Act 1, Scene 1: "Together in Harmony" (Game Thread)

[Nocturno]

"I respect things fine! I mean doesn't protecting them show respect? Last night I found this! It looks like it might be this town. I'm not sure what this other place is though." he will pull out the map and put spread it out on the table. "Also this nice looking bracelet, but I'm not sure what this is." He will shake the vial. While doing this he try to show off the signet ring which will probably stand out on his small fingers.

[Jenara]

"Indeed, that is Harmonia." Mira responds tracing her finger along the road to the inn. "Would you mind if I looked at the bracelet?" Saying nothing on the 'protecting' items, she offers him an open hsnd

[TristenC]

You dreamed I... she shivers, rubbing her arms as the color drains from her face. ...I had a dream too... we were almost to the wall but... tears start to well up and she hugs him tightly around the neck. I... she begins almost too quietly for even him to hear, ...I ran, I couldn't help it... I left you but they caught us both anyway... can you forgive me? Realizing how close they are, she draws away a bit, wiping a single tear.

Sorry, she says to the group. Blushing furiously, she avoids looking at the server. Mira... could you order some tea for me? I don't know how to say anything they'll understand... Her color was already returning, along with her resolve.

[Jenara]

"Of course I can." Mira closes her palm and pats Elsa gently on the back, "I may just be a singer of songs, but I know this language, I can help where I can." Watching Elsa get close to Pyros she gives the pair a sly smile. She would have to talk to her about that.

"Show me the bracelet in a moment, I'll order tea, coffee, and some water." standing she moves to the bar, checking the dagger was still in place.

The server follows her to the bar, sensing the troubled mood at the table. Is everything alright?

[Jenara]

"Thank you, My friends had a traumatic experience, its left them shaky." She responds with as much cheer as she could manage, "Some tea, coffee and water might help."

[Namenlos]

"Well met wanderers, anyone have a blade sharp enough to slice the stubble from the face of a man destined for greatness?" Asks Yasir as he approaches the group,true to form as a man whom keeps a rather inflated perception of himself Yasir strikes a pose that he believes to be Heroic(perhaps hands on hips and one foot raised and placed on a chair).

"Never fear fair maiden! Ye all should be safe as long as I'm around and have a blade in hand...though is anyone familiar enough with this place to know where one could find a spot of care? I've recently wiped the floor of some rat men and they got a few lucky hits in, a curse on the gods of luck for that!

If Yasir hears the question regarding silver.

"Aye. Silver is a useful metal if you know when to use it. It is one of the few things that can stop a creature born of the bite of a were creature, at least that is my experience with the rat ones..."

(OOC: Yasir is familiar with Were creatures and I assume he can provide this commentary... however I may be overreaching >.> perhaps I should roll some sort of thing?)

Yasir will attempt to gain the attention of the cook/bar tender/waitress and mime a drink, food and then attempt to reference the stubble upon his chin. Even going so far as to ,non-threateningly, draw his sword and run the blade lightly against the grain.

Of course, the young man responds to Mira, Perhaps the festival will lift their spirits. He heads into the kitchen to fill their order.

Elsa rolls her eyes at his posturing, but the grandios proclamations seem to be helping her mood a bit as she even quirks a smile. Rat-men, you say... she responds with bemusement. I can use some healing magic on you, but not in the common room... I think these might be superstitious folk regarding such things...

Yasir mimes to the server with Mira, who nods in his directon once before heading into the kitchen.

Elsa listens with half an ear of his 'exploits', but when she sees the silver edge on the shortsword, she pauses. You really did use that, didn't you? Wait, rat-men? They were shape-shifters? I always thought that was a silly story... Turning back to Pyros, Do you think this is for real? Are there rat-men around here? She doesn't seem too bothered by the prospect of were-rats, more like she's considering it tactically.


[Ooc: no worries Namenlos. He has extensive experience with were-rats and did indeed hear the silver discussion.]

[Jenara]

"Thank you." Mira frowns at Yasirs actions, she was trying not to label him as one of rthose guys, perhaps it was a front?

"Fighting Weres?" Mira mumbles as she moves back to the table. "I suggest healing is carried out in private, they have none here."

"Were rats.. I wonder if there are were wolves?" Sitting down with her legs crossed she moves her hair off her shoulders and presses out her chest slightly.

[Nocturno]

"Don't you worry about your dreams Elsa, we both seemed to have some of our worst thoughts come through last night."

