OOC: Oh, sorry, I wasn't clear. The human figures are approaching from behind the gnolls. And I would have posted a map if my good computer wasn't down. I had to find and download the module again. No time yet to modify the map to our needs.

OOC: am I still able to fire at anybody or do I have to get in close?

@ Searos: you can fire all right, they're not charging yet

Searos eyes the approaching humans and also eyes his quiver. Perhaps getting his arrows at that "Honest Discount Fletcher" wasn't such a good idea after all. Still, he pulls a third arrow (sparing a glance for termites) and prepares to launch it!
Init = 1d10 = 5

OOC: Okay, so I'm a little confused. How many enemies are we facing here?

In the limited range of your torchlight, you can see two people coming towards you (plus the gnolls you are in combat with). What lies beyond the torchlight is invisible, there might be more people there. The way the battle sounds resonate, the cavern is quite large.

Vee looks at the gnoll, wondering why he isn't lying on the floor right now. "Why do you don't just give up?" she asks, while attaking him one more time.

Echo remains in defense mode for the moment as she lets the warriors take care of the problem.

(ooc: to move things forward, I've rolled for Gunter, assuming he will simply continue his attack)
Searos takes aim at the man coming out of the dark and moving towards Gunter. He fires his arrow, but misses narrowly.
The other man moves towards Vee, trying to help the gnoll, but is intercepted by Brax. He strikes first with his broadsword, but Brax is able to parry him. Unfortunately, the weapons lock and Brax's sword is twisted out of her grip, clattering to the floor.
Vee is luckier, her staff strikes the gnoll across the snout, reducing it to a bloody mass. It staggers, visibly on its lats legs, but refuses to give up. Its feeble attempt to strike back is easy to avoid.
The gnoll Gunter fights with strikes at him with his battle axe, but Gunter dodges the weapon easily. In his battle furor, however, he has missed that a man has come up to join the melee. Gunter's parrying comes too late, so he is hit by the man's broadsword, which gives him a nasty cut across the thigh. He's surprised an weakened, so that the blows of his swords hit nothing but empty air.
During all this, Searos kept a cool head and with another arrow, he shoots at the man who had attacked Brax, where he has a clear line of fire. The arrow is no direct hit, but passes so close to the man's neck that it draws blood.
Initiative order:
Searos (5)
Human 2 (5)
Brax (6)
Gnoll 2 (6)
Human 1 (6)
Vee (7)
Gunter (8)
Gnoll 1 (9)
Searos:
fires two arrows, one of which does 1 damage
Gunter:
1d20 = 5, no hit
Gnolls:
with a 10 and a 12, they don't manage to hit their opponents
Humans:
human 1 hits Gunter with a 19 for 8 damage, human 2 misses Brax

"Dogmeat, go help Gunter," Amon commands his canine companion, while keeping his staff before him in case he is attacked.
The dog responds with a brief bark before running over to bite the human that just attacked Gunter in the left leg with a growl. Hopefully this can buy Gunter some time to finish off the gnoll first.
=======
Initiative (
1d10+3): 9
Dogmeat attacks Human 01 (
1d20): 16 for (
2d4): 3 damage.
Amon remains in full defense.

Ignoring her fallen staff Brax reaches for the Mace hanging from her belt, striking at the human, her red eyes burning in pain.
"Humans.." She scoffs, she couldnt take many hits and she knew it.

The blood running down Gunter's leg only serves to anger him further. He sees the other man enter the fray but keeps his concentration on the gnoll, determined to bring it down before moving on...
