Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Ouragana just looks at Naishe and after her, not wishing to comment on the obvious. "Thank you, captain, I appreciate that" she tells Sierre with a smile when she offers the guards.
There's more to me than meets the eye...
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Baeros follows the others up.
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Jocelyn, Baeros, and Gallath (The Berth Deck)
Jocelyn, Baeros and Gallath follow Naishe up to the next deck up. Naishe stops and whirls around to face them. "If it doesn't matter, why even ask? Of course I don't have demon blood! She's just a crazy woman, is all. And she's a danger to us all. She thinks we're all demons now. The smart thing would be to kill her before she kills us."
Ouragana and Drav (The Hold)
Sierra nods and heads upstairs, leaving Ouragana and Drav to watch over Penta. A few minutes later, half a dozen dwarven marines wearing leather and armed with cutlasses and pistols, descend into the hold and take position around the cell, just in case.
Val and Naras (Undine Village)
Naras's plan with the bottle does not work. The problem isn't that there is no air in her lungs, it's that there's no air around her lips for the words to travel clearly. Even if she could somehow expel all of the water in her lungs and suck in the air from the bottle or a waterskin, it would not solve this problem.
She gestures to the undine, trying to communicate with them. One of them seems to acquire sliver of understanding, and asks, "Are you saying you can't breathe? Do you need air?" he asks.

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Naras nods emphatically.
And gives the bottle back to Val with a shrug and a 'couldn't be helped' smile..

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
"So...she just randomly picked you to be a demon that she had to kill?" Jocelyn asks curiously.
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Val simply shrugs her shoulders.
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Ouragana greets the marines with a nod and tells them: "I will try to reason with her, but it might be futile. Your backup is much appreciated." she then puts her ear back to the door to hear Penta stirring.

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Jocelyn, Baeros, and Gallath (The Berth Deck)
Naishe shrugs casually. "Sure looks that way. Crazy people are unpredictable like that." Changing the subject, she then asks, "So what do you plan to do with her?"
Ouragana and Drav (The Hold)
Suddenly, there is a loud 'thud' against the door, as if someone had thrown their whole body at it. Shortly after, Ouragana hears shouting. "I demand to be released! This ship has been possessed by demons. Let me go now, and I will spare you my holy wrath!"
Val and Naras (Undine Village)
The two undine who carried Naras before grab her again by the shoulders and start swimming to another chamber of the cave. This one is higher up and has air in it. They break the surface and deposit her on a small bank. "There, is that better?" asks one.
Naras first hacks and coughs all of the water out of her lungs, a painful but brief experience. But now she can speak clearly again.
There's very little in this chamber. There's a wooden table and a couple of chairs, both slightly rotting. There's also some dry blankets stacked in a corner. It looks like this is where the undine bring land walkers who are guests (or possibly prisoners).

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
"Thank you, yes it is. I need to be able to say the words properly which I can't do in water, it seems. Can you bring those 3 wounded to me here, please?" replies Naras.
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
"The Captain will consider to let you go, but she doesn't like to be forced." Ouragana says in a firm but not loud voice. (She can's speak loudly anyway.) "You must reason with me, and I will bring your arguments to her."
After a pause - and independently of Penta's reaction - she continues. "My name is Ouragana, and I am a storm sorcerer mage. I know some magic, and a lot about weather, the sea, and ship navigation, but very little about the Other Planes. Maybe you can teach me? I am a very curious student."

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
"The woman have a point... This Penta did accuse Gallath to be a demon too. Well if he is he didn't show any signs of it in all the time we traveled together."
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Jocelyn, Baeros, and Gallath (The Berth Deck)
"Exactly," Naishe says in agreement with the ranger. "Neither Gallath or I are demons, she's just lost her mind, is all. Right, Gallath?" she asks, turning to the elf.
Ouragana and Drav (The Hold)
"This is no time for a theology lesson!" Penta argues from the other side of the door. "Listen to me then. You have been enthralled by the demon's magic. She is confounding the way you think. You cannot trust your own senses, you must trust mine. I am immune to her enchantments. If you release me and return to me my blade, I can free you and this ship from her influence before it is too late!"
Val and Naras (Undine Village)
The two undine submerge in the water, then return to the underwater chamber where Val still is. The half-orc watches as they grab the wounded female undine, then swim back up to where they came from.
They place the unconscious woman on the shoreline, then swim back a bit to give Naras room to work.
The woman is breathing softly, and would appear asleep were she not covered in wounds. She looks to be around twenty or so by human standards with long, dark black hair.

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
Naras nods to the pair and says in the Undine tongue, "Thank you. What is her name?"
After listening to any response, she adds in the same language, "In the name of Gonto and her support for Community I shall do what I can to heal this woman," and then casts Cure Moderate Wounds.
If the mermaid becomes conscious, the dwarf asks the pair to see the patient back to safety and then to bring the next patient.
Otherwise, Naras checks the condition of the wounded female. {OOC: Healing (15)}

Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
"We both saw angel wings on her back, Baeros," Jocelyn points out. "She is a fanatic, but she might be able to sense things that normal people can't."
Re: CH. 16: Homecoming
"How can the demon have worked magic on me? I have not been with her before I came down to keep you two from killing each other" Ouragana asks Penta. "Working a spell takes time, and it is not easy to control many people at once."
