"Oura, if you aren't going to do anything, then get out of my way," Jocelyn says as she pulls out her sling. Though, there isn't a whole lot she can do with it while everyone is there. "Oh, you know what, screw it," she says as she turns and starts running for the exit of the temple to head the guy off at the window.

(OOC: Sorry, there was no floor plan, I didn't think the private quarters of the clergy were accessible from the main hall and not from the office. There was no mention that Jocelyn had to get past Ouragana when she fetched her things! Of course Ouragana wouldn't have stepped in her way!)
"Sorry" Ouragna mutters sheepishly and immediately sits into a pew. Taking out her spellbook, she begins to memorise Sleep and Irritation.

Jocelyn turns on her heel and runs toward the southern exit, passing by Ursula who is just coming out of her room. "What's all the commo--" she begins before Jocelyn rushes past her, then bursts outside.
Meanwhile, the assassin opens the window and climbs out, Val right on his heels. He makes a dash for the east fence, near the well.
Ouragana reaches for her spellbook, but remembers she left it in her room. Not that she would have time to memorize any spells at the moment, anyway!

Round 5!
Jocelyn runs outside the south entrance of the temple.
Assassin opens the window and hops out, heading toward the eastward fence.
Val climbs out the window after the assassin.
Areilon throws her stiletto at the fleeing assassin from behind (+2) (1d20+2): 5, miss.
Ouragana does nothing.
(OOC: Ouragana's spellbook is in her backpack, which she left back in her inn room. Even if she had it, it would take her 10 rounds to memorize
Sleep and another 20 rounds to memorize
Irritation.)

Once outside, Jocelyn turns towards the east to hopefully follow after the man that tried to kill her. "Stop him!" she cries out.

(OOC: Yes, but given Ouragana is of absolutely no use at the moment, that would still be the most sensible thing to do)
Has there been anything like a constabulary in or near the Majoer's office? If yes, Ouragana goes there to report the assasin attack on the town's head priest.

Arei leans down and collects Telsa, before charging out of the door, (if Oura has moved, otherwise she too will go through the window.

Ourawqalks out into the street, feeling like the most useless person in the world. She goes back towards the village square and stops the next person she meets: "Excuse me, do you have police or militia here?" she asks.

Val continues to chase the man, vengeance in her eyes. Saving her breath, she says not a word.

The assassin manages to reach the eastern wall of the fence. He could take a moment to climb up it, but doing so would leave him exposed to Val, so instead he turns to face her. Jocelyn jogs around the temple and spots the assassin. She yells to stop him, but nobody is really around to hear her except Val and the assassin himself.
Areilon picks up her sword and runs out the front door. She hears Jocelyn shouting to the east of the building.
Val pursues, and manages to catch up to the assassin.
Ouragana jogs as fast as she can toward the village square, looking for someone. She finally spots a young elven man strolling down the road. Stopping him, she asks him about police or a militia.
"Nope," he says. "No police at all. There was a vote a few years back to instate one, but nobody wanted to raise the taxes to pay for them. There's not really a formal militia, either. If the village is in trouble, we usually send word to another town for aid, or just get together our best warriors and deal with the problem."

Areilon picks up her sword then runs out the front door.
Val catches up with the assassin by the fence wall.
Ouragana jogs as fast as she can toward the center of the village.
(OOC: It would have taken several rounds for Ouragana to walk there, so I changed it to jog instead.

Jocelyn holds her sling at the ready, but doesn't actually fire on the assassin. "Will there be more attempts on my life?" she asks.

"And what do you do when there's an assasin around?" Ouragana asks the young man.

Val slows down and levels her trident. "You have one more chance to surrender, else I run you through."

Temple Courtyard
The assassin sneers at Jocelyn. "Did you think we would forget what you did, even after all these years? You didn't even change your name! How could you think we wouldn't find you? Even if you kill me, it's too late. I've already sent word! We'll hunt you down to the ends of the world!"
And with that said, he turns and attempts to climb up over the wall.
Village Square
The young elf chuckles at Ouragana's question. "Assassin? Nothing of that sort has ever happened here. This is a quiet, peaceful village. There's nobody here worth assassinating."
