FC1 - CH 1: Welcome to Sturnheim

[HorizonsDream]

"You're a clever one, aren't you?" Tavi asks with a small smile. "No, um, I'm looking for Captain Valdar."

[JadedDM]

"He just got in a few minutes ago," the guard says. "Do you have a crime to report or is this a social call?" he asks.

[HorizonsDream]

"This is about a crime that happen last night," Tavi tells the guard. "I told him I would check in with him today about it when I got the chance."

[JadedDM]

The guard looks at her skeptically. "Have a seat then. He'll see you soon."

There's a bench near the entrance, so with nothing better to do, Tavi sits and waits. It's nearly an hour, though, before Valdar finally steps out of his office. He doesn't even notice Tavi sitting there. He exchanges a few words with the desk clerk, and then turns to return to his office.

"You know, I've sat here and patiently waiting for you to come out here," Tavi says as she stands up. "The least you could do is acknowledged that I'm here," she says to the Captain, obviously annoyed.

Valdar looks up and notices Tavi. "Ah, you again. Yes, did you remember something more about the crime last night?" he asks.

[HorizonsDream]

"I came here to see if you found anything," Tavi says, crossing her arms over her chest.

[JadedDM]

"Nothing new," he says. "The prisoners are pretty tight-lipped. From what I can tell, it was a simple robbery. They were just looking for his coin purse. Not surprising, really. You know, Poot used to be an adventurer, back in the day. There are rumors around that he has a fortune hidden somewhere. That's probably what attracted the bandits."

Tavi lets out a small sigh. It looked as if she was going to have to check out Poot's place herself. "...Okay," she finally says. "I...guess that is it then," she states. Though, she can't help but shake the feeling that there was more to it than just a simple robbery.

[JadedDM]

Valdar nods. "Yes. But we'll look into it. That's our job, after all. You should go get some rest. You still look pretty beat up." With that, he heads back into his office.

Tavi watches the captain retreat back into his office. She knows there was more to this than meets the eye. Why the hell would Poot tell her to tell him about this. She was going to have to look into it herself, it seemed like. With a nod to the guard, she turns and walks out of the building. Turning on her heels, she heads down to where she was told Poot's place was.

Tavi finds Poot's place in the slummier area of the town. The house itself is well-worn and a bit shabby, with cracking paint and a few missing shingles on the roof. The door is locked with a fairly rusty padlock.

Tavi checks Poot's coin purse to see if there is a key inside of it. If not, she tries to break open the lock without making too much noise.

Opening the purse, she finds five gold coins and a simple brass key.

Tavi takes the brass key, and tries to open the lock with the key.
