Re: ** Part I: Fire and Ash **
Delilah's thoughts will be apparent on her face.
While the others are speaking, Delilah will take a few moments to focus her attention away from the fire, and try to see what the unknowns are doing above them.
She will whisper to Karlene: "I'll be damned if I were to lay with any of these.... people."
If she can see if anything is amiss with the folks behind them, she will attempt to signal her group mates.
How are the pups reacting to the newcomers?

Re: ** Part I: Fire and Ash **
Pups reacting: they aren't. They lost their mother and haven't eaten in several days. So they aren't very concerned about first impressions.
The four up above were scouring through some shrubs and talking amongst themselves, it seems they were engaged in heavy discourse regarding food, and argued at length regarding cooking techniques, strategies, and various methods of it.
You overheard one of the four say 'kidnapping Benito was the best thing we did all year, I haven't eaten this good in ages. Fancy that, the master chef of the Boarshead Inn now our own personal master chef.'
Without much protest or resistance the party begrudgingly breaks camp and allows itself to be escorted along by these bog men, who look grimy and unappealing. You weren't ill at ease with them, most of them were unarmored and sported only a few crude weapons, more like tools than actual weaponry. Narn and Sylver guided you up a very long stretch of staircase that encircled a ginormous awesome sized tree like a snake coil, and above their village was a three level of circular rings containing thatch roofed huts and some larger structures could be seen here and there. Seen above were several frog-like humanoids, only two who were walking cat-walk bridges somewhere above. Vines stretched down and were plentiful, as some bogmen seemed leap off of catwalks on high and snatch a vine to swing to a lower bridge as though it were a simple feat (for them perhaps).
Narn and Sylver escorted you to a large, ordinary hut and strode inside, introduced you to the dying elder. A gray haired old man who bore an air of kindness and civility and also strange calm, as though all was aright with the universe and nothing could darken his inner tranquility. 'So, you brought guests, Narn. Though I sense some among them bear ill feelings toward our ilk though we''ve not earned such rancour. A team of emboldened adventurers, assembled recently in the belly of the Boar comes into my humble abode seeking answers to mysteries, and missing folk I sense.'

{OOC: Are the conversations we've had with these guys consistent with thm being cannibals?
e.g. "..we invite you for dinner..." could easily be that you're the food rather then one who is dining. If this is the case, how long was th travel time to the village from where we'd made camp? Reason for asking is wheather or not Karlene would have tried to steadily cast a 'Charm Person'.}

[OOC: my thoughts exactly on the cannibal front]
Idrys remains silent throughout the exchanges, keeping close to his sister during the travel and watching the strangers with an appraising look.

@Chris1234: no, there hasn't been anything to suggest that they are indeed cannibals.
It's a 25 minute hike from the waterfall camp to the bog mens treetop village.
Along the way, you discreetly casted a charm person at Narn, and the spell envelopes him under its sway. He has that glazed look in his expression that he's a real friend, not some stranger you just happened to meet in middle of a swamp. Later on in the village he tells Sylver to walk ahead and comes toward you 'so, what're you all up to? And how pray tell can I help with whatever it is you're actually doing here? It's not like you city dwellers come our way often, and certainly not for some swamp grog"

Delilah will stride to the front, with arrogance and pride.
"My name is Delilah of house Stillwater, I appreciate your hospitality, as any bed is better than sleeping on the ground. May I be shown to my room?"
Keeping her primary mission in the forefront of her mind, she needs to keep appearances, especially if she wants her party to treat her as she deserved.

Re: ** Part I: Fire and Ash **
En route to the village Karlene chats quietly with her new-found friend, lapsing into silence and polite smiles if any of the other bog-dwellers come with probable earshot,"Hi Narn. Just wanted to check that we're not inconveniencing you and your people by us coming here? Or bringing any danger to you and your people. And also that we're safe too - is there anyone or anything here that could intend us harm?”
If all this goes smoothly and nothing untoward shows up or is revealed, she continues in the vein of, "...In return for your hospitality, is there an appropriate service or assistance that we could provide for you and your people?..." and "...Well actually I was hoping to find someone... ", (and she provides an appropriate description to the best of her ability). This is all mingles in with general chatting, "... so what do you guys usually eat?... Tell me about the archery contest? Who fires at what exactly and how is it scored?... what sort of wildlife is there around here?..."

