Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Arulia looks up at the dwarf's approach with an expression of alarm, though it passes quickly. She doesn't offer him a chair, but replies politely. "It is nice to meet you, Shima. My name is Arulia."
Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Shima smiles at Arulia, responding,"Those are the nicest words I've heard since I entered this city. Have you been here long? And, if I can say so without causing offense, you are really pretty."
Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Haahqae, Tulbas and Gobax (Steel Tankard, common room)
Gobax takes a seat next to the blondes. The nearest one has short cropped hair and hazel eyes. She's wearing form fitting leather and a thick cloak. Gobax is fairly certain he's never seen her before, at least not that he can remember.
The next one over, who sits at the end of the bar, is wearing a heavy cloak with the cowl up, which conceals most of her features. It's hard for him to get a good look without being overly conspicuous or somehow getting in front of her. He sees some honey colored hair spilling out of the cowl. She seems fairly muscular or perhaps just bulky under the cloak.
The door swings open, letting in a burst of cold. It's Felran, the ginger half-elf who fought with them the night before.
Kendra Greylock (Old Fort)
"Actually, yes," says the priestess. "You are invited to a party being thrown by the prefect. You have something nice to wear? If not, I can have something provided." She hands Kendra a piece of paper, which turns out to be an invitation. The invite reads that the party is at the mayor's mansion and starts at Twelfth Watch.
"Everyone of importance will be there. Well, not everyone. The prefect seems to have neglected to invite the high priestess...or indeed, any representative from the church. Almost like he's trying to hide something from us. Well, that's your job. To find out. Commander Mouna was supposed to attend, but as she was called off to war, I've arranged for you to take her place."
Felran Del'ravdir (Steel Tankard Inn, common room)
Leaving his room, Felran heads out into the biting cold and makes his way toward the Steel Tankard. He passes through several checkpoints along the way, but as he's not carrying any weapons, they let him pass. Eventually he arrives at the dive that passes for an inn.
Sitting by the fire is a somewhat overweight man with a farmer's tan and short, fiery red hair. He rubs his hands by the fire, sometimes blowing into them to keep warm.
At a table by himself is a dark-skinned man engrossed in a thick book. At the table next to him is a handsome fellow with olive skin trying to fix a very broken lute. It looks fairly hopeless.
In the corner sits a young girl, perhaps around 13 years of age, by herself. She is dressed like a peasant and nurses a drink.
Up at the bar are two blonde woman, sitting side by side but not interacting with each other at all. One is wearing leathers and has short hair, while the other is covered in a heavy cloak, but some of her long hair spills out of the hood anyway. Gobax is also sitting next to them at the bar.
At a table in the darkest corner sit four Baaz, drinking and carousing. A single kapak leans against the wall near the door, keeping an eye on things.
One of the barmaids sits on the other end of the bar, apparently on break. The barkeeper is behind the counter.
Haahqae and Tulbas stand near the bar, talking to each other.

Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
"Let's pay a visit there today. If Belzor is still there we'll deal with him. Otherwise we should search all the rooms there. Afterwards we can report to the church. I might need their help with healing anyway." Tulbas says and after a second adds, "Don't you think it is amazing that the divine healing, and the old gods returned to the world?" he asks with wonder. "Pity it's an evil god, but still it is amazing."
Before Gobax walks to the women, Tulbas asks his permit back. When he notices Gobax direction he asks silently, "Do you think it's them? Maybe disguised?" but since he never saw the women he have no idea on the matter.

(OOC: I'm not a ginger, that's orange hair. I have RED hair. Which is also a ginger, but more ginger with the ginger. Add some more ginger and he'd be a Weasley. Wait, what did I just say?)
Felran moves to sit down next to Gobax.

Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Kendra looks over the invitation, then back up to the priestess. "I don't have anything to wear in a situation like this," she admits. "Poor girl and all. My wounds should probably be healed up too if I'm to catch the attention of the prefect?"
Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Haahqae, Tulbas, Gobax and Felran (Steel Tankard, common room)
Felran sits down next to Gobax and the bartender approaches them both. "What can I get you boys?" he asks, wiping his hands off on his apron.
Kendra Greylock (Old Fort)
"Easily fixed," the priestess responds. She places a hand on Kendra's shoulder and mutters a prayer to the Dragon Queen, Takhisis. A numb coldness passes through Kendra's body, completely healing her injuries and leaving no sign of scarring behind. "There's a tailor in the merchant district you can see that can provide what you need." She gives her instructions on how to get there. "I'm sure you can easily afford something nice," she adds, noting the fancy looking elven sword on her hip.
(OOC: Kendra is healed 8 HP and receives an invitation.)
Arulia, Ne-Chanz and Shima (High Hand Inn, Common room)
"Only if you pay for it," the innkeeper tells the minotaur. "Two silver coins."

Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Arulia frowns dubiously at the dwarf's flattery. "This town has always been my home; I was born here. I suppose you have come here at a bad time if I'm the nicest person you've met. It hasn't always been this way, but with the Dragonarmy and the war in general, people are having a tough time and are on edge, especially with strangers."
Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Shima replies, "My mistake: I'd assumed that as you're in the Inn, you're a traveler like myself. You are the nicest and by a wide margin. I can understand about people having it rough. But I did mean it - you really are very pretty." He pauses, then seems to come to a decision, "May I sit and talk with you?"

Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Arulia considers for a moment: while this Shima looks unsavory, there are enough people in the tavern to make him unlikely to try anything untoward. "Even if he does, I can handle myself even without a weapon, can't I? And he hasn't done anything wrong, aside from his flattery..." Finally, she shrugs and gestures towards another chair. "You may. What brings you to such an unfriendly place, then, Shima?"
Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
Shima settles himself in a seat, then replies, "You mean this Inn? I was headed towards another that makes this a palace. Or do you mean to this city, Arulia?"
Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
"Sure we can check out the lair again if you want, it would be good to investigate it before we tell the church to ransack it."

Re: CH. 9: Winter is Coming
I'll have a beer. he says to the bartender, and pays for his. Once the man walks off he speaks quietly to Felarn, Thought i'd warn the Gnome about that dwarf asking around for him but he's oblivious. Thinks the dwarf must be a fan or something. If we can get most of the group back together would you be interested in returning to that underground complex today? And do you think your furry friend would come too?
