Merrick opens his eyes slowly as he wakes, shaking his head to clear it and massaging his temples. Damn nightmares... he mutters. Seeing Jerry looking at him, he breaks a small grin, Ahh... much better. Good morning. he says quietly with a soft kiss.

His eyebrow quirks up in curiosity as she goes fishing beneath the bed before coming up with the pouch. Tumbling the item out into his palm he seems quite surprised Oh, you didn't have to do anything for me... but.. this is so nice. Slipping the amulet around his neck he grins mischievously at her, How ever shall I thank you for this... he asks, kissing the tip of her nose.

Jerry dissolves into hugging the delicious man!
"Honestly? You have already! Just by being you! Happy birthday!"
She rubs noses with him and then nibbles his chin, "Yum! But that'll have to keep until another night! We're due downstairs for breakfast. You ready?"

Merrick chuckles at the affection, Mmmm, well we should go if we must. he says quietly. One finger prods her between the ribs in a playful manner, but his face goes sincere, rather than playful. Thank you.

At her urging he dresses and prepares to go downstairs.

She smiles, "We must, yes. Time for that later. Well, back in..Eeek!" Jerry squeaks and pulls away at the rib prodding, then catches his eyes and blinks at him as if trying to capture the happy moment.

"Hold still a momemt - your hair is worse than a haystack." She cantrips him: "Hair wandering free, be tamed for me!"

20 garlic bulbs, so 2SP cost.

Also, I thought I'd done this already but apparently not:
Can Jerry have retrospectively changed some coins into higher denominations?
Ideally:
2PP, 12 gp, 124 SP, 2 CP (less 2SP for garlic) goes to:
6PP, 4 gp, 4 SP, 2 CP

She is saving up for a new spellbook, so she'll end up being unable to move otherwise.. :)

Thanks very much!

As a heads-up, you might want to think about how you want garlic to be used/treated as a repellent for vampires.
And how many bulbs per repellent. (Jerry would know this stuff but Chris doesn't.)

Whilst upstairs Jerry says, "Come here!" and then kisses Merrick. Thoroughly.

Adran, Jerry, Merrick
The trio can faintly hear the sounds of combat out in the night, though far away and through dense forest it is difficult to tell exactly where from. After a time, the sound of something else comes tramping through the woods. About 30 feet from the opposite edge of camp, a pair of glowing red-orange eyes can be seen peeking out from the bole of a great tree for just an instant before ducking back. More sound comes from a different direction in the same general area the others left… whether friend or foe is unknown…

[The sound is roughly opposite in position to the eyes at camp]
Can we clarify if this is three potential incoming:
  • 1) "...the sound of something else comes tramping through the woods. ...";
    2) "... About 30 feet from the opposite edge of camp, a pair of glowing red-orange eyes can be seen peeking out from the bole of a great tree...";
    3) "...More sound comes from a different direction in the same general area the others left..."

When Jerry catches Merrick's eyes just before walking across to try and reassure Mira, she just mouths silently to Merrick, "I love you."