Re: ** Part I: Fire and Ash **
Narn laughed, 'Inconveniencing? Peculiar word. We're simple folk round here, no need for such...lofty language, Elf. And to be perfectly blunt, no, we rather enjoy outsiders to disrupt the skulldrudgery of ordinary everyday existence. As far as danger goes, you stand in perfect danger of having a good time and potentially a pampering, if you find such distraction to your elven tastes. However, there is always some danger in the bogs. Let us say do not go out there alone, many have been known to vanish without a trace, and I mean hardened adventurer's who thought themselves able to cheat certain death. Come hither, your rooms await. Forgive me but you will all have to share lodging, we have many visitors this week. However you ought to find your lodgings sufficiently cozy' he leads the party up a winding spiral stairs, then down a long rope catwalk which came to a thatch roofed hut that looked quite large, large as a small cottage.
Narn guided you inside of a charming, comfortable and spacious interior with many cots, hammocks, and even a king sized bed in a top loft. He turned his eyes back to Delilah saying 'Getting to your many queries, the archery contest is several objects swinging like a pendullum to and fro, the one who shatters the jars they hold wins the first round. Other contests are given in a 10 round contest. Some for distance, others for accuracy, and some for strength in bowmanship. It's all rather dull for me, but I am no warrior." He stood and thought hard for a moment then said 'Aye, now that you brought it up there is something your group could do, if it is not too much of a trouble. As I told you our elder is dying, he has a week to live. However he hath too much knowledge that is important for future generations to recieve, and with his current health deteriorating there is not much time for him to convey all he knows in such a short while. The druid I am friends with advised that I gain the royal jelly from the Giant Bee caves just a good hike away from the village. However, I'm quite scared. That blasted druid always likes giving me dififcult challenges he knows that I hate. That jelly would prolong the elder's life for a few more weeks, as the druid will help me make an elixir of life out of the royal jelly. I'm no adventurer, I can't simply walk into the queens chamber and steal it! If you could help me that would be something. I heard Elves use these giant bee's as their mounts? Is that true?" he pours something out of a pitcher and hands each of you a beautifully carved wooden cup full of a sweet nectar, and drinks it himself 'This is called Calamansi juice, it's a simple refreshing palate cleanser, the fruit of which looks like a lime but sweet like an orange, though not as sweet. Please have some"
He turned back to Delilah, 'Ah, I think I know who you're talking about. The love priest, what was his name? Ash? Last I heard he talked to our master chef, and the two became fast friends then Ash disappeared north of here. He was looking for Benito's special ingredients for a special soup called Elven love potion. Yet he vanished, and I feared he may have meandered into the Direwoods. Despite its name it's a safe wood, so I do not know how anyone coud have been harmed or lost in such a place. He certainly seemed capable of taking care of himself. Benito claimed he was looking for a vial of dryad's blood, one ingredient in his soup. I have a funny feeling he might have tried going to the magic pool, it's where the druid goes to bathe and meditate. It will also make you five years younger by swimming in it, so the rumor holds'
John clambered up the steps that lead to the upper level of the hut, saying 'I claim the bed, I have a bad back and require additional support'

Idrys keeps a wary eye on everyone save his small group. Once a few answers are forthcoming, he speaks up. Would your chef have any additional information on him? Something that might be important to know later?

Narn: 'Ah, that's a fine question indeed. As I initially said they seemed to have formed a very quick bond, so I imagine yes. But Benito is a bit of a conceited snob for a chef, if you wish to extract any sort of information out of that one you'd best stroke his ego as much as you can tolerate. Once sufficiently buttered up I believe he'll give you his secret recipes, though I doubt it."
John said 'Elsmyrian, give me your spear you mentioned and let me have a look at it. I'm bored' he took the rangers spear and began examining it thoroughly, remarking 'You've seen a great deal of battle I can tell, this spear head is far too damaged to be of any use. You'll need to have it replaced entirely I'm afraid'
The Dwarf said 'if any of you others have any weapons or items that bear inspection bring them up here. You there, Idrys was it? Let me see that suit of leather armor that you wear. With your permission I can do something interesting with it"
Narn made a wordless gesture for one of his folk to go bring something, and a few minutes later the young lad brought two bowls full of milk for the black and white furred dire wolf cubs. The bog man petted them and whistled appreciatively 'Not everyday you find such in the bogs, they must have come from the Direwood. These blasted poachers keep coming looking for their furs. My friend Trunks has killed a great deal of them to dissuade them from their stupidity, apparently even the threat of death is not sufficient to curb the blinding greed of easy coin it would seem!'

Re: ** Part I: Fire and Ash **
Idrys gives him a wry grin with no emotion. I'm not sure I know you well enough to take my clothes off for you yet. Curious however, he continues. What sort of modification did you have in mind?
Re: ** Part I: Fire and Ash **
John said 'And I'm not certain I wish to see you naked so soon into our adventure, either. Beside, you're not me type' he said chuckling, 'You'll see in a moment' after examining Idrys's leather armor the Dwarf made a brief drawing showing several dagger sheathes ingeniously woven into the rib cage section of the leather, then: a tiny grappling hook and a length of chord woven into the leather bracers of your armor. John points it out to you: 'I scrapped some of the materials we found on those gray clad baddies, taking their grappling bolts I can integrate them into your armor's wrist bracers for a makeshift climbing tool. You would have to make a whip-snapping gesture to extend the line. These chords are quite strong, enough to carry 350 lbs. You could strangle a Hillgiant with this' he added 'such modification would be useful, disarming your enemies or tripping them up, and then there's climbing or dismounting enemy riders'
Re: ** Part I: Fire and Ash **
Delilah will roll her eyes at the Dwarf.
"Such exuberance, keep it down a bit please I need to meditate."

Idrys quirks a small smile at Delilah's side comment, but looks at the new modifications with some interest. Intriguing... how long would these modifications take, and at what price? he asked.
Re: ** Part I: Fire and Ash **
John chuckled, 'bah! meditate! This is not a temple or shrine last I checked!' he looked to Idrys 'two hours, mmmm, five gold coins ought to be sufficient. Me dadda always said if you don't charge em for it, they'll never truly appreciate the craftsmanship, eh?"
