Ruehar grins at the win and shakes Delton's hand, then passes the weapons and 10 gold over. He admres the newly won weapon.
No need to wrap it, I'll wear it out. he says, belting it on.
We'll have to play again sometime. I'm sure you'll land the next one. he says sincerely and amicably. He returns to the tavern to see if Polly is about.

"I'm sure, too," replies Delton with a smile, but he looks a little dubious. Ruehar now has two short swords.
After a quick walk through the crowd, ignoring all the hawkers, Ruehar is nearly run over by a man that scoots up on a trolley. He is missing both feet and apologizes and then and begs for money to buy some food. There are several sets of eyes, all human, a hawker, a water-carrier and a nondescript youth watching.
How will Ruehar react/respond?
WHen the elf finally gets back to the Inn, the halfling is indeed elevated to bar level in her 'high chair.'
What next?

[Ooc: what roll would be appropriate to determine if he's faking... as in feet tucked up somewhere or something...]
Easy there, man... Ruehar says, calmly. How did you lose the feet? he asks, genuinely interested. If the man balks or seems offended, Ruehar will draw up one pant leg to show hthe bottom of his wooden limb.

"Gangrene. Used to be a sailor. Got the price of a meal, please, kind sir?" he responds.
"Nice job that," eyeing the elf's pegleg. "Wish I could afford a pair of those, and training on how to move with them."

Ruehar gives him the price of a meal as asked. For a fellow member of the 'foot loose' club. He bids the man good day and heads to meet polly.
Once there he sidles up to the bar next to her high barstool. Sleep well?

"Thank you, man, errm.., elf, err.., sir" says the begger with a huge grin as he scoots off.
"I did, I did," replies Polly. "And how about you?"
After listening to any reply, she adds, "And is this a social call? Or is there something you be awanting?"
She raises her eyebrows suggestively. Or possibly questioningly.

Please deduct from char sheet whatever Ruehar would consider the price of a meal.

[Ooc: two silver marks]
He laughs, smiling at the congenial halfling's eyebrow waggling. Would that it were. But do you recall our conversation about searching out the herders?

"I do. Yes, of course I do. So how can I help?" answers Polly with a congenial smile. "And for what consideration?"

Well, I thought you might help me find the place and survive the trek there and back. he grins at the spunky Ranger. How much do you usually charge as a 'trail guide?

"Depends where is it that you wish to go to and what activities or duties you want me to perform," answers Polly. "Cost of breakfast is always included, of course," she adds with a cheeky smile.
"If you just want a guide for a a few days, non-hazardous, then 4Gp per day plus expenses. If it's full blooded 'explore the unknown' then it's by agreement. My normal flat rate would be 300GP for the month, expenses and hazard pay on top. Otherwise, I'd be asking for equal shares, with a minimum of 150GP plus expenses guaranteed." She leans back in her high-legged chair, clearly interested but trying not to look too eager.

Ruehar laughs about the breakfast remark, but nods congenially.
How about equal share of any loot and 2 gp per day? He says with a winning smile.

She offers her hand which is dwarfed by Ruehar's own.
"OK, so what are we doing, where and when? And thanks for breakfast."
She pushes her breakfast plate away from her and catches Bruce's eye, then pointing at the plate and Reuhar.
Bruce wanders up to you on the other side of the bar, "'Excuse me. That's be 1sp for Polly's breakfast, if you please." He looks at the pair then smiles at the elf, "Eats like a horse, that one."

I want to head up in the hills, to the west of town, near where the herders keep their sheep and goats. I need to ask them about earnie and see if I can dig anything up that might be a clue regarding his disappearance. Cheff is supposed to meet us here too to come along.
Ruehar grins and pays the man, How dare you say such a thing about such a fine young lady. he teases Bruce back good-naturedly. Glancing down at the plate a look of mock shock comes over him. Oh dear... perhaps you're right! He draws his fingers in slowly as if afraid they might be bitten off, but gives Polly a wink.
