"The Gods don't need us troubling them..." He pauses, giving the surroundings a glance, "You bawg-nodoyadats, you always think you can ask them for something and they will deliver." He shakes his head, "No offense, but I tolerate you Cleric, because I like you, your funny. But keep the Gods away from me."

"So, relaxing huh?" He spins around winking at Angel, expecting a reaction.

Angels eyes follow Liri's stretch, releasing air from her lungs with a soft sigh, "Yes, yes it was nice."

She eyes Eldon critically, Bastian wouldn't react she hoped, probably making a joke of it, it would be interesting to see his reaction.

"I guess thats one way to put it." He grins again, "Come on then, while the creepy old mage isn't here, what is the deal? Its unnatural, worse than messing with the gods." He looks to Liri, who seems like the most sensible of the group, plus he rather liked her if he was honest.

Falling back on her seat, Liri turns to Eldon, suddenly very serious. "The deal is that a strange body was washed ashore at Orr's bay. If you don't know where that is, it doesn't matter. Because it looked like an elven lich, it started animosities between the human and elven population of the area. The creepy old mage was sent to investigate. He wanted to show the body to experts, and we accompanied him. Most of the group here as guards, me as an envoy of my people. A day's march from here, we were attacked by strange people who looked like the deceased, but alive of course. They took the body from us and cut down one of our companions, just like that.He will be buried here tonight, and we are trying to catch our breath. I have no idea how we will go on from here - that depends on the mage - but I really want to find out what these strange people are. They can speak an ancient version of Elven and look somehow like us, but in a twisted way."

Liri looks at the others. "Was that it, or have I forgotten something?"

"Well that told me." Eldon grins, patting Liris shoulder lightly,"Right, so we are waiting on direction? And the creepy mage is actually a good guy? I can live with that." laughing loudly, his humor filing the tent he looks at breakfast. "What are we all eating?"

"Well, he is not evil. Not in the sense that he does people ill intentionally, from what I can tell." Liri says with a shrug.

"Liri states the truth, he is not evil, or at least he doesn't appear to be." Angel answers curtly, her eyes on the young man, "I suggest something filling. If you wanted breakfast, I have no idea what we will be doing today."

Sword on her lap, she does not rise yet. "You summed up the situation quite well, I am sure Master Fraso will explain more later. Bastian, what did you find? Are you able to tell us?" She asks the Cleric.

Bastian's only reply to the comment on the Gods is "Well, aye, sometimes I wonder if it's not better to avoid their attention, myself. Nothing good comes from having a divine being on a first name basis with you." His gaze gets distant for a moment while he eats a few more mouthfuls of breakfast. It's only when he realizes that Angel is speaking to him that he breaks away from his thoughts.

"Hmm? Oh! Actually there is a task I would like your assistance with this morning if you don't have plans. I was asked to lead an investigative party to the site of our attack. Other than that, I learned very little. Well......no....that's not true. Apparently the outlaws have been quiet, but the local law DID hang one and left his corpse in the tree out there in the edge of the wilderness."

"I will gladly come with you to help. The more I learn about our adversaries, the better." Liri smiles at Bastian.

"Sitting here, it is making me lazy, I need to get out there, so yes, I will come with you, of course." Angel replies to the Cleric, regarding Eldon for a moment before placing a hand on Liri's shoulder. "We could use your eyes."

"May I join you? Would be good to see how you all operate as a group, find my niche as it were?" He looks between Angel and Bastian, unsure who to ask.

"I have no issue with it, but Bastian has been asked to lead, he gets to decide."

"What do you say? No hard feelings on the whole God thing?" The man says with a grin.

Bastian shrugs and says "I'm leading so much as I'm pointing the way. I've spoken for Angel, but if anyone else wants to come, they'll have to officially offer their services to whomever is leading the expedition. After my time in the Legion, I know better than to bring potentially uninvited guests. No offense, of course." He finishes with a wink at no one specific. "If it were up to me, I'd be more than welcoming."

"Yeah, I have had some experience with the Legion mentality." Eldon nods, returning with a wink of his own. "Could you take us to your Leader then?"
