"Well, all this dust must mean they don't have visitors often," Drav says, "Who would have a magic coin in their pack?"

*Make one final attempt to get the dagger on the ground, if I can't get it this time, I must not be meant to :/*

"You know, I feel as though this whole thing may work. As you can tell, they haven't specifically tried to kill us, so they must really want off this rock. I wouldn't mind leaving it either."

During their walk to the pantry Baeros tries to whistle to Hopper. 'I hope he didn't teleport into a wall.' He thinks to himself. "So where did you get this... hmm... amazing tan?" Baeros asks one of their captures. "Never saw blue ogres before. And those I have seen were particularly evil, crushing any living thing around just for the fun of it. You seems different... so far."

Once left at the pantry Baeros tells the others, "Are you mad! What is this idea to help these creatures? They will bring only disasters with them. They will burn the ground they are walking on. Kill men, women and children. Then use their bodies for their whatever evil rituals they perform. They will poison the waters. Uproot woods and fields of crops. Spread diseases and start a plague. You must think of the consequences!" he says with passion the party never have seen in him before.

As the time passes in darkness, Baeros relaxes a bit. He keeps whistling for Hopper from time to time, but when Theddaus tells Ouragana he can't see her, Baeros can't hold up and says, "Oh oh Theddaus, now that you have given up this tactic info she will be over you in no time, and you will stand no chance." Baeros laughs.

Val struggles to get up and cut Drav's bonds, but her body gives out on her and she collapses on the floor weakly.

Drav manages to pick up the dagger she dropped, though, and cut his own bonds. Amazingly, he manages to do so without cutting himself at all.

Baeros had to admit, he had never seen ogres like these before. They looked different--not just with the strange skin color and horns, but also they were slightly taller. And they seemed very intelligent and able to cast spells. He had never known an ogre smart enough to tie a shoe, nevermind use sorcery.

==========

Val makes a CON check with near death fatigue (-2) in order to try and free Drav's bonds [13] (1d20): 20, fail.
Drav makes a DEX check in order to pick up the dagger and cut himself free [18] (1d20): 1, pass.

(OOC: Nuke, a CON check--or any check really--is made with a 1d20 not a 3d6. So I rerolled for you.)

"Baeros," Jocelyn says. "So far, the consequences of not helping them most likely will lead to our deaths," she pointed out.

*Attempt to cut Gallath's bonds, then Jocelyn's bonds with the dagger, Val needs some help*

"The coins... of course... stupid me!" Ouragana exclaims. Since her hands are tied in front of her, she can retrieve hers from the belt pouch to give them light (if necessary, she will simply turn the pouch over to empty it on the floor), then she waits for someone to cut her bonds.
"Bearos, mabe they are not ogres" she tells the ranger in the meantime. "Somehow, they remind me of beings I heard about in a tale, I think they were called jinni or something like that, they were magical beings from another plane... clearly there are more things in this wordl than we can ever know."

With his hands free, Drav can now easily cut the ropes binding the wrists of Gallath, Jocelyn and then Val.

Ouragana manages to retrieve her glowing coin, which illuminates the entire room fully.

Brock grunts. "Great, just what we need...more magic. And whatever those things are...they are magical. You all saw how they appeared out of nowhere like that." He snorts.

Jocelyn blinks her eyes at the sudden light, and looks around. Pushing herself up now that her bonds are gone, she walks over to Baeros and places her hand upon his shoulder and instantly heals all of his wounds (Lay on hands). Once done, she walks over to Oura, places her hand upon her shoulder, and prays for Octhanus to heal her (Cure Light Wounds). She gives Oura a pat on the shoulder once done, then walks over to Gallath and Drav in which she prays over the both of them (Cure Mod Wounds). "The rest of us will have to wait until tomorrow," she says.

"Thank you Jocelyn... and Octhanus" ouragana says with a smile as Jocelyn walks away. "The pain was really preventing me from thinking straight." She looks at the mess of her things lying on the floor an then calls to Drav: "Could you cut me free. too?" Once that is done, she puts back her things into the pouch.

After adjusting to the bright light Baeros looks at Jocelyn with torn feelings, especially when she touches him. He hates the ogres. He knows in his heart they are ogres. Evil. Vandal. But no, he won't risk his friends, and yes, they are right, the ogres have a huge advantage over them. They know the castle, they probably see in the darkness, they set up the magical traps and they cast spells. Defeated he says quietly at Ouragana comment, "Djinni... yeah, you must be right." but everyone could hear as he clenched his teeth.

"We should find out more about these experiments, they don't act like any ogres I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
"I agree with the idea that they may not be ogres after all, or, at least, haven't always been. Who knows, maybe they were human once, or even elven, or ferrets even for all we know. Or they could be these extra-planar beings Ouragana mentioned, but if so, they should be able to return, a curious matter that leads back to the 'we should learn more about these experiments' thing.
"Or maybe they are ogres- were ogres, or whatever, they've clearly been here for a long time, it's very likely that they developed an entirely different culture in that time. Sure they took us captive, but try analyzing the situation from there perspective: we're essentially unknown intruders, a possible threat to the well being of their people. We just marched up to there place like 'Ah! Door! Ahh fire! Ah! Hellhounds!' Why do they have hellhounds?
"And again where back to the matter of needing to know more about them. But bringing up the fire reminds me, uh, do you have anymore healing power you can send this way, also, can someone cut my ropes?"
Dahn spews out in the most spindly chained of rants.
"Oh, another thing, I'm curious about their magic, perhaps they will be willing to share their knowledge."
I don't blow minds, I blast brains.

While Drav cuts loose everyone else who is still tied up, Jocelyn does the rounds with her remaining healing spells. Baeros and Ouragana are fully healed, as if the fire trap had never touched them. Gallath, who was in pretty bad shape, feels much better now. Finally Drav has gone from being half dead to only having a few minor first degree burns.

After that, there isn't much to do but sit and pass the time. After an hour or so, they hear the door unlock from the other side.

The person who enters is not an ogre, or djinn, or whatever those things are. She is quite clearly a human. She's tall, with long blonde hair, green eyes, and fair skin. She isn't wearing much--a top and loincloth that just barely provides her decency. She keeps her eyes down to the ground, while carrying a platter. On it is a long limb of some kind of cooked meat. It's green and rubbery looking and has an unpleasant smell. Fortunately, the party had breakfast this morning, but if this is the food being provided, dinner might be rather gross.

The door closes behind her and she steps forward, offering the party the strange meat timidly.