"Wererats bats or cats, they all sound interesting! I've never seen a shapeshifter before! I wonder if I can get some sling bullets gilded in silver? Now that would be a sight to see." this brightens his mood a lot. He will pull out the interesting looking sling stones he found earlier.

"This place is so interesting!"

Pyros' stomach will grumble easily heard across the table.

[Namenlos]

"I suppose I should wait and see what she brings back for me, then just lead the way. I prefer to be as close to tip top shape as I can, you can't carve your name into legend when your dead!" replies Yasir in regards to the healing.

"of course I've fought weres! You doubt me? Pah, too be so ill used at first sight(sigh). to think i'd live to see the day that I miss that dirtbag Afzel. remarks Yasir, who is indeed slightly perturbed to have been doubted... despite his *exagerations*. though he ends with a fond smile as he recalls Afzel and others from home leading him towards thoughts of finding a way to return. "Any thoughts of escaping this place from anyone? I'm starting to miss the smell of raw sewage in the streets, all this fresh open air is unnatural."

"maybe you could find a way to get some silver for those stones of yours, but we should probably start with food, ya?

[Jenara]

"It's probably fair to say we all had bad dreams, its something to do with this place, where ever here is." She comments with a tired laugh. "I'm starting to like it here, that reminds me I need to check the boards, see if I can play for the festival."

"I suppose escaping requires knowledge of where we are, then.. I won't say this will sound weird, but I think and was told that we need to fight some darkness or evil. I dont know if its some monster or..." She pauses, thinking of Elsa and Pyros torn to pieces, "Youve seen the wolves, this place is utterly scared at night, I've watched them close the gates. Perhaps we need to make life better."

"I know places to go for things, who to talk to, and how to talk to them. But perhaps not today, the wind is picking up."

[Nocturno]

"I would be up for a lazy day." Pyros says while rotating his shoulder.

"But everything is so new and interesting!" his face will clearly show him to be torn between exploring and taking it easy for a day.

Pyros pulls out a striped red sling stone, a pretty looking lead sling bullet, and a shiny steel sling bullet that is highly polished and decorated. The bracelet seems to be a simple work of woven leather, tied at one end and the knot held in place by a small green bead. He also produces a small vial that he shakes vigorously. In addition, a tin signet ring (much too large for his small finger) rattles around on his hand and depicts an intricately crafted foxhead.

Can I see that vial? Elsa asks Pyros. You probably shouldn’t shake it too hard if you don’t know what it is… some potions and things can explode… When the conversation turns to plans for the day, she chimes in again, I’d like to at least get a look around, today if the wind dies down. I may need some supplies, and if we need silver I’ll have to find something… Wait, who recommended it?

The server comes back out with a large tray holding a small tea kettle, a metal coffee pot, and a pitcher of water along with enough earthen mugs for everyone. Turning to Mira, the only one he knows can speak the language, Does the young man care for breakfast as well? He asks, indicating Pyros. We have orders in for you ladies and the taller gentleman here. It should only be a few minutes. Also, would you mind informing him that we have a shaving knife for use in the bathing area? He waits for any additional orders from her.

[Lang Check at inn: Yasir, Pyros, Elsa [1d100] = 16, [1d100] = 20, [1d100] = 74: all fail. Nobody understands the server except mira.

I’m pretty much taking for granted that Mira understands what is said in a normal situation since her check is so high. For times when someone is unwilling to repeat themselves or if you are listening in on conversations and such, she will still need to make a check. Once your lang check scores are over 25%, I’ll just let it go for normal interactions with people who want to talk to you; making the assumption that they will repeat themselves 3 or 4 times until understood. Your score should be over 20% before you try to respond in Harmonian, unless you are ‘taught’ a phrase by someone else (like Mira). In that case, you would make the check at half the score of the person who taught you the phrase… you can still badly mispronounce stuff ]

[Jenara]

"A very friendly group of gypsy's." Mira replies before turning her head to the server. "Yes Pyros would like food too, the same as us please. We have another upstairs, if he joins us on time I'll let you know." Giving him a smile she waits until he leaves.

"Shopping?" Her head snaps up. "I know most of the shops nearby.. There is only so much to do here. And frankly it's boring on your own." Someone to shop with, it seemed more fun than going on her own. "The whole silver thing.. Most silver weapons have points, I assume you can't use bladed weapons?"

"Pyros, if someone comes looking for those things.. I never saw them." She says with a wink.
