Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Jasmine continues running towards the barn that Gaheris is currently hiding behind, especially since most of the undead have been swallowed up by darkness.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Ishan grumbles at his severe lack of luck. He begins stringing a bomb to an arrow while moving along the road.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Gaheris will scale the wall of the barn to reach the roof, where he can get a better view and be safer from the attackers once they arrive.
Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
As it becomes apparent that combat is imminent, the party moves swiftly closer to be close enough to help out. In addition to this, many of them make some special preparations.
Ishan pulls out one of his alchemical bombs and takes the time to carefully attach it to one of his arrows.
Benjamin examines a nearby building, which as it turns out, is a storage shed. It contains sickles and scythes, a few pitchforks, a plow, some sacks of grain, a couple barrels and a large pile of hay. There's also ample room in it for say, a wagon, but that appears to not be in the building at this point. The building doesn't have any windows, and it doesn't appear to have a ladder or anything of that sort to aid in climbing it, so Benjamin decides it would take too long to climb it, so he takes anything he'd like and moves on.
Gaheris decides to climb the barn beside him. This is more difficult then he expected, and it takes him a few tries, but he does manage to climb it eventually. When he gets to the top he remembers his grappling hook. That may have made it easier, but he's up now and it's unlikely that the cultists will have any easier time getting onto the barn then he did. (OoC: Sorry, forgot about the grappling hook, that would have lowered the DC to 5)
Jasmine double moves to E5, Jasmine double moves to G4
Zurgo double moves to D5, Zurgo double moves to F5
Ishan preps a bomb arrow and triple moves to D7
Kanock double moves to C7, Kannock double moves to E7
Benjamin double moves to F10, examines the storage shed, and moves to G10. He may take any item he found with him, as long as it doesn’t slow him down considerably.
Gaheris climbs up the barn in K3: 12, fail, 6, fail, 15, success. It takes him 3 tries.
Enemies move, darkness moves closer.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Once on the roof, Gaheris does a quick scan around the area, trying to get a good idea of where everyone is. He knew nothing about the enemy or the others, or what they were capable of doing, but he knew Jasmin's fighting style, if nothing else. No doubt she would rush forward, blades singing, as normal. From here he could provide her backup.
He readies his bow and nocks an arrow. The skeleton has no flesh or organs to pierce, so he ignores it for now. Pulling the arrow back, he takes aim at minion #3 and lets out a breath before releasing.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Jasmine continues running towards the enemies since Gaheris seems to be pretty safe on top of the barn.
Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Benjamin briefly considers digging a trench as a defensive measure or using the barrels as cover, but the weight and visibility of either of these objects diminishes their value. Instead he takes two pitchforks and continues to sneak eastwards with the sway of the oats, wary of his enemy through the tall green stems.

Ishan continues moving forward while attempting to stay near his allies, they can't pay him if they're dead.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
starting to feel the familiar rhythms of a war sprint, Zurgo charged forward. (double move)
Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Gaheris draws an arrow and aims it at one of the advancing cultists. His shot goes close to the target, but a little wide to the left. That is, it would have if the cultist hadn't seen him shoot. The cultist, in an effort to dodge, rolled to the left just the right amount for the arrow to end up hitting him, piercing through his thin cultist robes and leaving him bleeding on the field.
This however doesn't provoke much of a reaction from the other cultists. One of them, the one nearest to him seems incensed and rushes over to the barn Gaheris is on top of and climbs said barn with inhuman speed, arriving at the top right beside the archer. A second cultist emerges from the cloud of darkness and mutters some dark words, causing the dead cultist to rise up again, although not all of him has made the trip, rather it's just his skeleton, still grasping his dagger, that comes back to life. The other cultists seem to ignore the incident and rush towards Gaheris or the rest of the group blindly.
Note: the following explaination of actions is using the old map cordinates (see post above)
Gaheris shoots at minion 3: 10 vs AC, hit, 1 damage. Minion 3 is killed.
Benjamin picks up 2 pitchforks and double moves to I9
Jasmine double moves to I4, Ishan double moves to F6, Kanock double moves to G7, Zurgo double moves to H5
(enemies move) m4 attempts to climb the barn: 17 vs DC 15, success.
m2 casts raise dead on a body: raises it as a skeleton (s2)! This reaveals m2 as actually a necromancer!
I will now be using a new map scale, zoomed in on the area where the players are. This new map uses the standard scale of map used by pathfinder, aka each square is 5ft by 5ft, most people can move 6 squares with 1 move action.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
"hmmm, range in the front lines, not ideal," Zurgo chuckled at Gaheris predicament, letting his axe drop to his side he leveled in a full blown sprint to the fence howling "COME MANCERS! LET MY GOD'S SEE OUR CARNAGE IN ALL IT'S GLORY!" (intimidate, drawing as many hostiles as possible to to me). At 5 feet to the fence, Zurgo leaps. (acrobatics to get over fence to T22)
Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Gaheris takes a five foot step to the north and then looses a point blank arrow at the wall-scaling minion 04, hopefully putting him down or at the very least, knocking him back off the roof.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Jasmine continues to run for the fence, and jumps it much like Zurgo. "Hey, don't start stealing all of the fun now!" she calls out to Zurgo.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Ishan advances before readying his bow, crouching he prepares to shoot his arrow at the first target he thinks he has a chance of hitting.

Re: The Quest of the Missing Quill
Up on the roof Gaheris makes some distance between himself and the cultist before launching an arrow through his skull. The blow kills the cultist instantly, which seems to encourage one of the other cultists to approach and cast some dark magics on the body. Before long the cultist stands back up, although he still has an arrow hole in his skull, and he doesn't bother picking up his weapon, and he starts slowly staggering towards Gaheris.
Zurgo rushes towards the fence, and with a mighty leap clears it with some air to spare, landing on the other side cleanly and bellows a challenge towards all enemies that dare fight him. Although it's hard to tell the motives of the cloud of darkness that approaches, two skeletons dash towards him, one cutting off his bravado with a nick from it's rusty sword.
Jasmine, attempting a similar feat to the half orc, falls short of the fence when she tries to leap it, and settles for uncerimoniously climbing over it to be close to the unfolding battle.
Kanock, still rushing forward draws the attention of one cultist who had made their way to the road, but before the cultist could reach Kanock, an arrow from Ishan impacts in his chest, and explodes, leaving a mess of a corpse on the ground in front of Kanock.
Meanwhile Benjamin continues sneaking through the oat field, exiting it and makes his way along the road to flank the cultists.
Zurgo runs at the fence and attempts to jump over it (Acrobatics: 1d20+4): 21 -> he jumps 21 feet across, 5 feet high at the highest point, and clears the fence, landing in U22.
Gaheris takes a 5 foot step to X7 and shoots at m4 (1d20+7): 14 vs AC, hit, 4 damage. M4 dies.
Jasmine runs at the fence and attempts to jump it (Acrobatics: 1d20+6): 9, she jumps 9 feet and lands just short of the fence (S13). With her remaining movement she climbs over the fence to T13.
Ishan moves to G27 and redies an attack.
Kanock double moves to 026
Benjamin double moves to T38
(cows move)(enemies in dark cloud move + recast cloud)
Skeleton 2 double moves towards Zurgo (Z15), Skeleton 1 moves to V22 and attacks Zurgo: 19 vs AC, hit for 1 damage.
minion 1 double moves to P27.
Ishan shoots a bomb arrow at minion 1 (attacks while he moves through Q27): 10 vs AC and vs Touch, hits both, deals 1 damage + 2 fire damage. Minion 1 is killed.
minion 2 double moves to Y9 and raises a body at X9 into a zombie (z2).
