Is that an apology then? lol

I figure it's easier to play it off as Gimak mishearing her than going back and editing posts. So, yes, an apology from Gimak in-character.

This post is to notify everyone of my withdrawal from the game. I just can't seem to get into it, no matter how hard I try. Feel free to write Seraphina off however you wish, as I don't believe I'll ever end up using her.

I'm sorry to hear that. What was the problem?

I'm not entirely sure, to be honest. I've had plenty of "strong, silent type" characters before. Sometimes their personalities evolve over time, but most times I go in with some semblance of what I plan for them. This time though, while I had no less to go on than some of my previous characters, I just can't seem to get into Seraphina. I doubt it's her race (though I admit this is my first time playing a halfling), and its certainly not her class choice...
I'm not certain that I'll ever figure it out. Some characters/games are just not for me. Perhaps it's the fact I was searching so desperately for a place to use this character that I killed my chances at actually enjoying it, who knows...

I'm sorry to hear that.I looked forward to playing with you.
I hope the "interesting" character interaction between us had nothing to do with the decision.
Perhaps it is just adjusting to playing PbP? Took me a while I can tell you!

Actually, I have been in over a dozen PbP games during my year of "heavy" d&d playing. In fact, I've barely done much but skim other people's posts in the IC thread. I just can't seem to get invested in it. PbP games are sort of like books. Some start out slow and get better over time, others start out with a major hook to lure you in and keep you there. Some people like it one way, others like it another, and there are even those who don't give much thought to how it starts as long as the story interests them.
For me, I would say that this is one of those books that looked good on the outside, but unfortunately failed to keep my attention. Not due to poor writing or anything of the sort, it's just.... not my thing somehow.
On the subject of your "interesting" character interactions, as I said above I barely read anything. I tried to, but it just didn't stick with me enough to truly get me invested in it. I know I read the first page or two of posts thoroughly, but then my attention wavered and I just skimmed instead of reading.

Ah well Faeryl, thank you for notifying us instead of simply disappearing. Sorry the game isn't to your tastes, but best of luck wherever you play ^^

I wanted to ask, for the sake of my notes but also because I'm anal about spelling:
How do you spell your character's name, Jenara? Does it have one l and one n (Eliana), two l's and one n (Elliana), or one l and two n's (Elianna)?
In your stat block, you used two l's and one n (Elliana).
In your signature, you use one l and two n's (Elianna).
And in your description, you use both two l's and one n AND one l and one n (Elliana and Eliana).
You use Elianna in your dice rolls, and that's the spelling I've had Gimak use so far, so I assume that's the correct version, but I really wanted to make sure before I make a fool of myself further by continuing to possibly use the wrong spelling.

I never noticed the change in spelling, blame the multiple devices I've been using!
I am going to say its Elianna.

Okay, good. Thanks.
Once, a few years back, I was DMing a game and misspelled a PC's name. In every single post I ever made. For like, over a year. The player never called me on it until the game was nearly over. Since then, I've been nuts about making sure I get character names spelled right.

I like to get it right too!
And good, Gimak has voiced his feelings.

We should love them regardless. After all, didn't Paul Simon say "There must be fifty ways to love your leaver"?

Damn, we lost all of the new blood. And now we just have all of this old blood.
Will you be dropping Maria and Seraphina from the party soon then?
