I agree with our Athasian ally. Do we have reason to believe the things in the pit below it are important and not just the random trash of the last unfortunate soul to have failed to find the hazard too late? Allikhain muses. Though I am not opposed to exploring the dead end beyond.

“Probably easiest to just use the teleport dirt.”

So is the top of the gelatinous cube 20 feet below the floor? Or 30 feet?

[Ooc]
Pit is 30 ft deep eith cube in center, so floor to top of cube is 10 ft. Bottom of cube to pit floor with spikes is 10 ft.

"I think I have an easy solution, as long as we can do damage from range. I can create a Bigby's Interposing Hand between the top of the hole and the Ooze. Which should allow us to pelt it to death." Jag will broadcast.

"We could then pick through the leavings, to find anything valuable." Jack grins. Mostly because the plan does not involve him stabbing the thing directly.

Axid tries once:[1d20]=19
Twice:[1d20]=16
Three times:[1d20]=13
To cast Disintegrate on the cube. His ire raising at each attempt. He begins to wonder if this place has an effect on his abilities. In the end he is satisfied that the mind can overcome obstacles. Eight cubic feet, center mass, vanishes from the cube.(80 psp)

Praying/healing, beholder riding, griffin flying
Son of a blowgun, and I'm having a hard time holding these Aboleth shoes down! WOO!

[OoC]Eight cubic feet out of a thousand (assuming a 10'x10x'10' cube)... Not a huge amount.
Is disintegrate going to destroy just the cube, leaving the stuff inside it intact? Will Axid have enough PSPs to "Telekinesis" the gear up to us after the cube is dead?
Also, is the cube resting on the spikes? Hovering over them?
Fun fact: assuming a gelatinous cube is roughly as dense as water (like most living things are) it weighs around 64,000 lbs (29,000 kg)!

Pretty sure this means 10 feet off the floor, with the spikes between it and the floor."TristenC wrote: Mon Mar 16, 2026 11:31 am [Ooc]

If Jag knows Axid did this, he will go through the dirt portal and cast Bigby's Interposing Hand, naming the cube, and making it take up half the hole, so the group can shoot around either side of it.
Re: Return [To Madness]: Act 1, Scene 2
Ke'Sha looks critically at the living fighting the Jellow. You can't animate that thing... or can you? He ponders... As long as there is no immediate danger he let his minions gather around him, the juju zombies have their swords ready. (and if there is a portal to the other side of the pit, he and the minions will move there.)
