Checking the door, Tas inspects it and listens at the door for sounds. He attempts to detect any traps. (( PM if there are traps, perhaps? Trying to keep Tas in the dark about failure.success of his rolls ))

Tasslehoff checks the door for traps and listens closely to it. However, he finds no traps nor hears any noise at all.

Satisfied, Laurana pushes open the door and looks inside.

Much like the outer hallway, this room has the appearance of former luxury now fallen into decay. The carpet is slashed and spotted; many fine pieces of furniture are strewn across the dirty floor. Some fancy chairs have been splintered, apparently so their legs can be used as firewood, since a smoky blaze struggles in a huge fireplace.

A strong smell of ale hangs in the air, and a large keg lies on its side in the center of the room. Another keg sits in the far corner, and around it crouch five draconians.

The coppery draconians do not seem to yet notice the party's intrusion just yet.

Riverwind attempts to move silently into the room, along the wall on his right, hoping to surprise the foe. Once engaged, he will retreat to the doorway, preventing any escape again.

Riverwind, quiet as a mouse, slips into the room undetected. The draconians appear to be drinking and are not yet aware there is anyone there yet.

Draconians make a surprise check (1d10): 5, are not surprised

(OOC: The draconians are not surprised, but they are unaware of the party's presence. So you can all choose to take a free attack against them, if you wish to.)

Goldmoon slips into the room after her beloved and steps to her right, so that someone else can follow. Her sling had been loaded, so she can fire quickly. Alas, her aim is too poor, and she misses.

(does that modify initiative? I did the roll unmodified: 1d10, 1d20, 1d4+1=[9], [4], [2, 1])

1d10, 1d20+3, 1d8=[3], [17, 3], [4], 1d20+3, 1d8=[9, 3], [6]

Init 3,
#2 Hit AC -3 & 5, for 4 & 6 damage

Magpie follows letting loose a single stone at #2.
1d10, 1d20+2, 1d4=[7], [16, 2], [3]

Riverwind heads to the other door, while Goldmoon, Laurana, Magpie and Tasslehoff step inside and all fire at one of the draconians. The assault of stones and arrows pummel the draconian, causing all five of them to stand up and draw their swords. "Intruders! Take them!" one cries.
