Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh (This is the Game Thread)

In the Kitchen Amon notes the light seems to be coming from a single torch, the pale light flickers revealing two figures in the darkness, something bright and shiny reflects the light back. After a few moments he is able to make out the forms of Brax and Vee standing over an armored figure, the figure does not appear to be moving at all.

Echo, Searos and Gunter arrive in the kitchen to see piles of rubble on the floor, much of it moved aside, Kim sits near a wooden hatch, Amon nearby looks inside.


In the Cellar Brax smiles at Vee, "Yes I believe it will, try it my dear..." She reverently removes the breast plate, then turns the body over, removing the armor quite quickly and skillfully. "As for the sword, you are welcome to take it if you wish, although it might not be as easy to wield." She adds, smiling in the darkness.

"If you say it will, then I believe you." Vee says her eyes still wide, "Maybe I can learn the sword?" Brax nods.

"Ahhh Amon, come and help the Lady please?" Brax says suddenly, turning to face the Mage Peering at her, breast plate in her hands. Amon notes that Brax appears to be removing the corpses armor.


(ooc: right Vee is really the only PC who can wear the plate, it was in the module, thought it made sense.

I am away now till tuesday, but i will try to post using my phone on monday. Sorry for the slow down.)

Amon frowns as he descends the staircase. "Desecrating the dead, are we?" he asks. "Who is this person? Another hapless adventurer? You should be careful with that armor. The person could have died of disease, for all any of us know."

Kim follows down after Amon and his dog, but has little interest in the armor or the corpse. Rather, the mage looks about the room for any other exits or anything else of interest.

"This Lady did not die here, rather she died elsewhere. Look at her face Amon, she died of fright." He can indeed see some indication on her face, that and the way her hands are clentched tightly into fists.

I am trying to keep our little hot head alive, perhaps Pelor will allow this woman's spirit to return once we have dealt with this situation. She responds her thoughts in his head, the ring seemly still working.

Unless a full scout of the area is carried out, Kim will not know about exits. However the cellar appears to be at least as big as the house.

Amon is more than a little perturbed that apparently the ring not only allows him to project his thoughts, but also opens his own mind to let others send their thoughts at will, even if they don't have their own ring.

Quietly, he removes the ring from his finger and slips it into his pocket. The idea that just anyone can send their thoughts to him unnerves him. If anyone can do that while he's wearing the ring, isn't it possible someone could access his own thoughts? He decides it's better not to take any chances.

While Brax and Amon talk and remove the dead lady's armor, Kim walks carefully around the cellar and looks at everything, as much as half-elven infravision allows, especially looking for doors.

Vee removes her leather armor to try the other on. for a moment she stares at her old worn armor. "I hope the new one will be so snug too." she mutters to herself.

Vee recognizance that the leg and tie braces of the full plate. "Ähm, guys I've a little Problem with my Skirt and the armor!" She pulls at the named long red skirt. "And I wouldn't remove it!"

Brax gives Amon a little grin, he did not know the magic he had, she had seen similar before, raiding parties often used them for silent communication.

Looking to Vee she grins wider. "My dear, I suggest you wear the breast and back plate and retain your other armor." Helping the girl she places the front plate and back on the girl in turn, and tightens the straps, ensuring the fit is sufficient, "There, you should be a little safer now, who knows what we will encounter"

(Will give her an AC boost of 3)

Kim looks closely for anything that might resemble a door or other device, but all she finds are rows and rows of bottles, many appear to be very old.
(ooc: Brelia as you didn't roll for secret doors, i shall, *Dm rolls in secret*)

Looking in a corner she sees what appears to be a nest, approximately 1ft in diameter, made of old clothes.

(I need actions up top, you have investigated the first rooms, where do you plan to go next?)

Echo looks towards Gunter and Searos as she heads for the door. "Are you two coming?" she asks.

Kim looks closely at the nest, not touching it yet. Does it resemble anything known?

"Have any of you heard of a creature that makes a nest of old clothes?" Kim asks the others.


(ooc: in Harry Potter's world, that would be a house-elf)

(OOC: I have no knowledge of the "potter" so...)

There appears to be nothing living in the nest, not as far as Kim can tell.

"No, I have not." Brax responds quietly, checking the cellar quietly, finding nothing she returns a few minutes later. "I suggest we go back upstairs, the "legend" states the girl spirit was locked down below, but. I see no sign of that." She pats Vee on the back lightly and goes to the stairs.

"Are you all coming?" She asks with a grin.

(Anyone is welcome to 'borrow' items from the warriors pack, if you so desire)

Searos looks around the room, shrugs to Gunter and walks after Echo whistling tunelessly to himself.

Kim nods and follows Brax back upstairs.

Echo walks out of the room, and heads back towards the kitchen to meet up with the others. She pauses when she sees the big hole in the floor though. "Erm...what happened here?"

Echo arrives as Brax, Kim and Vee are returning from the Cellar (Is Amon coming too?)

"The floor collapsed along with the wall, I feel someone does not want us here." Brax responds solemnly, "We are all together, should we continue through the house perhaps? Or would you rather leave?"

"Leave? We haven't accomplished anything" Kim says matter-of-factly. "So yes, we should continue.
What have you found in that room?" Kim asks Echo.
