Chapter 2A - A Jaunt Into The Country

"Thanks Isaril, I feel much better."

The elf understands this and bows.
With a polite smile he half turns speaks a string of elven to Vic, "I find this, the stone building, the village, oppressive. Unless it offends you I will stand in the northern tower of the drawbridge." He subtly shifts his bow in the direction of the neaest goblin.

"I can cure more wounds if necessary, but use these amongst you."
He casts a spell on some berries harvested on the way to the village, passes them to Vic and then trots off to the guard tower. Vic has gained ten berries.

Arcana skill check DC11 recognises the spell as Goodberry.
Eating one berry takes an action and restores 1HP as well as providing sufficient nourishment for one day.

"Is there a sound you can make to warn of danger if you see it approaching?"

Arcana: [1d20+4] = 13+4 = 17

"Unlikely I will need these." He will had 5 each to Val and Unbar, and explain to them if they don't understand what they are.

Isaril pauses and cracks the widest of smiles. He cups one hand to his mouth, capping it with the back of his other, and produces the whistles and warbles of a thrush.
He trots off.

As Unbar accepts the berries he speaks up "I can heal once more if needed. But only once more."

Val takes the berries and puts them away. "I don't need to use any at this point."

Val and Unbar listen to the bell tolling through the open front door and eye the stairs that stretch invitingly up to the next floor..

Meanhile Vic wanders over to the goblin that lays on the floor in the middle of the common room. He pulls the crossbow bolt out of its chest. It looks like it was from a hand crossbow.

What next?

"To the second floor men."

[Nocturno]

Unless anything jumps out at him Vic will toss the bolt down.

"I'll bring up the rear."

Val lead the way with his halberd out.

[Squirrellord]

Unbar follows a close second.

The stairs lead up to a landing that runs the width of the building. There are windows in the east and west walls. Four closed wooden doors stare back at you , two in the north wall and two in the south wall.

Vic will listen once everyone stops moving.
