"Me?" She shrugs, lowering her head, she sips some more of the Blue drink and raises it once more.
"I am a Solider with no war to fight..." Unsure of how to continue she stops...

"I go where I'm needed" She taps the hilt of the longsword gently, "People need my Blade."

"I can identify," Elias says. "No need for life to be more complicated than that.

"Very true, life does not need to be complicated.." She sipped the drink again.
"The next drinks are on me, this will be t
e last. We need clear heads for this evening."

She stretches her arms above her head, her small breasts pressing against the plain white shirt.

"What is your story, Master Elias...?" (What she is really asking is: "Can I trust you?")
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

"Story? I don't know. I guess I've led a fairly normal life, at least for someone living on the frontier. My father and mother are weavers by profession, I grew up learning how to sew together garments and what not. It was a boring life though. I've always loved being outside; my father always knew that if he needed to find me, I'd likely be over the next hill. I turned my passion into a job. I travel. I lead others on their travels. Sometimes I make maps of the places I've been and sell them to those that want them. I carry weapons, and know their use because it can be dangerous out here. That's it really, I guess."

Papa walks back in. It is hard to tell because he is usually self controlled, but from the looks of him, he is more relaxed than he has been the past few days. He looks curiously at the strange and overly thin elf who had joined the company, but since no one seemed to object to his presence, he made no comment, nor did he put his hand on his sword.

He stops by the bar to order and pick up a glass of watered wine, then he returned to Fraso's table and sat in his original seat, saying nothing, only listening for now.

Angel nods at Papa's re-appearance and smiles wryly. Saying nothing to him she returns her attention to Elias. "I understand." is all she says to his comment.

"I was a soldier, only the war was not as I expected, morals sometimes betray you. They leave you with scars that will never heal." She leans back on the stool, checking the bar and that Fraso is safe.

She rubs her head gently, must concentrate, what was in that drink?
"Dear Lady" She summons the Barmaid, pointing to the glass "What is in this? If I may ask?"
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

The bartender looks at Angel, a bit surprised. "Either you are a lightweight, or you don't react well to dairy." Seeing no understanding in the merc's face, the barkeep continues: "Blue John is mostly milk, fermented for a day or three, with mashed blueberries added in for sweetness."

===============================

The evening's entertainment has finally taken the stage - a petite dark-haired woman in her early twenties, carrying a guitar. Although human, there is an odd cast to her features which suggests an elf in the gene pool a few generations back. As she takes the stage, a pair of armed men seat themselves nearby. The men are clearly twins, with an elven cast to their features which bear a slight family resemblance to the bard's, although the men are probably a few years older than she - cousins, perhaps, but with light brown hair instead of dark. Both men look dangerous. Although well-dressed in town clothes rather than the field clothes mercenaries and adventurers might wear, they carry swords and knives, and their weapon are serviceable, with hilts worn from use. Clearly these are not rich boys out slumming.

The bard launches without preamble into an old love song from the Lendore Isles, followed up by another old song, this one in pure Celene elven.
"No matter where you go, there you are."

Daos continues nerding it up with Fraso, discussing everything from arcane theory to historical artifacts. The conversation dies down when the quasi-elven bard steps forward. Curious, Daos turns his full attention to her.

"Remarkable voice," he comments under his breath, more to himself than anyone else.

Papa watches and listens to the musician without much expression. He sips his wine, then turns his attention to the twin bodyguards.

He murmurs to Angel, "I wonder if they're with the Guild. I bet they get higher-than-average wages. Twin bodyguards; very...decorative."

He grins briefly.

As the bard starts to sing, Bastian's back straightens, his ears perking up. Slowly he turns, his face set with an unnatural expression of mischief and joy. "Well, now! I'm sure you folks didn't know this, but I have a keen appreciation of the arts! I think I'll sit closer to the stage. Perhaps.....right in front." That said, he rises and confidently strides forward.

"Thank you" she nods to the bar lady, Milk or not she likes the taste, there was something about it that made her feel... better.

Angel sits quietly in her chair, staring intently at the Bard, her mind fixed on the words she Sings. She translates the Elven in her mind, somewhat slowly, but she gets the point. [ooc]what is the Elven song about?[/ooc]

"Yes, Very decorative... But out of our league..." She returns her attention to the Bard, smiling when Bastion jumps to the front... "That man." She casts a look around the room, wondering where Salia is for a moment, she had been meaning to continue their conversation from earlier.
" Kid never learned to clear a room. Doors and corners, I told him. Doors and corners."

Elias stays at the bar, only half paying attention to the music. He sips at his second drink until its gone and orders another.

[OOC] Unless I missed something, Papa stopped the bar, then went to sit at Fraso's table, but he is now talking to Angel, who is at the bar. So... [/OOC]

Fraso and Daos are still talking shop when Papa takes his seat, and although his entrance interrupts their conversation for a brief moment, they soon resume their discussion, not particularly concerned about including Papa in the conversation and prompting him to return to the bar.

=========================================

The elven song is sort of a mood-piece. The words do not really tell a story per se but instead describe a place of refuge in the forest, near a river. It is beautifully crafted, probably very old, and is sung well. Sadly, most of the audience cannot appreciate the meaning of the lyrics, although the intricate sounds are enjoyable.

As Bastian takes his seat near the stage, the two men eye him briefly, as if taking his measure and evaluating him as a potential threat. Apart from the lingering stares, though, they take no further action with respect to him.

[OOC] Very sorry, I tend to be slightly confused about location; my visual imagination is quite poor and my ability to quickly read maps somewhat deficient. If Angel is at the bar, so is Papa. [/OOC]

[Ooc]what i assumed happened with papa too[/ooc]

Angel listens to the song intently, focusing on the words, the elven par of her brain lost in the words, she imagines the forest and for a second wishes she was there.

Sipping her drink in silence she waits for the singer to finish and will (she wouldn't normally do this) wait for the singer to finish and approach when she is due to leave the stage, or when there is a break in the performance.
