Re: Act 2 Scene 3: “To 'Where the Old Bones Lie'” (Game Thre
While waiting for Pyros, Jerry look down the wall line of the 1st tier just in case she can spot anything that the little fellow missed.
When the rope signal says ok to climb, Jerry will do so using the rope making her best efforts to be quiet.
======
I did 4 climb rolls a week or so ago in the private thread for Jerry..

Mira clasps her hand tightly with Elsas smaller one, her nerves showing as she tries to keep herself focused and her spell at the ready.

While Jerry climbs Pyros will scan the immediate area for any sign of entrance.

Jerry ascends the first tier easily enough, making her way onto the ledge. As she crests the corner between two skeletons, each no farther than 5 feet away on either side, she suddenly feels very exposed. Above on the next tier stand more skeletons, stock still and staring forwards. Fortunately, none of the visible undead react to their presence.
Pyros and Jerry scan the area but find no sign of any entrance. In fact no markings, grooves, viewports or signs of any kind show themselves along the hard baked flat surface of the ziggurat.

Jerry returns the "ok to climb" waggle on the rope for Pyros to continue.

Moving a bit away from the skeletons he will throw the grapple up to the next level.
Dex Check(19): [1d20] = 2
Wall Climbin': [1d100] = 57
Move Silently: [1d100] = 34
Once at the top and he knows it is secure for Jerry he will tug it.

Assuming Jerry doesn't spot any secret doors while Pyros is climbing, Jerry waits for the "ok to climb" rope waggle and then tries to climb up.
She does her best to make no noise while climbing and peering but just isn't in the same class (of stealthiness) as Pyros.
When she's on the next tier the priestess returns the "ok to climb" rope signal and peers along the sides for any anomalies, secret doors and so forth while the little fellow climbs.
***
If nothing untoward, repeat the process until the apex is reached.

Once again Pyros plies his skill with ease; catching the ledge on the first cast and ascending nimbly to the second tier. Jerry follows as quietly as she can manage, and scales the wall without trouble. The flat walls and floor of the adobe making up the new level appear as plain and seamless as the tier below did. The pair finds themselves now 20 feet above the canyon floor, surrounded by statue-stiff undead staring outward.
Down below, Elsa's eyes narrow as she watches the skeletons; idly swaying her sling in one hand and running her fingers over the holy symbol wrapped around her shield hand. Merrick glares at the empty space along the wall beside the rope and grapple as it progressively ascends the structure. His breath catches each time it is thrown, only to return when the rope stops dancing as the invisible allies make their way upwards...

While Pyros climbs the next bit, Jerry spares some attention to peer at the nearest skeleton to try and determine whether it is a souvenir held together mechanically (screws , wire etc) or whether it in indeed a dormant undead. She again looks along the building edge for anything usual (such as secret doorways).
When the rope-signal from Pyros comes and she's finished peering, Jerry continues as before, returning rope-signals and trying to climb up quietly.
======
Maybe Observation (19) might help

[how close to the subject will she get?]

Staying away from the skeleton Pyros wings up the rope to the next level.
Dex Check(19): [1d20] = 17
Wall Climbin': [1d100] = 52
Move Silently: [1d100] = 9
Once at the top and he knows it is secure for Jerry he will tug it.

[5 feet away. they are spaced 10 feet apart and the pair of adventurers are ascending between a pair.]
Jerry examines one skeleton from a short distance away, and to her well trained eye it certainly appears to be a dormant undead.
Pyros once again slings his grapple and catches the very edge of the third tier. Invisibly he ascends. The new tier appears much as the others have; barren and featureless adobe. Atop the Zenith of the ziggurat some 10 feet above a massive raven statue looms ominously; a thing that must seem truly gigantic to the diminutive kender...

Jerry waits patiently knowing that Pyros might choose to look for traps before giving her the 'ok to climb' rope signal.
When she gets that signal she continues as before, returns the rope-signal and tries to climb up quietly.

Staring at the figure for a moment Pyros shakes himself from the sight. Something that interesting could be watched for hours.
Once Jerry is up on the same level Pyros will make the one last toss.
Dex Check(19): [1d20] = 14
Wall Climbin': [1d100] = 3
Move Silently: [1d100] = 50
Once up he will shake the rope in signal.
[This is the top?]
Pyros will walk around the bottom of the figure checking for anything that might amount to an entrance.
