Eldon walks to the Merc Bar, his mind on what just happened, he was trying to get on with them, but they made it so hard.
(Shall I jump him to the Merc Bar thread?)

Ribi looks at Elias oddly, not understanding the question. Then the light of understanding dawns. "You're not from around here, are you? You don't drink Carronne Black. It's krrf. You inhale it. Or you can smoke it. It's the good stuff, though. I'm sure we can get enough for both of us to have a very good time on for twenty five, thirty gold."Tempest wrote:"I repeat my previous question," Elias says to Ribi. "How much are we talking here for this drink of yours?"

OOC- What exactly is this stuff?
Re: Borderlands II - This is the game thread
[OOC]Elias has probably heard of krrf - it is popular with some units in the Legions, but not so much in the north. It's a stimulant, and a narcotic. In small quantities it can make you more alert and aggressive. In large quantities it can lead to paranoia and death. It's also fairly addictive, and it's mentally incapacitating if used to excess.[/OOC]

"Oh. I didn't know. I'm sorry, but I'm not interested in that sort of thing."
Re: Borderlands II - This is the game thread
Then get me some. And you can have whatever you like. My friend has a wide variety of recreational preparations...krrf, kleetl, blood, even...you're serious? Nothing?" Ribi looks disappointed and suddenly older than she looked before. "Well, in that case, enjoy your day. And watch out for Maughus' demon."
She strides away, leaving Elias standing inthe market square in front of a bead merchant, selling his wares from a blanket on the ground.

Elias kicks around town for a while keeping an eye out for any interesting happenings (Perhaps also keeping an eye open for Maughus). Otherwise, he'll settle down somewhere quiet and do a little sketching while he waits.

Re: Borderlands II - This is the game thread
Bastian has since dried and dressed from his time in the bath house. He is now wandering the merchant stalls browsing the local craftsmen. He is in a lonely mood. His employer isn't exactly personable and the two servants are not exactly great company, especially when away from each other.
Lost in thought he starts to looking for glass work. He'd always been fascinated by the art. Even though he was a baker and knew that flour and other components can become bread, the idea that something like SAND could become such beautiful crystalline shapes.....it mystified him. More so than his own faith did. His belief in Liquitus was just a given. He never really doubted it, but at the same time, he was never really mystified by it any more.

[OOC]IL's BACK! Hope all is well. Jen mentioned something about an injury.
Good thing you got Bastian out of that bath house for a long time. He was in there a long time. I'm sure he was starting to prune.[/OOC]
Leaving the bath house, Fraso announces that he must visit the MageGuild office. Hiric accompanies him, leaving Salia in Bastian's care.
This town being on the fringe of the empire, there's no glassmaking industry to speak of here, but the bead seller does direct you to her employer, who makes beads in a small shop nearby.
The shop is small and dimly lit - a hole in the wall, so to speak - not much bigger than the sleeping cell that Bastian was assigned in Diotua. A counter divides the customer area from the stock, which hangs on pegs or sits on shelves along the walls. Behind the counter, a small dark-haired woman with pale skin works at a high table. In the center of the table is a depression from which spouts a pale blue flame about three inches tall, which she uses to heat the glass she is working on.

Elias, wandering through the streets, spots Bastian on his way into the shop, and follows him.
"How was the bath?" the elf asks.

Re: Borderlands II - This is the game thread
Bastian is slightly startled by the elf's sudden appearance. "The bath was excellent, though the company was somewhat lacking." Bastian's face becomes stone-serious. He looks to Salia and his features soften a bit and he follows up with "Fraso's about as interesting as a corpse and your brother isn't exactly personable."
As he says this, Bastian begins to look through the beads available for sale. He asks Salia if she has ever seen how beads like this are made. If it fascinates him, perhaps she'd find it interesting as well.

"Master Fraso is a good man," Salia says, somewhat absently, while staring at the molten glass in the torch, fascinated by the process, which to be fair is actually somewhat fascinating.
The craftswoman finally finishes the bead she was working on and sets it aside, wrapping it in a scorched fleece. She's a solid woman clearly of northern blood, and wears a traditional northern dress, which features strands of beads across the front. Most are made of glass, but other materials are featured as well, including a few stones and bits of seashell and coral.
She smiles kindly at Salia and hands her a bowl. "Take what you like, no charge," she says, happily. Then, to Bastian: "These ones are less than my best work, and I will not sell them." She turns back to Salia and says: "Pick a few, and you can string them."

Elias stands behind the two, first watching Bastian and then Salia.
He leans in over Bastian's shoulder and murmers:
"You're pretty good with people. You know that?"
Then he turns to peruse the craft-woman's wears.

"Nah, don't let my demeanor fool you. It's the tabbard that people respond to!" Bastian replies with a wink. "Then again, Liquitus isn't exactly a family-friendly god." Chuckling he looks back at the bowl of beads that was handed to Salia. "I think you should go for the blue ones. They would look good on you."
