Also, if Belzor is not there, the party can still claim to the church they cleared the lair.
It was nice to have new players on. The variety of characters greatly increase the role playing opportunities.
Pity mgbevan disappeared. I hope he is well.

Thanks. It is very time consuming work. Back when Kendra's group and the main party were both having battles at the same time? It would sometimes take me up to three hours to post the update.TristenC wrote:I appreciate your work (and feel your pain dm-wise). For what it's worth, I'm really enjoying this gameI've never done much with Dragonlance before, so it is nice to get to know it for the first time with someone so well-versed in it
Yeah, but on the other hand, both of my games are becoming a bit crowded. This spreads XP very thinly. It's less a problem in this game than in Lost Souls, since in this game the party rarely all work together at once (I think last time all of the PCs were together for a quest was the iron mine).BishGada wrote:It was nice to have new players on. I will. But it should still be all ready by tonight, I hope.chese780 wrote:Take your time Jaded.
Actually, in terms of coin alone, Haahqae is second only to Tulbas, and not by that much, either.Haahque wrote:Yep, even though I don't feel like Haahqae's getting very far right now (he's lost more loot then he's gained in the past 3 chapters and for at least 2 of those his XP wasn't stellar, and also he's still no closer to his ultimate goals then when he started out), I do enjoy playing Haahqae, I find the campaign setting interesting and I like some of the NPC's (such as Ismene, for example).

And yeah, I'm as familiar with Dragonlance as I am my own setting. The downside is, I'm fairly ignorant of just about every other setting.![]()

Can't tell if you are kidding or not.chese780 wrote:Jaded, I hope you don't go and force me into a situation with the army c:
Yeah, she really jumped forward there. Although it wasn't purely a solo quest. She still had to share XP with the Baaz and the Elves. But although her challenges were weaker than the ones faced by the other party, fewer people meant more XP to go around.Haahque wrote:Well all of the fighters did well this chapter (1.5K xp+, while everyone else was closer to 1k), but wow Kendra. Really raking in that solo XP there.
Well, anyone of any class and skill can punch or wrestle. But it is possible to take a specialty proficiency in unarmed combat. There are three kinds available. There's punching specialization, there's wrestling specialization and there's martial arts. The last one is usually reserved for monks, though. And non-fighters may only ever specialize in one of these styles.Haahque wrote:Is unarmed a valid weapon proficiency for non-monks?
I was half right then. And yeah, he did improve his relationship with her a little. Keep plugging away at that, he might woo her yet.Haahque wrote:Oh yeah, the vote for handing the books over was 50% to earn brownie points with her and 50% because the last thing he wanted to happen was to see the books destroyed, and it seemed like allying with someone against that stance was the best way to see this happen (And he'd rather the books go to the conclave then to Magnus). It still failed, but hey, there's the brownie points right?

Well, it's a random sort of choice since Arulia hasn't really trained on anything new or found any new weapons, but I'll go with the morning star for her weapon proficiency. I guess that there's not much choice anyway...by my count, she's already got 4 of the 9 bludgeoning weapon proficiencies as is. Morning star it is!JadedDM wrote:Djhyland, you can pick Arulia's new WP and I rolled a 4 = 5 for HP, which divided by half equals 2+1 = 3.
Yeah, the occupation is new enough that Arulia hadn't figured out the separation out yet. She's not the brightest, and in any case, she now wants nothing to do with either after her experience at the Temple. This is also where the confusion Arulia suffered stems from. When she went to the temple, she asked if she could join the temple guard, not the army. The temple guard is something else entirely (basically fighters who serve as templars and bodyguards for the priests).
I really liked following the antics of the draconians while reading Kendra's sections, especially once they started to admire her. I felt bad for them when Kendra betrayed them, although I can't fault her in doing so. At the risk of spoiling things, their ignorance on their origins reminded me of Finn and his fellow Stormtroopers in the new Star Wars movie. Or rather, Finn and company reminded me of the draconians, since I just saw the movie on Saturday. The Baaz that went with Kendra on her little excursion were all rolled up on the spot, including their colorful personalities: Krup, Tern, Grev, Slinn and Perp. It was fun roleplaying them. It also helped humanize the enemy a bit. I tried to play up how different they are from the mammalian races; how they don't have women or families or any kind of upbringing similar to our own. They don't even know where they come from. They are trained from hatching to be loyal soldiers and nothing else.
Take as much time as you need. If it isn't too late, though, your comment about winter coming reminds me that Arulia needs a new cloak. She'll want to look into buying one in the morning, assuming she has enough money to do so. Also, she'll want to find Pen again. If he's not hanging around at the High Hand again, she'll at least ask around if anyone has seen him.I'm exhausted and it's late, so I'll put up the new chapter tomorrow.
