Act 1, Scene 1: "Together in Harmony" (Game Thread)

Finally shaking the Kender's hand, John smirks a bit. Once you figure that one out, bring it back and I will trade it to you for a more difficult one, he finishes with a wink.

Elsa translates Yasir's request into Elven for John. Good. Tell him it will be ready tomorrow afternoon, and he can pay then. It should only be about 3 gold to repair. I'll see what I can do about the sling bullets. As for gold bullets, he turns to the Kender, I've never heard of anyone needing those, but I can make most anything you like. Mira, you've been here for silver before... might I ask what you have it in mind for? It's not too common a request, but after I found Yasir there torn up in a cave a couple days ago with this silver short sword, it seems to be growing in popularity...

[Ooc: Pyros pays 4 sp for the blacksmith puzzle. Yasir gives John his silver short sword to repair. ]

[Jenara]

"Let's just say I was advised to take precautions. Not everything in the world is safe and I rather enjoy... Living." Giving a wide smirk she takes a step back. "Thanks for all your help, and for accepting everyone.. Harmonia could be a scary place."

If everyone is done she leads them along the road towards the numerous clothes shops.

[Nocturno]

"Deal! I will see you tomorrow!" Pyros will start to fumble with the puzzle.

John bids them good day as they leave. Mira leads them back down 'The Loop' to the clothing shops. The wind is still a bit stiff, but it has receeded a bit. Elsa heads to a modest clothier nearby, pausing at the door. Yasir casts a thirsty glance at the not-yet open tavern, and Pyros fiddles with the puzzle. A few more people are out, and it is probably a couple of hours before the festival starts.

[Ooc: Nocturno, any time you want to make a formal attempt you can make the roll. Otherwise I'll assume he's just playing with it idly.]

[Jenara]

"Clothes first." Mira comments taking Yasir by the shoulder, "Remember you need me to translate for you." She grins, moving towards the clothes shop Elsa stood by.. "See anything you like?"

Thanks, I'm just looking for un-died cotton or linen strips for bandages... she trails off a bit as she feels a bolt of white linen, though she is looking at some brightly colored cotton for dresses...

[Nocturno]

[OoC you said Wis check right? He will fiddle a bit with it while walking around]

Pyros will look at the clothing, but only something bright and gawdy will catch his attention.

"I'm sure we can find both, I have a few coins stashed away.." Mira trails off a little, "Let's shop, Yasir." She turns her head to the Kender. "Make sure Pyros is.. Happy."

Nothing in particular catches Pyros' eye... that is until he spots the dressing-dummy. It is basically a headless, cloth-covered torso shape on a stand about human height.

Marie, the seamstress whom Mira had purchased her own spare clothing from, smiles and approaches them. How may I help you, my lady bard.

[Ooc: yeah, wis check at -4 for the puzzle]

[Nocturno]

Pyros will explode past the others and stare in wonder at the dressing-dummy.

He will start to decorate the dummy in a flurry of grabbing and squeals.

[Jenara]

"Hi Marie." Mira says with a little wave, still slightly unsure as to the protocol here. "This is Elsa and Yasir, and our budding designer is Pyros." She says with a little giggle, "He is basically harmless."

[Namenlos]

"A pleasure to meet you Marie, I'm sure. Yasir Amin at your service. Basically harmless I suppose... though not completely, I'd say. Is the young Elfs behavior normal?" Interjects Yasir as he gazes about the shop. Earthen colored clothing that is well made will catch his attention.

(OOC: Not sure how "tasteful" Yasir is, is there a roll you could make to have him randomly pick something to judge? I mean he did wear a belt made of rat tails so I'm not saying it's great! Not sure if the point of him being a Kender has been driven home enough so I thought I'd add that >.>)

"I AM A KENDER, K - E - N - D - E - R" he will shout as he finish dressing the dummy.

He will turn about on his heel with a huff and check out his creation.

[OOC: Don’t forget, since the women are speaking Harmonian nobody can really understand except Mira (make lang checks if you want to attempt to understand). Well played with the Kender thing, both of you. Yasir is definitely unfamiliar enough for it to take a while.]

Pyros snatches things from all over the store and drapes them over the dummy, tumbling bolts of cloth, small displays, and balls of string and yarn in the process. The result is an almost eye-twisting combination of colors and patterns, the eclectic nature of which miraculously works somehow. It is obvious the seamstress is perturbed by his actions. Harmless you say… she mutters to the bard, taking in Pyros’ work.

Yasir introduces himself during the commotion, forgetting for the moment that he doesn’t speak the language; but his comment about the Kender is easily understood by Pyros. The warrior does find some sturdy durable cloth in the back, mostly browns and greys with a little green here and there. There are pants, coats, vests, cloaks and the like; as well as white work-shirts that look like they could take a beating.

Then the Kender starts shouting. Marie jumps in surprise and worry as the door in the back bangs open. A burly looking man (Marie’s husband) comes out with a serious look on his face. He is of average height, but well-muscled. His unkempt black hair is starting to grey at the temples, and he carries a heavy piece of firewood in one powerful hand. Something wrong, wife? he asks, gruffly.

Elsa looks concernedly at the newcomer and moves over to Pyros, That’s very good work with the dummy. Why don’t you show me your new puzzle… over here by the door where there is more light…

E…Everything is alright, husband. She calls back, a slight tremor in her voice. Please, don’t concern yourself… I’ll take care of it… He watches her for a moment, and casts a single glance at Pyros. With an ambiguous grunt he returns to the back, shutting the door hard. Marie’s breath escapes like air from a pipe organ being drained. Was there something you needed? She asked curtly, her nerves still showing a bit.

[Jenara]

"Sorry, we did not mean to.." Mira trails off watching Marie's husband leave. "I'm beginning to see that our presence in Harmonia is... Not.."

"Sorry, forgive my rambling." She says with a blush, "Do you have any plain white cloth that might be used for bandages? Plus the bright cotton.. I'm interested in getting something like that turned into a dress for Elsa here." Smiling she tries to push back the embarrassment. "How much might that cost?"

"I just asked about cotton for bandages." She translates for the group.
