An expedition with the "Seagull"

Desolate and abandoned, the evil alchemist’s mansion stands alone on the cliff, looking out towards the sea. Mysterious lights and ghostly hauntings have kept away the people of Saltmarsh, despite rumours of a fabulous forgotten treasure. What is its sinister secret?

"Then." Brax replies, thinking while she eats. "If there were some, I would suspect that someone has taken them." She looks to Searos, "What a shame."

"You're right, Kim. It's almost as if it's all been picked over."

Is there any side of splintered wood or anything that would point to a shipwreck?

No sign of wood, rope or sail has been found.

Searos fumbles with a belt buckle and a couple of buttons before just idly tossing them aside. "You know, its possible, none of the people these things used to belong to actually had anything of value to begin with. They could have been poor."

He tosses a buckle in the general direction of the triton. "How many do you think met their fate trying to save the poor helpless sea critter over there?"

"Gunter scans the scene around the shore and glances back over at the triton on the rock.

"We can't ask her until the Tide goes back out." Brax comments, shifting through some of the debris she shrugs. "If there was something here, I can't see it."

"This was not from a ship.. Of that I am certain, so where are the ships?" She ponders.

"That's another good point, Brax. I don't think we've seen any ships on the water since we got here."

(How long until the tide goes out and we can somewhat safely get near the Triton?)

The tide is now about halfway out. You would need to swim the last bit towards the rock if you wanted to reach it now. Low tide will be in about three hour's time.

None of you ever said you were looking out to sea, so I never mentioned what was going on there. If you looked, you'd have seen a few boats near the horizon this morning, heading towards Dunreese.

The retreating tide uncovers the tide pools one by one, in one of them, there seems to be some fabric being pushed around by the gentle surf.

"Perhaps those pools might show us more as we search?" Brax comments as she walks slowly towards the first pool. "Is this a natural occurrence?" she asks anyone who is nearby, "I assume it is caused by the retreating tide being trapped by the rocks.?" is there anything in the pool?

Gunter follows Brax to the tidal pools and cautiously pokes at the fabric with his sword.

"You are absolutely right, Brax. These are naturally ocurring and unless there's a giant crab hiding in one of them, there's nothing to fear."

The tidal pool in question is quite large, and as Gunter pokes the fabric, he quickly notes that it is covering something. But nothing moves out of itself, and he is not stirring anything up. The closer look they have now stirs a memory: the clothes the sea hag had shrouded her hideous form in was of the same kind of fabric.

(OOC: Searos, Vee, have you come down to the pool as well, or are you higher up?)

Brax shudders and pulls away, hiding behind Gunter. "Giant Crab?" She asks with concern.

"Well, it was mostly a joke but you never know..." his voice trails off as he gazes at the fabric. "Say, does this look familiar to you?"

"Don't joke about such things!" She cries, "Yes that ugly creature, she made me feel quite weak, like a child." She pulls the warrior close before blushing and pulling away.

"Well, if you're going to face death every day, you might as well learn to have a sense of humor about it!" Gunter says as he gives Brax a soft whack on the shoulder.

Can I pull the rags out of the pool with my sword?
