Grubnick accepts her response, the excitement of the moment draining somewhat. Of course... he thought wryly, If Sirrion appeared and I knew him i'd have so many questions it would be next to impossible to hear what he had ro say... that or i'd be dumbstruck and unable to respond... small wonder then. Right, the meeting... We can still get to them right? The promise of the dwarf should be enough. I can... uh.. I can kind of 'hold' them in place... they didn't seem to be too experienced when we were all in the Belzorite lair... I think I can catch them both... I could wave a fake wand or something like a mage so they don't make the connection to divine magic... we could tie them up and get them to tell us where the money is... maybe.. his enthusiasm drops off towards the end as if he weren't very sure of the plan.

"You assume that they will be there alone," Arulia replies. "If it turns out to just be the two of them and the two of us, I'd say that we might stand a good chance even without the help of the gods, but I doubt that it will just be the two of them. I'm told that they work with another woman, at the least. The warehouse we are to meet at is of their own choosing, too, so they have an advantage there as well." She shakes her head. "No, we will need more than just the two of us, I think."

The goblin nods. You're right, of course... The Minotaur, Ne-Chanz, has been hanging around Shima a lot lately so he's out as they're probably together... Felarn... he, umm... he didn't make it back from wherever those two went with him... Gregeddin is locked up... unless you know where to find that Kender, our only other option I know of is Haahque...

Kendra Synclair (Market Street)
Kendra arrives at the western gate of the city, on Market Street, where the parade is to begin. It will cross the entire city, from west to east, making a stop in the middle at the square. Already, the parade has been set up and is waiting. There are scores of soldiers--baaz, bozaks, goblins and worgs all lined up. They are all wearing their best armor and carrying their most decorative weapons. In the middle is a large float with two ogres in front to pull it along ropes tied to it. The float is decorated to resemble a large red dragon. The dragon looks to be made of papier-mâché. Underneath the dragon's belly sits a throne that looks to be wood (with cushions) but painted up to seem as black as night.

Everyone is busy getting into place. A band of minstrels warm up their instruments nearby, and Tethys' elderly butler is directing them into place. When he spots Kendra, he waves her over. "For a moment, I worried you might be late to your own parade. I trust you are ready?" He hands a tabard that is black and has a five headed dragon emblem on the front, with each head a different color. "Put this on. It makes you look more like a soldier, since you don't have your official armor yet."

Tulbas Erogund (Tower of Wayreth, Unknown Floor on AT 15)
"What a question!" Jinali responds, surprised. "What other choice is there, really? We're just apprentices. We can't fight against actual magi. Our best bet for safety is to side with the rebellion--they're winning anyway. Besides, this way, we don't have to be tested. My master is with the rebellion, and so is yours. I'm surprised you don't seem to know that. Did he not inform you of what was going to happen? Anyway, help me gather up the good stuff and I can put in a good word for you."

(OOC: You've asked this before, but no, Tulbas doesn't know which apprentice was with which master. He never asked, and never spoke to the masters at all.)

Ne-Chanz and Shima (Central Haven Sewers)
Ne-Chanz gingerly crosses the bridge. It creaks considerably and there is even a bit of a snapping noise at one point, but it does hold and he makes it to the other side. From there, the two continue west until they reach a dead-end. There are two doors--one north and one south. Both have padlocks on them.

Shima nods obligingly, moves to the north door and listens at it, then checks for traps (and attempts to remove any found) before trying to pick the padlock.

If the dwarf fails to unlock the northern door he shrugs and turns to point at the southern door and then repeats the corresponding process on that.

"You are jumping to conclusions, but never mind that now. I assumed the black robes are running this rebellion. Didn't know others has joined. Who is your master?" Tulbas asks. After her answer, he locates a distant cabinet, asks Selowen to help him and goes there starts looking for useful items while whispering, "I would prefer to see if I can make a difference in this situation." 'It might be my best chance to kill Magnus if he is occupied fighting hell' he adds to himself. "What do you think of it? Still wanna run away?"

Arulia sighs, perhaps a bit melodramatically. "I...suppose that it might be good to bring Haahqae. If he's willing to help, that is." She sounds quite doubtful of the matter. "Pen's a good idea, though. I don't know where to find him, though...maybe we can ask around to see if anyone has seen him around?"

Well this makes things a lot more difficult. Since when did the army have time to monitor every associate of a false accusation? Certainly there are far too many soldiers in this city with far too much time on their hands.

“That must be really scary. Why would they refuse having Ismene? Was it a rogue group masquerading as soldiers who took her? Why would they be watching you? Nothing adds up.”

Well if she’s being watched, then a public spot line the common room in an inn would be a bad place to talk, if Haahqae’s goal is to form a relationship of friendship and trust with and between these two. A relationship which could give him enough resources to maybe think up a plan to free Ismene.

“So, what were your plans today? Perhaps we can walk as we catch up. Us honest folk should probably stick together in tough times like these.”

Haahqae (Masked Dragon Inn, Common room)
"I'm afraid I have no answers. I would guess they are watching me because I was rooming with Ismene. Perhaps they suspect me of having played a part in whatever crime they think she has committed," Miriam says.

She snorts at Haahqae referring to himself as 'honest.' "My only plans today were to search the city for any work. I had hoped to survive off my share of the treasure from the ogre cave until winter was over, but that's not possible now. I'll need to find something steady to keep myself fed. But there is precious little work to be found so far."

Tulbas Erogund (Tower of Wayreth, Unknown Floor on AT 15)
"My master?" Jinali asks, puzzled by the question. "My master is Frilothan." Tulbas has never heard that name before; it has no meaning to him.

"I'm not strong enough to fight against the rebellion," Selowen says. "But I'm certainly not going to side with them, either. I'm starting to think Cefka had the right idea, hiding in the closet." She frowns.

"You're either with the rebellion or against them," Jinali points out to them both. "There's no straddling the fence here."

Ne-Chanz and Shima (Central Haven Sewers)
Shima puts his ear against the north door. He can hear voices on the other side. But they are very, very soft...likely a good distance from the door itself, because he can't make out any words at all. They sound further in. He checks around for traps, but finds nothing. So he starts work on the lock, and eventually hears the audible click of it opening.

Shima detects noise through the north door [TN 45%] (1d100): 32, pass. He hears voices on the other side.
Shima searches the north door for traps [TN 20%] (1d100): 28, fail. He finds no traps.
Shima tries picking the lock on the north door [TN 50%] (1d100): 11, pass.

Silently as he can, Shima removes the padlocks and places it carefully to one side out of the sweep of the door.
He beckons Ne-Chanz closer and whispers in his ear, "Voices. Can't make them out. Ready?" as he readies his shield. As an afterthought, the dwarf adds, also in to Ne-Chanz's ear, "Your torch is still good for a while, right?"

Kendra takes the tabard, and looks it over carefully. She isn't exactly thrilled about wearing something like that, but she figures she doesn't have much of a choice in the matter either. "I guess I'm ready?" she says. She doesn't exactly sound sure of herself as she puts the tabard on. "Where do I need to be?"

Arulia thinks for a moment. "The last time I saw Pen, i think, was at the High Hand. Just before we went to rescue the elf boy from the Belzorites."

Oh.. the goblin said, crestfallen. Well... he isn't there now... If you don't know where else we can even look for him, then I suppose we should look for Haahque...
