Re: Act 2 Scene 4: "Descent into Darkness" (Game Thread)
Elsa looks around for a response, but before she gets one Pyros hurls a stone at the 12 foot tall skeleton on the left. The nimble-fingered Kender's aim proves true as the rock cracks off the side of the massive skull, taking a chip of bone with it! The pair of large skeletons immediately respond by turning the points of their spears into the magical flames within their own torsos and igniting them! With deadly precision they cut the leads on the bone bridge, sending the macabre walkway clattering into the mists below!!!
Elsa begins reciting a divine incantation. Meanwhile Merrick whips a stone at the same creature, his own rebounding off of it with only the barest effect. What?! he blurts out incredulously, Surely I hit it harder than that! With a single, intimidating stride forward the undead close into melee range of the fighters!
As one the Knight and the Gypsy siblings strike out at the monstrosities! Sir Karl and Pytor both mis-judge the distance of the larger foes and catch nothing but air; the Knight's mace even tumbling from his grasp! The dusky-hued fighter woman, however, pierces the arm of her own foe with a powerful strike. Even the magical rapier she wields seems dampened by the properties of the undead, but splits an obvious crack in the bone even so. The blonde halfling finishes her prayer, Yondalla, mother of plenty, give us your blessing and we shall banish from this world these unnatural creations! A Pulse of golden energy ripples out from the pretty cleric, envigorating the party and hampering the walking dead.
Pyros hurls another stone, and a third! Both of the magically enhanced natural missiles make contact with an almost staccatto Cra-crack! flinders of ivory splinter out in patches where the rocks land, damaging their target visibly!
[Actions and Initiative, Round 1?]
=====
These are Large sized creatures, so use the Large damage for each weapon (second half of the damage parenthesis). So a longsword would do (1d8/1d12)
Elsa cast a Prayer spell, (+1 to Attack, Damage and Saves for party, -1 to those for enemies!)
For undead, the term 'damaged' replaces the term 'hurt' in the notations regarding visible damage
The skeletons are blocking the way forward
Please excuse the crude paint-over of the bridge, it is simply to illustrate its newfound absence

Re: Act 2 Scene 4: "Descent into Darkness" (Game Thread)
Is there any way for any of us to get behind (or to the side) of the skeleton?
Or is there any way for more than our front 3 to be able to melee with either of the skeletons?

Pyros desperately looks for a way to get through the line and smash some skeleton ankle.
If he can't he will settle on throwing a few taunting jabs at them. Not the taunt ability. Even Pyros knows they won't respond.
"Is it hot in here or is it me? No, no it can't be me?" He looks at Elsa. "Are you hot? Let me ask these guys to turn down the heat a bit!"
Then Hoopak!

Can Pyros tuck and roll through some legs? lol

The front line wont be able to press around the skeletons, even though they are individually smaller than their attackers, they practically fill the space before them.
Pyros could probably move past Jerry to just behind the front line (since he is smaller and she is a willing ally) but he could not move past the fighters that are tied up in melee (they can't safely spare the attention to let him by while facing the skeletons)
Granted the skeleton on the left is already badly damaged, so when it goes down it would be a simple thing to surround the other

Cursing his bad luck, luck that seems to have haunted him since the moment he left on Patrol that fateful morning.

[ since it is on the ground and he is in melee it would take full round to recover it, but it is within reach. Or, if The Friendly Bard or halfling behind him were to loan him her mace...]
Re: Act 2 Scene 4: "Descent into Darkness" (Game Thread)
Reaching for the blade that hang from his side, his fingers grasped the hilt tantalisingly inching the blade from its scabbard, and then the magical blade falls from his grasp.
"What sorcery is this?" He gasps.

"Take this!" Mira calls, handing him the mace that sat in her palm, unable to act she stands ready to help.

Jerry holds.
If the skeleton on the left goes down she'll go smack the remaining one, failing which, if someone in front of her gets sorely wounded can she (try to) mend the wound mundanely*?

[Jerrard can make an attack this round if he wishes (Though it will be after Mira's initiative since he is waiting for a weapon from her)]
Re: Act 2 Scene 4: "Descent into Darkness" (Game Thread)
If Adran can push his way through the crowd, he will have his short sword at the ready and then cast magic missiles on the skeleton that is unharmed....keeping his short sword ready for any counter attack by either skeleton.
OOC - Great to be back here with everyone. Thanks!

(I believe the warriors are protecting them, Magoc Missiles hit regardless, he only needs line of sight)

(Good point!) Adrian will try to move to a place where he can get line of sight before casting Magic Missiles.
