"What does it look like I'm doing?!" Kendra calls back to Tulbas. Though, she looks pleased now knowing that one of her swords can hurt the creature. "Advantage? There is no advantage here. I'm the only one that can hurt it!" she yells at Gobax. Now that the elemental has its attention on her, she knows she has to be a little more defensive as she continues her attack.

Arulia looks back and forth between Bear and her furnace. She's curious about the commotion, but she knows that if she leaves the smithy now, she runs the risk of ruining Bear's metal...or worse, burning down the forge. "Maybe you'd better go and look," she suggests, "but I need to stay here so I don't burn down the forge."

Well that appears to not be working at all. Haahqae might have missed but the baaz are making it quite clear how useless attacking it with weapons are being. That’s when Haahqae decided that he’s an idiot for not thinking of this sooner. Haahqae puts away his sling.

Hustling over to the nearest Baaz, Haahqae does his best to explain; “Wow we’re all stupid. That thing is a fire. Why are we trying to hit a fire with swords? The way to put out a fire is with water! Let’s go find some water to douse this fire with.” And then he’ll look around the market for anything that looks like water, a pool, rain buckets or anything like that.

Tulbas considers his options. He can no longer assist the humans around, he didn't learn any offensive spells today, hoping to help Haaque in his show, he is not skilled with weapons... But going to the shop and back will take so long the fight will be over and Kendra, Gobax and Haaque will probably die. And besides if Magnus won't find his own benefit in helping them, he won't help. No, this is a bad option. Tulbas considers again his spells. If he will cast 'Grease' it will burst into flame immediately, and even that it might take some baaz with it, it will not hinder the elemental and might even harm Kendra. 'Sleep' will also have no effect on it..
Suddenly the roar of pain the elemental cries and his turn toward Kendra snaps Tulbas out of his thoughts. "Damn! She just made it angry. I will stay close and try to help her somehow." He then takes few feet closer and casts light aiming for the creature eyes or face.
'Shiny little orb of light,
Stick to the creature, hinder its sight,
No matter his true might,
He would find it hard to fight.'

He whispers in the old elven dialect and direct the orb towards the creature.

Haahqae, Kendra, Tulbas and Gobax (Grand Market)
Gobax tosses his last flask of lamp oil to land near the elemental. It shatters on impact with the ground, and the oil puddle that forms is quickly ignited by the elemental's presence. This does not appear to heal it any, but it does burn the baaz standing behind the elemental.

Haahqae moves to one of his security guards and mentions fighting fire with water. "Damn, if only the river wasn't on the other end of town!" the soldier comments. Haahqae looks around. There is a well in the center of the grand market. It would take time to draw up the water, but it's the most obvious source visible.

Tulbas does notice the elemental seems to have eyes. Or what appears to be eyes, anyway. It has two large glowing patches of brilliant blue fire that seem to function as eyes, so he takes a chance. He casts a spell of light, focused on the blue patches. This seems to work, and the creature hisses and cackles. It swings its fist at Kendra but misses her, as if it can no longer see her well.

The baaz and Kendra continue to fight it. The baaz weapons have no effect, but they don't stop trying. Kendra finds that once again, her masterwork sword does not seem to do any harm. She strikes with it twice, to no avail. When she hits it with her elven blade, though, it cries out in pain again.

Initiative
Haahqae (1d10): 7
Kendra (1d10+5): 10+5 = 15
Tulbas (1d10+1): 8+1 = 9
Gobax (1d10+3): 1+3 = 4
Baaz (1d10+5): 10+5 = 15
Elemental (1d10+6): 5+6 = 11

Round 2!

Gobax moves 25 feet eastward and throws his last flask of lamp oil near the elemental. It quickly ignites the oil, dealing (1d6): 5 damage to Baaz 49. Baaz 49 is now seriously wounded.
Haahqae speaks with the baaz and looks around.
Tulbas casts Light at the elemental's eyes. The elemental resists with a save vs. spell [TN 13] (1d20): 9, fail. The elemental is blinded for 30 rounds. It suffers a -4 to hit and AC.
Elemental swings its fist at Kendra while blinded (-4 hit) [TN 9] (1d20-4): 12-4 = 8, miss.
Baaz attack the elemental. Their weapons have no effect.
Kendra slashes at the blinded (+4 hit) elemental with her masterwork (+1 hit/dmg) long sword with great skill (+1 hit/+2 dmg) [TN 15] (1d20+6): 7+6 = 15, hit for no damage. She then slashes at the blinded (+4 hit) elemental with her elven (+2 hit/dmg) long sword with great skill (+1 hit/+2 dmg) [TN 15] (1d20+7): 7+7 = 14, hit for (1d12+5): 1+5 = 6 damage. Elemental is now seriously wounded.
Kendra slashes at the blinded (+4 hit) elemental with her masterwork (+1 hit/dmg) long sword with great skill (+1 hit/+2 dmg) [TN 15] (1d20+6): 9+6 = 15, hit for no damage.

