Van will dig in his components bag for extras of what ever Linar needs to try a spell he decides to swap.

"Here... this is my spellbook.. read and copy whatever you need, just take good care of it." Then Garroth stalks quietly outward, looking and sniffing for signs of danger.,

"Sure, Garrroth. We can do yours next, if you're happy with that," responds Linar with a nod.

Garroth sets out to circle the camp, looking for tracks and searching for any scent that might lead to trouble. Aside from normal marks left by woodland creatures, he doesn’t find anything; though there are some indications that wolves have been nearby recently.

Back in camp Linar and Van begin their arcane studies. Eariel gets the others settled and asks Garroth once he returns if he found any signs of danger.

Everyone swapping please make your ‘chance to learn’ rolls and post in your private threads for the spells you wish to learn (if you haven’t already). Please label the macros clearly to indicate which roll is for which spell. Also, roll for the number of pages it takes up in the spellbook. A 1st level spell takes 1d6 pages.

"Recent sign of Wolves, but nothing worse.. how goes the study? Do either of you have a magic missile spell I could try to study?"

"I don't currently know Magic Missile," replies Linar.

"No matter.. if you are happy enough to let me look over what you have then... ?"


Garroth' book currently has;

Lvl 1 spells: Burning Hands, Comprehend Languages, Detect Magic, Lasting Breath, Metamorphose Liquids, Read Magic

Eariel finishes getting her people settled and starts a fire in one of the stone-ringed fire-pits as twilight fades into nightfall. She moves over near where the others are once the studying is done. How do we want to set up the watch for tonight?

"Up to you guys, of course, but I'd suggest minimum of two on watch at a time, concentrating on those that have good night vision, or other mitigating senses, in the deep of the night. I'll need a short while to study some books, and then will need a long rest to be able to regain spells. If you want to thrash out the details among yourselves while I go do that studying now, I will fit in with what you decide," answers Linar long-windedly but honestly and accurately.

He finds a position near the center of camp where he can sit with his back to a tree, and hails, "Van! Study time!"

"Double split deadman watch.... I'll take graveyard shift... (1:30 am to 4:30 am). We can use the townspeople to help shore up the even numbers... "

"I'll take slot 1... if no one minds," offers Van helpfully.
