Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
Riverwind watches the tracks of the party as they advance. With no sign of recent activity besides the center of the room, he continues to move forward.
Leaving Goldmoon for a bit, he follows Laurana's request and moves towards Magpie.
"We'll be through here soon, keep your sling at the ready little one."
As they continue to the end, he adds "Tas, please be extra careful here."
Riverwind moves to inspect the stone walls, ceiling and floor.

Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
Eben shrugs to Tika and then pushes open the bronze doors soundlessly. The party steps through them to enter a the next room. This large chamber echoes softly with the sounds of any passage, quiet though it is. Puffs of dust rise with each footfall on the floor--here again is an area that seems not to have known the passage of a living sound in decades.
The passage gradually widens from the doors, but the true dimensions of the room are lost in darkness. A row of stately granite columns lines each wall about 10' into the room. These are plain supports with no ornate carvings or unusual shapes, but they seem to have been constructed with great care. The fact that they have survived the cataclysm intact indicates that their builders were accomplished engineers.

"I bet there are spiders, here" Tas says in a whisper. He looks back towards the group as he scouts out the front section.

Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
Caught unawares by the dust, Golgmoon has to stifle a cough. When her throat is clear again, she says softly: "Let's move on" and proceeds cautiously forward, carrying the light with her.

"What is your fascination with spiders, Tas?" Tika asks as she follows after the rest of the group.
Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
"Ughh." Laurana coughs lightly, grabbing her chest she tries to expel the dust filling her lungs. "Yes Tas there will most likely be spiders.." Laurana shudders, did he have to keep going on about them?
"We should move forwards, Tas keep your eyes open, no one touch anything." Her eyes go to Tika and the sword, "Well nothing else.."
She walks forwards with the group, Keeping Magpie nearby.
"This cavern old, dust taste not nice." Magpie mutters, "Big columns remind me of home." The Gully dwarf almost looks sad for a moment, as she walks on, "We find bosses soon, me smell them."

"Yes Tas, Spiders?" Sturm frowns as he walks on just behind the kender side by side with Caramon. "This place is ancient, it gives me a chill." Sturm stifles a shudder and keeps his eyes forward and Brightblade in his hands.
"Come let us move." He walks on past the pillars.

Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
The party continues west for another two minutes, walking 120 feet. The room slowly opens wider as they push forward. Further west is a single bronze door that bears no inscription upon its face. The pillars turn toward the south and continue along with the room in that direction, but the rest of the room is shrouded in darkness.
There is no evidence that anyone has passed through here in centuries, whether spider, 'bosses' or otherwise.

"It helps to tread lightly. In addition to being quiet, it keeps the dust down." As they continue, he reaches to take Goldmoon's hand.
"I sense we are close, we should locate them soon."

Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
"Who 'them'?" Goldmoon asks Riverwind, a little confused, then turns to the group at large.
"I'd say we continue to explore the hall before we open any doors, what do you think?"

"We should explore the hall. It would be best for us to make sure everything is safe, here." Tas asserts firmly. "Who knows what would happen if we left it for others to explore?"

Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
The party moves southward, exploring the rest of this chamber. Here they find a second bronze door. This one has a symbol of a jeweled crown engraved upon its face.
"Looks like we have a choice to make," Caramon notes.

"The Crown perhaps?" Sturm comments, moving towards it slowly.
Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
"Yes, we are in the chambers of the King, one door is as good as any isnt it?" Laurana shrugs, "I would choose that one, do you all agree?"
"Me check, me look at door and see." Magpie walks past sturm, listening at the door for a moment.

Re: CH 9: To the Walls of Pax Tharkas
Magpie listens very closely to the door with the jeweled crown upon it. After a full minute, she does not hear a single thing from the other side.
