Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
"Yes," says the oldest man. "Luckily the fool couldn't get a fire started until just recently, otherwise he likely would have cooked us all by now. Truly, Gonto is with us to have sent you saviors in the nick of time."

Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
"Well, these things aren't exactly the brightest despite having two heads," Echo says. "Though, they make up for it by being strong. I don't suppose you saw where the other one went, did you?" she asks.
Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
All three men shake their heads. "We don't have the night vision of you elves," says the youngest. "Even now, we can only see because of Sir Redstone's torch."

Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
"Right," Echo says. She glances to Hollidan. "Did you want to check out that sword?" she asks.
Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
"You've changed your mind on that?" Hollidan asks. "You were the one who said it would still be there when we finish."

Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
"I can't do much with a sword," Echo admits. "And it will be there when we are done, true," she adds. "I just assumed you would want to have a look at it when you could."
Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
Hollidan rubs his chin. "Well, if the sword is magical, it might prove useful against the last creature," he says thoughtfully.
This thought is interrupted by Nuvain's cry in the distance, echoing throughout the cavern. He comes running out, his holy icon in hand, at full speed. "It's coming, it's coming!" he calls in warning. Sure enough, the last two-headed troll--perhaps the largest of them all, steps out behind him, looking furious. The giant stops mid-step when it sees its fallen and still smoldering companion, both its faces struck with shock.

Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
"Gimog, get back here!" Echo cries out to the other cleric as she pulls out her wand.
Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
Gimog steps back warily, and Nuvain runs to join the others. "Sorry, it must have heard all the fireballs, because it was alert and ready and saw me coming," the elf explains.
Hollidan draws his sword. "Keep back, with the pilgrims. Their safety is priority," the paladin says.
"Puny little men hurt my brudder. Me gonna smush you up into stew!" the troll roars, stepping forward and flexing its massive muscles.

Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
Echo takes a deep breath and holds out her wand. "Firaja," she says, aiming to make the same ring of fire around the troll as she did with the first troll that they fought since he is just standing there at the moment.
Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
The Wall of Fire Echo conjures from her wand takes the giant by surprise, springing up around it and burning it. Hollidan, Gimog and Nuvain all fire their weapons, with Hollidan missing entirely but the two sling stones hitting the troll squarely.
Nowhere near as afraid of fire as the weaker one, this troll bravely steps through the wall, burning itself further in the process. It then roars and beats its chest, all four eyes ablaze with rage as it ignores the pain.

"Firaga!" Echo cries out, pointing the wand at the troll again. She aims the fireball to end up behind the troll simply so she can keep the others safe from the blast.

Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
Once again, a small spark of light bursts from the wand, impacts the giant, and then explodes with a dull roar. When the light fades and the smoke dissipates , the troll is on the ground, smoldering but slowly starting to regenerate the wounds it took from the sling stones.
Moving quickly, Hollidan puts his torch to it, finishing it off once and for all.

Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
Echo lets out a deep breath, and leans against one of the cavern's walls. "And I guess that was the third one," she says. "Did you see where the pilgrims were, Nuvain?" she asks.
Re: CH 2: Two Heads are Better
The elf shakes his head. "The giant saw me almost immediately, so I never got a good look at that last cavern. I assume they're in there, though."
