Re: Act 1, Scene 2: “The Edge and Back” (Group B: Main Game
Hew, Tag and Eariel agree to take the even shifts, Eariel taking both 2 and 8.
The night passes calmly enough without event, aside from the howls of hunting wolf packs somewhere to the east. Eariel and the humans keep a good fire going throughout the night. As the early morning begins to break, Eariel rouses Hew and Tag to get things underway, catching an extra 20 minutes of sleep herself while they do so. Once they have everything together, they wake her and the three begin getting the townsfolk ready to move.
[Marching order for today?]
===
Garroth recovers 1 hp: [7/18]
Hew, Tag and Eariel recover 1 hp.
Does anyone wish to change spells?
Since the game-day was short and not very eventful i'll hold xp until the end of the next day

Re: Act 1, Scene 2: “The Edge and Back” (Group B: Main Game
Linar offers, "Anyone hurt that doesn't have Mana water can have mine."
And then as his back was aching from carrying more than his slight frame can manage asks, "Hey Garroth, can I ask a favour? Would you mind carrying this sack for me today, please? It'll slow me down otherwise. That's assuming it won't slow you down, of course."
If Garroth agrees, he passes over the small sack (214sps, wt 4.38lbs) with a "Thank you. I'll stand you a beer when we reach town."
======
Same spells. Same marching order.

"Thanks, Garroth!", says Linar with a nod. "Beer on me."
Hearing Van's exclamation, he says, "What? You're going to use Phantasmal Force to get a discount? Threaten the chef by breaking all his plates?" with misjudged fumour.

"No, no... Maybe put on a illusionist show... throw a couple cantrips out.. a illusory display to get the kiddies excited. Bards have songs, we have magic!"
Van will flip a coin out and do some casual "magic coin" tricks.
"Easy and city folk love it- especially if they think they know how it's done."

Re: Act 1, Scene 2: “The Edge and Back” (Group B: Main Game
Eariel speaks to her men, who nod and pass around their collected water to the civilians. The soldiers each take a drink from their own stores of Mana water, their wounds washing partly away. Man... that's some useful stuff. Tag remarks, Pity it doesn't keep too long. Eariel drinks from hers and one of her small wounds closes up, though she still has another large bruise.
Linar passes his skin of mana-water to the Minotaur, as well as a bag that the ranger easily shoulders. The casters prepare their spells for the day and before long the party sets off in the same formation as before. A couple of hours along the trail, Eariel speaks to the party members at a brief rest. The farthest north I think the Orcs were seen was maybe 10 miles from Bordertown. That should be just about half-way from here.

Ausie, you can roll a 1d4 for hps regained from the mana water Linar gave Garroth.

Linar goes wide, right flank, arrow ready to pull.
She takes care to keep any breeze in his face where possible and moves with accustomed quietness.

Re: Act 1, Scene 2: “The Edge and Back” (Group B: Main Game
The party continues southward, Boyd and Garroth keeping ahead of the main group. Linar moves to one flank after Eariel’s warning; bow at the ready.
After a few more hours it is nearing midday. The Dwarf and Minotaur come to a wide bridge over a steeply sloped embankment. 30 feet below cold, clean water rushes by; the calm surface indicating a hidden depth. There seems to be no way down the embankment, nor up the opposite side; but a well-constructed bridge of stone and timber spans the divide. It is clearly well maintained, and wide enough for a wagon and a two men abreast besides. A 3’ high thick wooden rail makes up the edges. Salem tests the air, but doesn’t seem disturbed by anything he senses. According to Eariel, this bridge marks the half-way point between their camp last night and Bordertown itself. The suspected orcish activity is reported to be a few miles south of this river.
[How far ahead do Garroth and Boyd want to stay? One mile had been stated before, but at that distance nobody would be able to see them ahead along the road through the woods. About a half-mile is the maximum distance.]

Linar remains within sight of the main group.
Re: Act 1, Scene 2: “The Edge and Back” (Group B: Main Game
I was thinking a quarter mile.. maybe just over.. but now we are clear of the Forrest, once over the bridge, Garroth will fan out and cover the left flank at a distance of a quarter mile.
As for the bridge: Garroth nocks an arrow.. "I'll cover you if you want to clear the Bridge Boyd... but let's wait until the rest of the partncam see what we're doing.."

[The forest goes on for hundreds of miles in every direction, the bridge and river do not indicate the end of the forest, they are within it.]

After the river he will cover the left flank at 200 yards, a bowshot.. uptill now he was heeding the warning if the wood elves..

"Seems to me we are crossing the bridge either way. Best we get a look at the other side before we put more folk at risk."
Boyd takes a moment to eye the other side of the bridge, looking carefully for signs of life. This is a great spot for an ambush, so he is looking mostly for concealed foes, or for any vegetation that is low to the ground and is withered or yellowed, which would suggest it had been cut and made into a blind.
If he sees none of that, he will hurry across the span to the other side.

"No matter where you go, there you are."
