CH. 8: Reunion

[HorizonsDream]

"The only proof is getting someone to admit to killing him," Jocelyn says. "and I don't see that happening."

[Breila]

"What was it again how he died? Is it certain that were not natural causes?" Ouragana asks.

[Jenara]

"Indeed, perhaps you should tell us more..." Arei motions to the Clerics Private Quarters. "In private."

[HorizonsDream]

"He didn't die of natural causes. He was older than me, but he was healthy. It could have been poison," Jocelyn says. "And there is no reason why I can't talk about this here when I trust everyone here at the moment."

[Jenara]

"Indeed." Arei nods. "So the ship, where does it make port, this was when you were younger? Perhaps the story from the beginning?"

[HorizonsDream]

"I told you the story from beginning to end," Jocelyn explains. "And I guess I was 18, so it wasn't that long ago since I've just turned 20. As for where it makes port, they are pirates. They could be anywhere, but I boarded the ship in Draska."

[Jenara]

"Then, that is where we start." Arei states flatly, "We'll head out once we have collected supplies and the like."

"Val..." She shakes her head, "The crazy half orc will probably catch him, and kill him, is there a military force on this island?" She asks Jocelyn. "We'll probably have to bail her out."

"Jocelyn, when you have calmed down, we have someone to discuss, do we not?"

[Breila]

Ouragana frowns a little. "Areilon, are you sure that you want to set out with so little information and no plan? Convincing someone to confess to murder when there's already a scapegoat doesn't seem feasible to me. Shouldn't we rather help Jocelyn to hide better?"

[Jenara]

"Hiding doesn't work, your past will get you sooner or later..." she lets out a little cough, muttering under her breath. "When have you known me to plan anything?" she laughs out loud, "These people will find her, and kill her, one day. We can stay and watch and possibly capture the next, hiding will do nothing."

"Did you say the name of the vessel Joyceln? Perhaps I might of heard of it?"

Val continues to pursue the man, not gaining ground, but not falling behind, either. He's now covered in sweat, and it doesn't seem like he'll last much longer, at least at this rate.

Meanwhile, Baeros, traveling through the woods, hears the two coming his general direction. Up ahead, he spots a man in a heavy cloak running from an angry looking orc woman.

Val reduces her speed back to x2. Val is now 1,800 yards from the courtyard. The assassin is now 1,920 yards from the courtyard. There are now 120 yards between Val and the assassin.

Round 9!
Val is now 2,040 yards from the courtyard. The assassin is now 2,160 yards from the courtyard. There are now 120 yards between Val and the assassin.

Baeros, feeling unsure as to what exactly is going on, but on the other hand, pretty sure that he has been spotted, things looks messy, and he should protect his employer, raises his long sword and shouts "Hold on right there! Both of you! I haven't yet spill blood this morning and I'm sure you wouldn't want to be the first today to feel my sword's hungry bite!"

Then Baeros hold his ground for he knows the next moment will decide will he have to do battle, or avoid the collision peacefully.

[Nuke]

Val continues to run the assassin to the ground, confident she'll get her man. Sneaking a look at the man yelling, she keeps running.

[BishGada]

Baeros senses it isn't going to be a peaceful discussion after all and plans a fallback strategy to trip down these persons if they will try to run past him. Better to stop them and figure things out, than let them run loose all around the woods... he tries to convince himself. Must be safer both for them and for us...

"Help!" the human yells out as he continues running toward Baeros. "This crazed orc is trying to kill me!"

[HorizonsDream]

"It is nice to know that my life is so safe in your hands," Jocelyn says, clearly sarcastic as she looks between Oura and Arei. "But she is right, Oura. I can't hide anymore, but I have duties here now too." It was obvious that she wasn't all that sure on what to do. "The ship is called the Poison Curse, and the captain's name was Ethan Beaumot."