Grubnick mutters to himself quietly, relying on the bedlam to keep attention away from him. Maybe there was one more thing he could do to hurt the baaz...

Kendra seems surprised that she was able to dodge the elemental's attack as it seemed kind of sloppy. She ditches her masterwork sword, and concentrates on just using her magical weapon. "Thanks Tulbas!" she calls out over her sword before she attacks the creature again.

"Gobax! Be careful with your weapons! Kendra is near the damn creature." he shouts to the goblin assuming he could detect the source of the flammable oil. Then he advises Kendra, "Try to sneak on him while I'll try to distract him!" Although it is pretty obvious the sling will not harm the creature Tulbas shoots at it and calls it, "Hey! Big fellow! Over here!" trying to distract it and let Kendra sneak behind it. He also makes sure to keep enough distance and looks at the field to see if there is other danger we need to be aware of. 'Strategically such fierce attack could draw all attention and allow more attacks from other directions.' he thinks to himself.

(OOC: Unless someone comes into the shop, Arulia continues to work at the smelter. If she somehow manages to finish the smelting and put the fires out enough that they don't pose a danger to the smithy before things calm down again, only then will she go out and investigate.)

Haahqae, Kendra, Tulbas and Gobax (Grand Market)
Haahqae points out the well and sends two of the baaz running to draw up the water within to help with the battle. They quickly do so, while the other baaz continue stabbing and slashing impotently at the raging elemental.

Tulbas tries to distract it, but to no avail. He has no skill with the sling and would be lucky to hit the broad side of a barn with it. Even if he did make contact, the elemental does not see him as a threat. It is focused entirely on the mortal who is capable of actually hurting him. So it ignores the young elf, despite all of his yelling and the slung stone, which doesn't even come close to striking the incorporeal creature.

Kendra drops her masterwork blade, focusing on using her elven one only. Strangely, the sword starts to heat up considerably as if she had stuck it in a forge and held it there for a minute. Right now it's just uncomfortable, but she can maintain her grip on it. But if it continues to get hotter, it may start to burn her hand. This distracts her from hitting the creature accurately.

Initiative
Haahqae (1d10): 7
Kendra (1d10+5): 8+5 = 13
Tulbas (1d10+6): 6+6 = 12
Gobax (1d10+5): 4+5 = 9
Baaz (1d10+5): 3+5 = 8
Elemental (1d10+6): 10+6 = 16

Round 3!

Haahqae orders some baaz to head for the well.
Baaz continue attacking, but do no damage. Baaz 01 and 02 move 120 feet toward the well, leaving the map.
Gobax mutters quietly.
Tulbas slings a stone at the blinded (+4 hit) elemental with no skill (-5 hit) [TN 18] (1d20-1): 4-1 = 3, miss.
Kendra attempts to save vs. magic [TN 16] (1d20+2): 13+2 = 15, fail. Her elven blade begins to grow uncomfortably warm. Dropping her masterwork sword, she slashes at the blinded (+4 hit) elemental with her elven (+2 hit/dmg) long sword with great skill (+1 hit/+2 dmg) [TN 15] (1d20+7): 4+7 = 11, miss.
Elemental swings its fist at Kendra while blinded (-4 hit) [TN 9] (1d20-4): 7-4 = 3, miss.

Arulia Seroth (Thoron's Blacksmithy)
After a bit, the man returns to the shop. "The soldiers have the whole square blocked off and won't let anyone else in," he says. "But from what I could piece together, it sounds like some kind of attack. I heard someone mention a monster breathing fire or made of fire...something to do with fire. Bah, without my axe, I suppose I couldn't do much anyway."

Grubnick sees the baaz head off for water. Still muttering quietly he prepares to prevent their return.

Kendra winces lightly as her sword is suddenly becoming hot. ~Is it because of this fire thing?~ she asks herself. Thankfully, she is able to still hold it at this point, so she sucks it up and continues her attack.

Things went from being an orderly show that was actually going well (for once) to chaos and combat in a surprisingly short amount of time. Who the heck had targeted him with this attack? They seemed to be bad at actually managing to kill Haahqae, but they sure were good at messing up his day. What worse could happen during a show then it being attacked by some sort of creature he can’t even fight back against?

Regardless of his thoughts, Haahqae races off after the Baaz he sent to the well to help them draw water and douse the fire. On his way he starts thinking of other options for how his particular talents might be useful in this situation, after all he isn’t the biggest or strongest person around, especially when he’s surrounded with soldiers. Has he heard any warning bells or war horns that might be able to draw attention to the goings on here quickly? Perhaps he could emulate such a noise with magic and call help from afar quickly?
