Zafron swings first with his scimitar of speed and continues swinging until there is nothing left to swing at.

Before anyone else can react, Zaffron rushes forward and slashes the final serpent into scaly, bloody ribbons.

Bryce will inspect the chests and contents of each now that opening them is out of the way. Working his way back in order of the opening order.

Bryce visually inspects the inside of the chest, and finds them all to be empty aside from the crystal box with the ring. He does notice something odd about the floor of the chest with the smaller box in it. It appears to be made of a thin cheap piece of wood rather than finely crafted like the rest of the chest.

"Gosh, that stoneskin is saving me some work!"

Bryce will inform the others of odd floor of the chest as he removes the smaller box from the chest and hands it off. Turning back to the chest he examines the bottom for traps and tries to determine if perhaps it is a false bottom and a way to remove it.

Bryce tells the others about the suspicious looking bottom of the box as he removes the small Crystal case. An audible click goes through the air, followed immediately flurry darts blasting through the thin veneer to strike the rogue in the face and arms! His magical protections prove sufficient to keep him from harm as the missiles Ricochet off of him and into the room; narrowly avoiding Sorril and Zafron. The bottom of the chest is now shredded and he can see that the false bottom hid an elaborate trap.

"I wish we had this spell for the last 5 years. I might have been able to relax a bit."

Uncharacteristically Galan says seriously, "Even with this spell do not underestimate the perils we face." but the dark ominous mood quickly pass and Galan adds, "It's a really good spell when playing darts in a pub, while everyone is completely wasted drunk though." he smiles and his face lights up again as always.
Faladair looks at his old friend for a long while contemplating on this gesture. Even after Galan restores his cheerfulness he keeps watching the elf for a while wondering about the event, until he is sure his friend is back to himself.

Bryce gives himself a shake and and thanks the elf. "Saved me from me own stupidity. Thanks. I shoulda known better than to move the wee box before checking it's bed."

Looking around he addresses the person the crystal box was handed off to. "Ye going to open that?"
