"Well.... I suppose if the curse was evil, Paladine could detect it for me.." She muses, "Should we take it? The painting.."

Babushka shrugs. "I do not care for such things, but maybe others are ready to study it or pay money. As long as we have capacity on our pack animals, do as you like."
With the scrolls in her hands, she can't pick up any money and asks Thuskar to do take the platinum and steel coins.

While Babushka puts the scrolls into her backpack, Thuskar scoops up the handful of steel and platinum coins and slips them into his pack.

=======

Babushka adds 4 scrolls to her inventory.
Thuskar adds 19 STP and 20 PP to his inventory.

"Let us return to camp then, before those driven away from here come back" Babushka reminds the others. Then she turns to Lareth. "Are they clever enough to follow our tracks back to camp?" she asks the elf.

Leaving the painting with some reluctance Locky walks away slowly.

Jeremy turns to Locky and says "If the painting mean that much to you, I suppose that I could carry it for you, seeing as I am not taking any ting else from here. If you want it, that is."

Imani also picks up the rest of the gemstones, and the painting as well. "I got it," she says. "Let's get out of here."

"They track by smell, so the sooner we leave, the fainter a trail we'll leave behind," Lareth tells Babushka.

With that decided, the party heads back to the campsite where they find Jerrard still trying to make a meal out of cold rations, Malika being of no help, and Ulster watching over the Baaz prisoner.

A watch is set, and the following morning arrives without incident.

========

Imani adds 9 gemstones, a scimitar, and a large painting to her inventory.

(OOC: Casters can pick new spells.)

It is now Summer Run 16, Morning Watch (6:00 AM).

"So we should probably get moving," Imani says before she eats some rations. "We aren't getting very far during a day."

"Yes of course" Babushka answers, rising from her breakfast and packing up for the day, checking everything is securely fastened (I suggest we tie the painting to Haera's pack saddle).

After a brief and cold breakfast, the party moves on.

Not much happens in the hours they travel. When it's late afternoon, only then does Lareth call for a halt suddenly.

Kneeling down, he examines what appears to be a series of stones laid out in an obviously artificial pattern. He seems to recognize them, for he nods and stands, before turning to the others.

"There is a kirath camp not too far from here, to the north. There I can turn in the prisoner and tell my companions of the shrine we found. However, while it would only take a couple of days to get there myself, it would take nearly a week if you all come with me; and it's out of your way," the elf explains. "I suggest you just keep to the west. Your gnome and bear-man should be able to keep you from getting lost. Once I've met with my brethren, I'll make my way back to you; or failing that, send someone else to guide you. Understand?"

=========

It is now Tenth Watch (4:00 PM).

Babushka looks around to reassure herself that she would really be able to guide them west. Then she nods and says: "Yes, I think we can do that."

(A little backtrack if I can?)

Locky calls on Paladine to heal her friends.

Cure light on Babuskha 1d8=4
Cure moderate on Imani 1d10+1=7 hp healed.
Cure moderate on Jeremy 1d10+1=11 hp healed
Cure light on Jerrard 1d8=7 hp healed.

--------

"We can do that, I trust Babuskha to guide us." She smiles taking her friends hand.

"Of course, we head west? What if we encounter any more of the creatures you encountered? Are there any other things in the forest we should avoid." Jerrard asks, "And thank you for your help so far, we are indebited to you."
