down and it should work. The hallway beyond is straight and featureless so the spikes would work. No check needed for climbing the ladder, especially if someone is there to stabilize above or below. To cross the spikes the angle will leave the 10 ft ladder only about 6 inches short of the lip of the pit so easy enough to climb up]

Galan flies to the other side, both to stable the ladder and hold a rope.

Once the ladder is secure he will look back at Van and say, "Here I go." He will proceed up the ladder. If spikes do come up again we will try to continue up the ladder.

Zafron uses the ladder to cross without issue

Once everyone is across the pit Galan urge them to continue. "That was fun, right?" he grins. "We must hurry to check what other new surprises the landlord has prepared for us."
