Matthias comes up beside Saul, averting his gaze from the climbing Eloise. "I will help you, goodman. Should she encounter a problem on the other side she would be left vulnerable without our aid and thus best to move the ladder in any case." He starts to the barn, looking behind to see if any follow to help him.

Eloise makes her way up the wall without incident and manages to squeeze between the wooden beams of the railings which are intact at this part of the ramparts. She has now the choice between the door to the tower (to her left) and the door to the wall of the inner couryard (to the right).

(OOC @ Ish and Tram: the ladder would only reach about half way as high as the rampart is, so everyone following Eloise would still need a climb walls check)

Thelma stays at the bottom until Eloise clears the way, and she attempts to move up after the young girl. "I'm coming up," she tells her friend.

Thelma follows Eloise. She has a little more difficulty finding footholds, but arrives safely next to the girl.

"Tower or courtyard?", she asks Eloise.

"It is like herding cats, is it not?" Christopher says, watching the two young women head off on their own. "Saul, if it will help, pray they do not get themselves into trouble up there, will you?"

"Courtyard, we should get inside and open that door." Eloise says, trying to sound more confident than she feels. "Be quiet." With that she moves alongside no 3.

[OOC:]To make sure we're all on the same page, here's where I assume everyone is, correct me if I'm wrong:

Eloise and Thelma are on the ramparts of the wall connecting the outer tower gate (#1) to the walls of the inner courtyard, roughly above building #3. The men are looking at them more or less from where the x is. [/OOC]

The door in the wall separating the inner and outer courtyards can be pushed open without difficulty, the hinge is on the left. Peeking through, the two girls see a rampart much like the one they climbed onto. Ahead, it follows the outer wall and is made of wood. It looks OK for the first few yards, but they can't tell how stable it is further on. To their right, the rampart of the wall between the outer and inner courts is stone with a wood railing. It leads to another door, of thebuilding marked as #7 on their plan.

"Right?" She whispers, "I don't like the look of that rail.." taking Thelmas hand into hers she moves towards the door.

Exasperated, Saul composes himself, remembering to hide his accent lest it betray his origins. "Pray for them? The words would scarcely pass my lips before they found themselves in a new, more dangerous situation. Nay, we can only hope that the Lord's eyes are already upon them."

Thelma says, "We need to get them inside, quickly". She follows alongside Eloise and asks in a whisper, "Do you want to try the lock, first?"

Moving to the east Eloise tries the door with one hand, if it is locked she pulls an old rusty pick from her hair and slides it in the lock.

"Why are we here?" She asks as she leans in.

"You climbed up into this place," Thelma replies with a straight face.

"Haha!" nudging her sister in the ribs she shakes her head, "Why are we in this castle? What do we know about rescuing people?"

Dale asks the others around him. "Did they tell us what they were going to do?"
